Good Job Quiting

This is such an awesome thread . I am so proud of every one of you . You will be so glad you quit. I have been tobacco free for almost 8 years now... I am so glad . I remember when i first quit i had a mantra that i would repeat to help keep me strong .... i would say " cigarettes are killin me And my family ... i need to stop smoking " > This helped me by saying it out loud... I truly hope all of you can be succesful in your giving up of tobacco. All the luck in the world to you all
much love from the babba family

ps just for the record i was a heavy equipment operator for many years and smoked 3 packs aday .. if i can do it i know you all can do it ....... good luck !

I am glad that a man of your status has taken this nasty habit on.
my wife had a massive heart attack on 7 21 1994,she was a smoker all her adult life, she was 43 when the attack hit,she had to have a bilateral bypass, that is where they open you up from the top of your chest to below the belly button and remove all of your intestines and organs to get at the lower aorta ,which runs along the spine from the bottom of your heart to supply blood flow to your legs, they replaced it and sewed her back up,she was smoke free for one year and when the memory dulled she began smoking again, she was in and out of hospitals for the next six years then they had to once more replace the lower aorta, because it was clogged up again from the smoking,on her first heart attack she lost a large portion of the heart,it just died and it will never grow back !!!!!!when they started to open her up this time, they felt it would kill her no matter what,so the doctors at baylor in Dallas had to preform a radical bypass, this is where they place a tube into the large vain running from the heart to the right arm and pass it under the skin down to the right leg and Y it off to the left leg,so then the legs will have a blood supply,it all comes from the right arm,her whole lower body and right arm run off the blood that is for one arm !she still smoked !on thanksgiving eve in 2001 this artificial blood flow became clogged at the waist and she lost all blood flow to both legs, she was taken to a small local hospital and sent home, being told to see her own doc as soon as possible, she sat at home on my ranch alone for 5 days,I was a merchant marine and was out to sea, when seen by her GP she was rushed back to baylor and admitted,by this time both legs were black from no blood, they preformed a miracle and saved her legs but with severe nerve damage, she was wheelchair bound, she still continued to smoke, its been three years and she once again is able to walk, but she is still smoking, she is couch bound most of the time, and I grow some strong stuff for her to smoke as the nerves are very painful in both legs and feet, and she will not give up the cigarettes, this is not a call for pity for her or me,its only letting you know that the costs far outweigh the joys,I had quit smoking 10 years before her problems began and am so glad I did,I went from 2 packs a day to none cold turkey and I used the lie to your self method,I will have a smoke after this and then after this and so on and so forth until it was six months later and I had kicked the habit,I hope this insight might help someone to give it up and live your life as if it the first day every day.

God Bless you and your sweet wife sir. Ronielee has had to watch the decline of someone he loves. He has wished he could help more but this addiction can be like sacks of gold dragging us to our grave in Davy Jones locker. Isn't it sad that we can'f figure out how to fix addictions? My mother had a dream once...

She saw many people chained to rocks as the tide came in upon them. She told me in her dream she saw that their chains were their addictions. She said the sad part was that when she looked closer she saw that they had the keys to release themselves from their bonds all the time but they wouldn't use them.

Are you your brothers keeper? Yes, you are. Even when we try to care for and fix every problem it doesn't always work out. This is so sad. I can barely tell you how moved I am by peoples testimonies here. I rarely get through this without tears. :(

While working in a hospital for many years I remember a case that just tore a hole in me. It wasn't that uncommon but how often do you see a 10 year old boy who is paralyzed? Have you ever seen a bright young lad so afflicted? Can you imagine your childhood without legs?

That boy did nothing to have that curse unless perhaps in a past life but wtf? How can a system so just and kind seem so unjust sometimes?

We just can't see the big picture. All we can do is try our best to live a healthy life for our families and ourselves. America is a sick place spreading its sickness to the rest of the world but we are all just people. Nobody is evil or to blame for anything.

In reality everything is hunky dory but it makes you cry to see the sufferring and that could change some day. I believe in the coming of a new age and the prospect of a peaceful world where people matter more than money. BOG :)

Start with yourselves...we must help each other overcome the ignorance upon which all delusion is based.

I am back BOG,

I told you a while back that my roomate and I were both addicted to chewing tobaco, and I couldn't quit unless he did. Well it is day one and we are both pulling our hair out. I have a few patches left over from the last failed attempt, and have moral support now as well.

Wish us both luck BOG, we have a long road ahead of us.

Hello all,
happy something or other...
no cigs since 03/31/01! fifth time quitter-haha
i quit because the next day i was having my second hip replacement and was not going to be able to smoke in hospital.....i guess i quit with the help of a morphine pump, and then vicodin :yummy: .

after rehab, i really had the urge to start again, but i have been able to resist.

got a vaporizer (inavap) about a year ago.

good luck to anyone trying to quit-you CAN do it!!! there's a lot of support here if you need it.

Merry Christmas, with love.

BOG I read the first 5 pages and relised this thing is 26 pages.Im so sore now from sitting and reading.
I like many others here, even w/the death of my MOM from lung cancer have been smoking a steady pack a day for 25+ years,Along w/weed.I know its coming and KNOW I got to OVER come this nasty nicotine. I Just some how I stumbled on this thread.I dont get out of the growers forum much.I have never tried the patch, but Im surely gonna give this one a serious go.That was my NEW Years resalution.

I think with this lil support thread going just might be what I need....
Im still pretty damn healthy>>Thank God!! But I surely feel it.I will be reading the other 20 pages when I break weak.
Thanks BOG.

This is crazy how many people are inspired to quit smoking for some Bog seeds. At the beginning of this contest I was the one asking how many times we could start over:) But it has been a lil easier then I thought.(So far).My g/f never thought I would quit smoking. She's so proud of me.If I started again she would probably kick me out of my own house.I told her about Bogs offer and told her that is why I originally quit and all she had to say is "those must be some good f*cking seeds!".I then showed her a couple of Bog's pics I have saved of some crystaled up nugs and she then proceeded to tell me "you better quit smoking" .So now that she knows about the seeds there is no way I could let her down now :) Im not even sure how much longer I have to go cuz im not really trying to keep track. You know the whole "one day at a time" thing.

Anyway thanks again for helping alot of us quit ciggs Bog.You may have just helped some of us live a little longer. Thanks

Listen to the BOG man he knows, this is the best thread I have ever come across upon the internet. Just blaze a big blunt every time you get that craving, and if you want to smoke a cig to "intensify" the effects afterwards your going to have to smoke another blunt to your dome. Thank you BOG for your support to the people. I will be growen some SC99 soon and will try to spread the wealth with the nice yields she will surely bring and get more people hooked on the good stuff. -PEACE andPOT

When you feel weak just say, "nam-myoho-renge-kyo" say that several times a day for a month and see how your life takes a turn for the better. Know that when enough of us chant this our new age will become reality and peace will reign. BOG

BOG.I figure by new years I can learn how to say this word
Because I will surely be chanting it...Hey BOG maybe start A New Years Resolution thread and have previouse quiters come in for support? Im still going back to prevouse pages but if you could bring in ALL who want to join in
