The first door is 3 days and you have opened the door gwfh. Some people can quit without patches or help but I think they help a lot and they cost less that cigerettes so please get some of the 7 mg patches (weak ones) and use them to avoid all the irritability. People have a few fights and say wtf? Why should we get a divorce over this? Then they often give up on quitting. Your friends may even tell you to just start smoking again to get you happier but dont.
After you quit you will feel good about yourself everytime you see the poor addicts outside smoking in the cold. You will realize the freedom that comes from a little discipline for a time. Find a way but find your way somehow to freedom because not only will you get higher on your pot. You will also be higher on life and yourself so you will be better able to love the ones around you. Do it for the future which seems hopeless for smokers of the poison weed called tobacco. BOG
Thank you so much BOG. I am still going stong day 5. Smoking lots of herb for the bitchiness, lol. My hubby has been cheating now and again but I just load another bowl or roll another doobie. I have been doin alot better than I expected to be doin'. I can't wait for the wanting a cig feeling to go awaySo once again thanks for startin this thread and givin us the perfect goal... BOG SEEDS, lol, just kidding. Not really though since my hubby got hurt the mula is tight so when could we ever get your seeds lmao. Gotta boogie. Need more gum lol.
OK, so my story is similar to a lot of peoples...have been a smoker for 13 years and love smoking cigarettes--seriously, I love to smoke. I realized, however, that I have been watching the people around me ruin themselves with addictions of various sorts from booze to coke and whatever else. I get so angry with them, wondering why these people I care about are killing themselves with the horrible habits, and 'why don't they just stop?' And then, late last year, I looked at myself in the mirror and I could SEE the age on my face...and realized the pains and coughing weren't going away like they used to, and holy shit, I'm killing MYSELF with smokes and booze and only I can change that. I just have to take control of my own life...no-one can tell you what to do, just like my friends didn't care when I got angry with them, and I can stop this crap if I just decide to do that, stop. So, I'm at day 10 and just now starting to really believe that I actually can quit. Hell, I share my apt with a pack-and-a-halfer, so it's frickin hard, but I least I probably don't need the patch with the second hand smoke
Anyway, I hear what everyone's saying, it's rough, but we need these extra years if we're gonna smoke all the strains we want, weed only grows so fast
peace

I think anyone who masters their desires can attain enlightenment in this lifetime. The key is to realize that the desires don't actually go away but transform into positive behaviors both for your health and the good of others.
Suddenly when you realize that you are full of goodness...that you really are a great person who can make a difference...you forgive your self.
We hold our sins against ourselves and this is the third and less known type of karma. Love yourselves enough to take care of your body and by maintaining the inner happiness we spread it like a virus.
Everywhere you pass others can feel the love you begin to project as you sing.
In your heart you will sing. We will all sing and be so happy.
That's my prediction and you can't stop it because even though Earth is out of synch right now these things can't exist for too long. The universal law will make certain the problem on Earth is fixed. Just watch this happen but change begins within you.
Be full of Goodness. Love what is right and just. Be the person you believe you could be by being true to yourself. You are the future of this planet so make it good. BOG
Hi there BOG and all the other Non-Smokers
Well I'm still goin strong. And I totally agree with hilljack after meals and the big wake-n-bake session is really hard cravin times. The worst is the after sex smoke

I am a Non-Smoker!
Good luck to all of us! Go smoke a joint instead
Day 14...
So far, so good...the not smoking while drinking was killing me, but i actually got through a night of drinking at a bar without smoking---i think that's the first time in about 12 years, wow...
Still, it's getting harder to slay kings as i get fatter and fatter...lol
I did it! January 13 was 12 weeks, and officially 3 months will be on the 21st. I believe the hardest part was the first 3 days, to those who are just starting, if you can make it through that first door of 3 days, then it is very possible to quite smoking. I would like to thank everyone, especially BOG, who has posted in this thread, believe it or not, your words are great inspiration to anyone trying to quit. peace to everyone and never give in.
I agree the first three days are the worst, you are sitting around thinking "I should be getting a snuff right now". My roomate is doing it well too, that crazy SOB comes in a day after we quit snuffing with a pack of cigarettes. He is like "you said we were going to quit dipping, you didn't say we can't smoke" I just laughed, what reasoning was going through his head?
Hey This is an Awesome thread! BOG, Thank You very much for caring about everyones health! I truly hope all of you can give up those nasty lung darts, so you all can take bigger bong hits!!! Here is my story! Ok, when I was a kid I would follow adults around who were smoking and when they would throw down the cigarette, I would pick it up and puff away! lol I was i guess 5 when i started doing this, I vividly remember doing it in front of a K-Mart when I was like 5! lol I had an uncle who smoked & when I went to my Grandmas house, I would raid the ash tray for my uncles butts to smoke em up! Nasty I know!lol Then when I turned 12 yrs. old I started smoking daily. Any brand I could score, I would burn em up! Benson&Hedges, Magna, Viceroy, Capris, Merit, lol any & all smokes! I found that Cowboy Killas were my fav, so I stuck with them. I continued to smoke cigs along with herb for the next ten years! When I was 22 yrs. old. I was coughing non stop, and I was smoking up to 2 packs a day with chest pain and shortness of breath! I had to stop or I was never going to feel good again! So I decided to roll my whole crop into joints. Everytime I wanted to smoke a cig, I smoked a joint instead! This is a tried & true method to quit smoking cigs! I have never relapsed, but I have had dreams about smoking and I was ashamed of myself for smoking in my dreams. I now hate the smell of cigs and don't want to be around them. I would even test myself by getting really drunk to see if I would smoke or not. The coughing & pain just are not worth it! I still have my last pack of Marlboros, I will keep it to remind me of the damage that I did to my body. What really helped me decide to quit smoking was a macromedia flash presentation I saw on I think truth.com or something like that. The flash presentation showed the human body and when you take the mouse and put it on a certain body part, it would show you the way smoking cigs damages that part of the body, & believe me smoking rips your whole system apart at the roots! If not for that flash presentation, I might have never seen the damage in the light that I saw it in. From baldness to testicular cancer. Head to toe damage!!! It is so not worth it to kill yourself for a weed that doesnt even benefit anyone other than the BIG tobacco companies! Here are the plants that I rolled for joints to stop smoking cigs! I will smoke herb for the rest of my life! Never again will I be so Naive to put another cigarette in my mouth! I pray that all of you folks are successful with this! I know it is not easy, but it is possible, & it is so worth it to quit! Things will start to smell & taste better, & you will live a better quality of life without cigs stinking it up! Good Luck Everyone! I Know You Can Do It!!! Again, Thanks BOG for what you are doing, I know everyone here appreciates it also! Peace sw!
p.s. I want sum of that lifesaver too! lol
It makes me happy to hear of all the people who have joined against the those truly nasty bastards.
an update for me:
I haven't had a puff since sep 27th. The big test for me has been over the last month. I moved to the bay area from the midwest, been kinda a stressful process. Also went out drinking a bunch before I moved, I had a few urges but I found they passed quickly. Iam at a point now were I really feel like a non smoker. As a result I've been healthier as a whole, exercise, food, etc...I just all around feel lighter in the body, mind and heart. I've also felt rewarded by the fact that I've accomplished something that I've only managed to talk about in the past. I've also managed to get my girlfriend to join me in our abstanance. She's on 1 month so far.
all in all things are a lot brighter as a result of breaking the head lock smokes had on me.
Good luck to those who have just begun and congrats to those who have tasted the sweetness of success

Did you post earlyier in this thread applefarmer? It has been getting pretty long and lots of people are collecting their seeds. I am so happy about that.
You see when I give it comes back to me. Where do you suppose my seeds come from? They come from the bounty that keeps us all alive.
How many have I given away? How many were given to me? I should be dead now but I was spared so what do I work for?
This paramedic has been given his dream come true. You have all helped me see that I can do good and make a real difference for peoples lives. It's weird but people go through things for a reason and my bypass operation changed me. Healthy living is possible and you can feel proud of yourself.
I just had a bunch of seeded Lifesavers finish for me. This strain never fails to produce seeds copiously so its a gift from above and sharing a few with you is nothing. Feel free to quit and collect the seeds because someone has been kind to me. All I ask is that you consider passing on this blessing. BOG
.......I must confess.....I tried smoking a couple of those bloody enormous Cuban cigars.......I think that it was called a 'Monte' Christo?'....or something like that....
...Gawd!....do they pong!...
....next morning my mouth felt like two sheep had slept in it......
Well you know I have had occasional fall backs Gypsy but I hate the way I feel when smoking tobacco. Mrs. BOG helps me keep on track and when I ski at high altitude I need all the wind I can get. Keep me off the Scotch in Amsterdam.
Gypsy was once a tobacco addict but he sees how insidious tobacco really is. BOG
