Derailed Blues: a Comparison, In North America

Gentlemen, whatis the best mix for clones. I've seen some of you use peet pellets in dirt...heavy perilite/w-soil mix (mabey some verm). In school (hort) we would use a mix such as 50% promix,10%sand,20%verm,20%perilite. The pro mix had quite a bit of peatmoss. I would tend to think that mixing ones own would be best, as every plants rooting/cloneing needs vary.

ps. like the new avitar?

PHL8T, I was just dipping my cuttings in rooting poweder and sticking them in damp soil

Then, I just recieved some peat pellets, they work well also. I read here somewhere, that after you soak them, to squeeze the excess water out of them before inserting your cuttings, which I did.

My opinion is the key to successful cloning is, keeping the humidity high for the first week.

I invert clear cups over the cuttings, or use the dome on my new germination kit. It has vents that can be regulated, to control the amount of moisture building up inside.

The bubble cloner growers have very few problems as well!

enjoy!

Hey guys I use gel and the jiffy pellets...when I put the cutting into the jiffy, that's when I squeeze it to get the extra water out and in doing so you give your cutting contact with the jiffy...And the local grocery store just brought in some No Name super soil...that's all I use..starting ..mixing in with the local soil...and it's cheap...70 lts for 5.99...stay safe..

Here's my DB's basking in the sun today. They are 55 days old and have been topped once.

The 20 oz cups filled up fast with new roots so, they were re-potted into 6 inchers right after the pic was taken.

Even with the north wind today the temps never dipped below 50, I'm so close, I can taste it! Another week of sheltered nights, and I should be able to keep them outdoors.

enjoy

Well there Cap't those DB's are looking good...I guess the Money Shot in the Fall contest is on...When the plants are ready, take the bud shot and we'll get a poll going to pick a winner...there should be a few more folks getting into this, the strain is being grown by a few...stay safe..

One more of my DB's turned up male, a late bloomer too!

I'm not complaining 4/6 were female and that's a very favorable ratio in my book.

I think I have just enough time to get a few more clones established before the gals go wild.

I'm still waiting on the sex of the LUI's, Grapefruit X BB, AK's, and the Scnazzleberrys.

It's time to clear the cabinets and start the next round of genetics from seeds.

I'm holding back a few for seed projects and sample buds indoors.

I don't want to take any chances that my guerilla gals will survive until harvest, so I'm planting way more, than I expect to harvest.

enjoy and think security.

WOW, lookin' good gentlemen!! Hey, thanks for the tips! Had a stroke of bad luck, but you'll read about that elsewhere, had to start over---better safe than stupid! Less plants number wise, but will be doing clones...lots and lots of little ones. Still have the same genetics/strains, just more work this year. Again, thanks for the tips.

Stay safe

stoner has a colony of DB's.....what a wordsmith!

I have a chorus line, and ND has chosen animations to reference his plants!

I may have to increase my feeding schedule to quell ND's modesty!

I'm starting to feel a little smurfy!

enjoy!

Great shots 'dude. Sure to be another Smirfett in that batch.

It's scary when Cappy starts talking about feeding plants. The Uranium Cranium was big enough shelter a family. ;)

They are getting a full dose of nutes with every watering as the wait to go into the ground. After being outdoors for a week, they have filled in the voids, where the last round of clones were taken.

Spring rains have left my guerilla location under a few inches of water, so transplanting has been postponed until next week.

Once in the ground, they should easily catch up so I can keep up to par with all the pros in this thread.

One of my clones will be chosen for my competion plant...I still have plenty of vegging season ahead of me :D

Those are looking great Cap't...my prize will be grown in a 85 liter tub with the bottom cut out over top of the spot I grew Smurfett last year...before I brought the tub back in last fall I dug a hole and put all that SuperSoil into it..she'll take right off there...theres a small pine tree right beside her so I want to see how she'll look beside it at the end of the year...and the DB's can take some ferts...I predict that you'll grow one like your UC monster from last year, this year Cap't...and the Stoner is going sativa all the way...he'll impress us with all his hard little buds...I just had a little DB and this typing is getting hard...stay safe..

I remember the DB growing next to the pine. I like picking proven grow spots. I always ask myself if it's good to grow in the exact same hole two years in a row.

The easier digging makes them good choices and the fact that my locations usually get a flush, and fresh nutes after the spring floods.

stoner's going Sativa?....I hope we don't have to wait until Christmas to see his bud shot...:D

Not if the Spring flowering works as planned.

They have had nearly a week of flowering conditions now, I am starting to see pre-pre-flowers now. They should be finished in late June.

It's is the Train Wreck component that I am looking for. If what I saw last year holds true, I expect a mid to late October finish. That is right at the limits of my climates ability to support plant life.
