Went to the hideout this morning...Some of the girls have come in already...

Got some big girls left out there. Here's two of them...
I chopped about one-forth of the girl I'm standing behind. I'm 6 feet tall. She should easily break 2 pounds..
That's about all I can handle in a day with separating branches from stalk, de-leafing and preliminary trim before I hang 'em up to dry.

That's a full days trimming mate,with 6 people and two spin-pros :tiphat:

Hell yeah man, that is sweet! Looks like your gonna have tons of bud!

I am curious how that spin-pro works? Been looking at them on Amazon, do they trim pretty good vs hand trimmed bud? And how much time do they save? I would love to imagine that I will have more to trim this year than I would like to handle or enjoy handling haha.

Spin-pros are good mate, they save us a ridiculous amount of time,hand-trimmed is better to be honest but no way could we get this in just hand-trimming hence we use the spin-pro and suffer the drop in quality for the time gained :tiphat:

Went to my spots today and took some picks. So far everything is doing good very little mold and hopefully some will be done soon. Since I smoke all my grow I won't trim except for some dry bud shots, I only trim what I'm about to smoke, I hate trimming.

Blue Widow, Durban Poison, Pineapple Chunk, Special Queen #1.

I put stuff out too early this year and they all suffered a bad frost and died. I was taking the dog for a walk and smelled the wonderful aroma of sweet smelling weed. I looked and saw that two of the frost killed plants had somehow grew. There were no leaves left on these plants when they got hit hard by the frost. I had this happen about 20 years ago the exact same way. They seemed to get extra bushy. I gave them no care all summer because I thought they were dead.

The big bushy one is 6 feet tall and has very dense buds that smell like skunk, incense and honey The other one is 4 feet tall and smells the same. They are super sticky and triched out pretty damn good. They will be harvested in a couple weeks.

This was a pleasant surprise to say the least.

It is amazing how they will care for themselves lol. Maybe the farmer cared for them for you or its that good ole ammonia nitrate kept them thriving. Either way, that is a beautiful plant and has some very nice buds on her.

All you guys getting frosts and freezes everywhere and its been in the 80s and 90s here in Ky and kinda cold in the night right now. I have about 22 more large girls I need to get placed outside ASAP! They will for sure be going through some frosts and freezes unfortunately but that's okay. I have not lost one due to cold weather yet, I have had them sit through multiple frosts and freezes and hadn't ever lost one.

Here are a couple bud shots, dried up and ready to toke :smoke out:

First is a poison warp pheno that I had to chop about a week or two early due to mold issues, second is one of 22 Island Afghani's that I had to chop just a week early due to an "impatient" issue LOL!

Looking good mountainbuds, how are your Ace seeds strains doing? It's turned wet up here in Indiana and I need to check on my plants. I find I get more bud rot in wet warm conditions compared to wet and cool.

mannn I remembered I had a dense budding plant and picked it before the rains...imo that's the key to avoiding mold and attaining quality is knowing what density to pick it.

Hey man sorry for the slow reply. I have been so freaking busy lately its not even funny. Watering, feeding, harvesting, trimming, staying on watch, still transplanting, etc etc lol.

I ended up losing 2 out of 4 of my Ace strains. I have a golden tiger in early flower right now and she is super bushy, then I have a zamaldelica in mod flower and I have it in a smaller pot, got lazy and never transplanted her to anything large. But they seem to be doing really good, especially the Golden Tiger. Probably wont finish till December though tbh.

It has been dry as a bone here lately and I have been loving every second of it! Woke up this morning at 4:30am and guess what I hear falling down on my roof top? Rain... Fucking rain. While all the buds are swelling and filling in.

So my plans to transplant a few girls out this morning have changed to trimming a couple plants that are pretty much finished that I have been controlling the mold on for a couple weeks, I was just letting them finish up as long as possible before chop but i'm not risking it spreading since it is already infected in that particular plant.

I really hope this doesn't last long.

I have found my strains that were finishing earlier tended to mold worse though, the heat and humidity seems to cause me way more mold than the cool time of the year. If you research botrytis, it seems to point towards cool and humid weather causing the rot to infest and grow faster, not in my case. My late finishing plants that are packing all of the weight on in the cooler months are always less moldy. So regardless of what the experts and books say or tell you, pure real life yearly experience tells me different.

You sure the rot isnt from caterpillers hatching and feeding inside the buds while they get bigger and spread their poop all over the insides of the buds they're in?
Thats what cauzes rot for us every year. This year has been the worst year for those on record. IIve picked hundreds of tiny cats' outa our buds so far.

Hey buddy, usually yes, the caterpillars and worms are the problem. But this year I have not had to deal with them that much using bt as a guard.

I am having a new problem this year, very similar to the cats. I am getting these tiny little jumping spiders build these little web nests inside the buds. They are super fast and you can barely catch them. I have caught and squished a few so far. For one the little cotton ball type nests they build are inside the bud which disturbs it obviously and retains moisture in the flower. Then you have the spiders victim carcass that rots and likely gives birth to fungus. I know its weirs and it is a new game changer for me, I don't usually have problems with these spiders, its always the caterpillars and borers causing the outbreaks like you said.

Harvested today in a light rain. One hour later it was pouring. I have not seen any caterillars in my buds, but this year i noticed some bugs and could not find what they were. Let me know what you think they are.
Descrition: 1 to 1.5 cm long
some were red, or orange, or green, or other colors of the rainbow
they just sat on the leaves and didnt appear to do any harm
when you went to grab them, they would jump away like five feet
Looked almost like little grasshoppers
I was worried because there were a lot of them

Anyone know what these are?

I would guess leaf hoppers. Google them and select images and see.

I forget where I read it, but it was somewhere in here I think. A guy said he'd used bird feeders to attract birds to his sites to eat bugs. I was wondering if anyone else had done this or tried it? If I just tossed bird feed amongst the plants you think the birds would also eat the bugs if there was food there? Our oohs the food just to attract them and after it's gone they live on the bugs in that area? It makes sense to me but I've never heard of it before. Seems like an excellent alternative to chemicals or sprays if it is effective?
