this is a ridiculous law though, and has nothing to do with anyone's rights. it is a simple political maneuver by very misled politicians, but that's business as usual for them.

Americans are funny for sure though... in Tel Aviv you can see in the bathroom of a restaurant scenes like this:

two gay dudes having some sort of argument, a Muslim washing before prayer and a Jew taking a leak lol... no one really gives a fuck... live and let live and don't let politicians tell you what is right, regardless of spectrum. if you have not figured this out by now, you need to drop some acid or something quick!

I don't see the problem as being the transgenders use of the bathroom but rather the fact that to please the transgenders,
all men will now have the legal right to use any public bathroom in NYC.

the point is that this law helps no one and it is merely a political stunt.

This law, more than anything else, removes the parents' choice in when to expose their children to alternative lifestyles.

There's no winning for the vast majority of "normal" NYC restroom users.

If transgender only restrooms were created, that would be segregationist.

Instead, 99.5% of standard bathroom users have to change to accomodate .5%.

That this is even an issue isn't right. Nothing that small relative to a greater proportion should dominate a discussion, especially in a democracy.

Sex refers to male or female, while Gender refers to masculine or feminine.

I find this so ironic considering the orthodox, Hasidim and Sephardic communities here shun their own kids from the community if they are gay.

I can't give a statistic to risk for either side but I do think that people who can't protect themselves should be given priority to those who can.

I do think incidence for genetic gender confusion is less than it is for expression of sex crimes.

I don't have a problem with extending bathrooms to transgenders but I do have a problem with it extending to anyone who decides they identify with being a different gender.

Can I get woman owned business minority status and benefit that come with it because I identify with that gender?
