AOC denies (to Gaetz, in person) there's any plan for the D's to save McCarthy's efforts by making agreements, and she confirmed this with D leadership. The rest is apparently all loose speculation.

Keep in mind that 118 returning republican congresspeople are to be sworn in who voted on the night of 1-6 a year ago to overturn the election and overthrow the government . These are insurrection supporters.
One more.... 18 of the new republican congress people come from democratic districts. Certainly their constituents have expectations and the congress people have their futures to think of. Only 6 of those are needed to flip and elect Jeffries. If this drags out the chance of this happening increase.

Beau of the 5th had an interesting idea - Senior DNC leadership go to KM and offer to help get him over the hump in exchange for a few choice concessions. He then went on to say it's probably too late now though. Still, next few days are going to be fun.
The Dems could bring an offer that if they indict Trump they will vote present lol.
