I am quitting on Jan. 1 with the help of Cannabis. I have been smoking cigarettes since I was eleven years old. I am now 52 years old. I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma when I turned 50. After the surgery they told me I was late stage and my best expectation of survival was 30% over five years. That was two years ago now and I am still alive and I attribute this to Marijuanna. Few people know this unless they are medical professionals, (I worked in Pastoral Care) but people don't die of cancer. They die from heart problems, lung problems (like pnuemonia) and sepsis. Even kidney failure can result in sepsis for example. So, when someone dies from cancer it is the consequences of the cancer and the lowered immune system. I believe that Marijuanna has saved my life more than once. Twice, when I ran out I got deathly ill. I had an infection in my remaining kidney the one time, and the second time I ended up with pnuemonia. I haven't even so much as had a cold though since smoking this stuff, as long as I don't run out, I don't get sick. It helps with my other conditions as well. I have IBS, Dystonia, arthiritis, fibro, hypothyroidsim, etc. etc. approx a dozen separate conditions. I wish I had of discovered marijuanna for my other medical problems long before I was diagnosed with cancer. My life would have been so much different.
I believe that Marijuanna can also help me to quit smoking. I am going to give it a try. I know it's kinda like closing the barn after the horse got out, but the way my lungs feel, I know it can't be a bad thing. Cigarettes have had a hold on me for a long, long time. Again, Marijuanna holds out hope for saving life. You see, I am just so amazed with this medicine.
I believe that Cannabis is a miracle drug. I could die tomorrow, but I have already beaten the odds. Doctors are suprised that I am still cancer free. Kidney cancer is such an unpredictable and virulent form of cancer that even many people with stage one kidney cancer don't make it. I am stage three. I think I know why I am still here.
I cannot prove it but I believe that Marijuanna extends, beautifies, and saves lives.

The first three weeks were not as bad as I thought, maybe I can do this. As long as I am doing something, it is easier not to think about it. I sleep alot more, and smoke alot more, but in the end it will be worth quitting.

Almost a month, the worst is behind me!

THC has been shown to have an anti carcinogenic effect and I honestly believe Marijuana to be one of the very good medicinal herbs. A pallative for many illnesses but also specific actions perfect for so many sick people. How many illnesses cause nausea and poor appetite? Most.

The arguments against the use of marijuana are very weak indeed when you consider our rights to practice our religions and to our privacy in our homes and in our bodies.

Truly this planet cannot reach enlightment with hemp outlawed because the sheer ludicrous nature of prohibition. Why can't everyone see the truth?

I don't car why you quit and if my seeds make you quit then I am happy. For Flying Bimbo I have a word for you. Quit! WTF mon? Get the big patches now and pray that this hasn't come too late. Don't expect marijuana to save you forever because it can't. Since this is very crucial I will tell you what some caring people told me.

"You can't smoke anymore. You just quit Mr. ! And that is that sir. I am telling you now but do as I say and I will make you a promise. You can live another 30 years. BOG

First, I dont post much but here I go.

Read your story back in early October and I quit smoking after 16 years. Scared the shit out of me thinking about the doctors ripping open my chest. Going on almost 3 months and it has been much easier than I thought. Every time I got the craving I would read BOG`s first post here. Why that post had such a huge effect on me, I still dont know. I dont care at this point because I believe I`m done with nicotine for good.

For all of you who are trying and have not broken through, hang in there! Never quit trying. You will find the answer, some it`s the gum, others the patch, some it`s a related health issue and some a scary story. Most of us have friends that smoke and being around them while trying to quit is virtually impossible. The first few weeks I stayed in as much as I could and limited my exposure to nicotine. Now I hang out with friends that are smoking near me and it`s no problem at all. There is a bit of craving but nothing I cant handle.

For BOG a huge THANK YOU! You have touched so many and I only hope to touch someone else like you have me.

I quit smoking tobacco three years ago after smoking a pack and a half from 82 to 02. I used the gum method as well as cold turkey. It took about a year i used the gum and smoked at the same time about five cigarettes a day. I knew that this made quiting harder but it was the only way i could handle it.

My motivation was simple my father had drank all his life. He quit drinking after he was given less then a year to live due to the damage done to his liver. Ironically he died of lung cancer less then two years later. And yes i don't drink often but when i do i tend to binge and could easily fall into the same destructive pattern that destroyed my father's life.

LOL and they say cannabis is more harmful then legal drugs what morons eh.

:frown: Back on the tobakky wagon. Man I felt great before I started again...you think 'awe one wont hurt' bam...once I get my courage up again I will attemt it again.

Within a week of winning some Bog seeds i folded under the pressure :( I almost had 3 months untill I started smoking again sometime in the days after christmas :(
I have another addiction I am working on getting myself off. I was in a car accident and was prescribed oxycontins for my back last year.To make a long story short i got addicted to painkillers and to get me off the pain killers my Dr precribed me methadone (which I think is worse) to get me off painkillers. Anyway I ran out of methadone the day after christmas and thought I was going to die. The withdrawl feelings hit me very fast and I hate it. Anyway I was crazy sick and at some point started smoking.I finnally got a new precription but still had been smoking,up untill New years. Ofcourse this is my NewYears resolution is to quit smoking for good and finnally get myself off methadone!

I hate addictions and I know all about them.Smoking bud really helps so much.It has been a godsend to me :)

Bog save me a pack of seeds as I will do better this time. Been ciggerrette free since Jan 1st now wish me luck. I will do better this time.

Hey there BOG! Well today is day 1. I have decided that my kids don't need any help starting. My oldest son has started sneakin around, stealing my cigs, my lighters, &/or matches so he can be like mom and dad. I started the same way, I wanted to be like my grandma. I don't want any of my three beautiful kids smoking. All I can say is GOD give me the strength to quit for good AMAN! And by the way BOG thanks for the added incentive of seeds. That in itself was almost a good enough reason lmao :OD!!!!
I can do it!

Mike, send me your address now. We will just call it a temporary relapse due to stress and if you say you will quit perhaps having the seeds will help you.

gwfh, realize that your kids may smoke anyways but get the patches and quit. You will probably become a real bitch for awhile but the patches help a lot. Certainly you will become an anti smoking zealot but remember how you hated when others told you that you were dumb for smoking. Just do it for yourself and smoke pot instead. Then if your kid steals your smokes at least he will get a buzz instead of a monkey.

Never think you can't do something. Never say, "I will try." Say, "I fucking quit!"

No goal ever was accomplished with a maybe I will do it attitude so get your gumption up today. Go buy patches, gum, lozenges but no tobacco. Get a big fat bag of weed and rent "iRobot".

Sit and watch the movie and ask yourself, "Am I free with free will?"

I say you are your own master and if not then who will you allow your master to be? Phillip Morris? BOG

mojojojo, I am familiar with that syndrome and have you noticed that when angered it makes you want a cigarette? I feel the grumpiness from withdrawl can cause irritability and then when we have a temper tantrum due to the irritability we make our adrenalin flow. I guess when we feel the fight or flight reflex we instinctivly want to relax and tobacco is a way we cope once addicted. Even though it is a stimulant in reality. Weird huh? Just stay away from tobacco and dont drink much. BOG :)

Thanks Bog, I really appreciete it. You really are the man! You have been giving away seeds for years now.I think it is really great of you. Especially since more Bog seeds equals more killer buds :)
