shroomologist, first thing you need to know is that you CAN stop smoking. You need to stop thinking you can´t. You can do it bro ;), keep it in mind. You need to tell to yourself that you CAN stop smoking and that you DON´T need it anymore, everytime you want a smoke.

^^(This works bro)

I do believe that I can do it. It's just really hard. My nerves get really bad and I eat constantly if I quit smoking. Is there anything that will help with these withdrawl symptoms?

been 1 month

been 1 month

I spent a few days helping my uncle move about 2 weeks ago, and he's been a tobacco smoker for a large part of his life, smoking about 2 packs a day, and i could see the effects smoking all of those years has on him, really bad smokers cough, and he said he has some kinda infection in his gums that wont go away, not sure what its call, but he said he gets a ball of puss on his gums, and it hurts. This really made me believe i could stop smoking. It's been a little over 1 month, almost 5 weeks, but it is very hard that 1st week. A friend of mine brought me some patches, and they did help me out, as i used them for almost a week. I still get that urge, especially if we go out drinking, but I think it's slowly going away. But photo, it is definitely worth it, your body will thank you for it. Like BOG said, whenever you get that urge, pick up a joint instead of that tobacco.

Wow I am looking back at this thread feeling like it has already been 3 months for me :) I still have not broke down and had a ciggerrette yet. When I get the urge I smoke some bud. Its getting kinda expensive but I have to quit smoking. Now that I am not smoking I cant stand the smell of smoke.Kinda weird but I still would love to have a cig. But My g/f might leave me and more importantly I wont win any Bog seeds.Im still not sure if I will make it but it is easier not to smoke when I stay home more. The urge to smoke hits me alot when I am out at clubs and bars. I have been taking alot of trips to the car to hit my lil glass travel bowl. If I win these seeds I will be one step closer to my dream garden filled with all Bog and Rez genes. I have my Rez genes I just need some Bog's now:)

Btw Bog great job w/ the SourBubble looks like a winner!

your not alone flipmastermike, the smell of tobacco alone makes me not have cravings, but rather a feeling of being about to vomit because i can't stand the smell of cigarettes anymore. had to kick both my roommates out because they were smokers. after the first two weeks, its downhill from there.

Just now saw this thread

I'd been smoking pretty much for 30 years. I quit a very stressful job about 4 months ago. About 2 weeks after I quit my job, I'm laying at home on the couch with a bad chest cold. I'm lighting up a cig, coughing my ass off, cant breath because of the cold and here I am smoking cig after cig, about 2.5 paks a day.
I said to myself, this is bullshit, i've always blamed my job for smoking, well I quit that job i've hated for years, so fuck it i'm quiting smoking too. Right then cold turkey I put out a cig, trashed all the rest and havent smoked one since :) I've quit before, but i've decided this time is it no matter what, heart disease runs in my family, my dad had bypass surgery 7 years ago and never lit up a smoke his whole life. His came from a stressful job according to his doc plus it just runs in our family. Well I had all the strikes against me, smoked, over weight, stressfull job, high blood presure. I'm doomed to die

Well I got rid of the job and the smokes, the blood presure is coming down, I dont get winded easy like I did, Ive gained 20lbs so I need to work on that, but most importantly I quit the cigs and plan on staying quit.
Its also nice having an extra 35 bucks in my pocket everyweek that i never had before

Flipmaster, your g/f loves u. Know what is worth keeping and what should be thrown away. It is hard at times but as time goes by the urges become weaker and shorter lived. Doesn't quitting any addiction suck? Let's not have to do this again eh? :)

70's pothead, a lot of us are hooked up on tobacco and that gives herbalists like us a bad connotation. Perhaps we can live without the crap. You will find a form of exercise fun and when you do this the weight will come off and then some. Usually we gain weight when quitting tobacco. The poisons keep us thinner. :(

Sir Smoke alot, good work man! :)

You all know that I love you. Seeds are nothing compared to helping you quit. I dont mind saving your life so let me. This is good for my karma so consider it self serving. It really is better to give than to receive. BOG

Hi shroomologist, we need to change our minds bro, we need to cheat them. :) If we think it is easy, it will be easy, if we think it is hard, it will be hard.

I cheated myself on day one, when i woke up that morning i told to myself:

-Hey man, you´ve been 20 days bacco-free, today is day 21 and you don´t need it any more, you are no longer a bacco smoker. It´s great!

Every time i wanted to smoke i told to myself, -Hey man, you´ve been 20 days bacco-free, today is day 21 and you don´t need it any more, you are no longer a bacco smoker. It´s great!. I felt weird for 4-5 seconds, then i felt much better and packed a one hitter.

I´m eating sugar-free candys, and drinking lots of water to keep my stomach happy. And as Bog said, nicotine patches help, but i think you wouldn´t like to use them for too long, just for the first days.

Tomorrow it will be my 21st tobacco-free day. This is really one of the best things i´ve done in last 3 years.

G13, pm me for your Lifesaver seeds. :)

This is the finest thing I have ever done. With so little effort my seeds are making a positive difference in peoples lives. I couldn't save many people as a paramedic because by the time we were needed it was often too late.

This saddened me and all the time I smoked 2 packs a day. I felt awful.

What else have we but love for each other? Why can't we all be more grateful for all our blessings? Why have I been so blessed all my life?

Because there is one law of love that transcends all laws. This law is karma. Cause and Effect plain and simple. Be good to yourselves because we are all one.

Goo goo be jube... BOG

 Day 19!!!!!And feelin good. O.k.Bog i told my daughter everything that happened(not that i was drunk, just that i smoked)and she wasnt as dissapointed as i thought she would be.She said from what shes heard and what her mother went through that she thought it might be tough. She knows im trying ,and shes not alittle girl shes very smart.(my baby! :p ).So on i go,its been tough but i will not fail again-i hope-.I love my baby and if this can help her in anyway to stay away from cigs,-watching me cough and choke in the mornings helps-then im happy and ill feel better too. With all the weed smoke that goes in my lungs its a wonder i had time to smoke smog.I smoke so much weed, that my last piss test i pissed straight bong water.Suffice to say,i failed :p .Just kiddin.Point is i smoke alot. Now that i quit and everyone else is stil smokin its just as bad,now i second hand smoke 2 packs a day. :smoke: lol--Congrats G13 and good luck Verge and Hilljack

bog dude this thread is hitting home for me .
the thing about the doors damn, good analogy.
i stopped smoking like 2 months ago and i find the hardest thing is to
stop fiending ive been smoke free for awhile but i never imagined how hard it would be.
well i knew it would be hard but i never thought id be tripping for a smoke two months after i quit.

i got these rizzla papers that have a filter and shit so i put my leaf i save in them and smoke it like a cig. it is a cig but with leaf in it.
well bog i gotta say thanks for helping people out in this situation where a lot of people can get down on thereself and make it real hard to quit.

good luck to any smoker who is trying to quit.
