Congrats all of you!!!!!!!I have tryed to quit twice now since i first read this thread.Reading what happened to BOG and loved ones made me think about it.I read through this thread and was thinking about it harder than ever before. But two weeks ago i caught my 17 yr old daughter smoking with her friends in my garage. We had a long talk of me freakin out and almost goin as far as wanting to make her smoke a whole carton -never would do that, just seen it on that 70's show-After her tellin me Well you smoke, right there my heart kinda sunk.So after the talk we both decided that we would never smoke again ,and i know im gonna try my hardest cuz she will never let me be if she catches me smokin.Im doin it for her more than me.Good luck everyone and double yer bud puffin(its helped me so far)13 days!!!!!!!!!!keep yer lungs tabaccy free!!

Congrats to Kim and best of luck to all those committed to leaving the poison behind so that they can live to enjoy the love of their families and friends. Isn't it a no brainer? The third door isnt the last door but it is a major success for a tobacco-holic.

I was touched by the true feelings expressed so well by DanceswithWeed. We quit for ourselves but also to try and set a good example for our young ones. I know how it feels to see your child saddled with the same addiction. It must have hurt you to see your beloved daughter inhale the filth just to become addicted with no real benefit to be found. What a hopeless curse tobacco addiction really is. At least you can understand most addicts because alcohol or opiates at least give a rush or a high for a time. Tobacco is something that makes your feel uptight rather than relaxed so it is really a moronic addiction.

The costs are just too high and only you can commit to your goal by saying not that you will try but that you will do. No matter what happens. We can live without it. BOG :)

Its been nearly a year since i picked up smoking full on again and ill i can say is that cigarettes is the true devils weed not marijuana.

Be strong and stick with it if you can, good luck!

Smoke more marijuana and have a chuckle :), keep your hands and mind busy. Chew gum, drink more water, excersise more. Anything to keep your mind of those dreaded cravings...

All the best to you all,
Leeroy

PS: Dont kick yourself too hard if you fall off the horse.

I still muck up and have one every now and then especially if im drunk, which isnt that often these days.

Keep it up!!!

Keep it up!!!

Thanks for the support that everyone has showed all the quitters(for once its a good thing)in this thread.Yeh Bog,its all about my daughter. She had told me after we talked that it was only 2 months since she started smokin and that she would never touch it again as long as i didnt-i believe-.And i know i can keep that promise to her just for the fact that the conversation we had about this was very emotional-due to the fact that i consider her my baby-and stone solid promises were made. And it doesnt hurt that im chewin nicoret all the time and have patches on my neck, toungue and back. lol Just kiddn :p Anyone remember in school the nurse bringin in a smoked up lung in a ziplock bag to show you what would happen if you smoke?,yum... But i have not had a lapse since -and now my girlfriend is tryin to quit just to help me,what a woman! Ive only been smokin 10 years, shes been since 15 so 19 years 4 her. Thanks again everyone that cares enough about other people to encourage them to quit and help them through kind words and thoughts! And thanx to you Bog for givin people that little push that other wise would have never gotten things started. :canabis:.Keep it up Tricky,it wont b long. :)

Hey Bog this is a great thread.I actually quit smoking before I first posted in here a few weeks ago. I just cant beleive you are having this offer. To tell u the truth now that I know about this offer It has been one of my main reasons for quitting, that may not be the best reason. But I figure just as long as I can quite. To be honest I really dont think I will make it 3 months but Im damn sure gonna give it a try. Ithink if I do make it the three months I could probably quite for good. I have just been smoking alot more good bud :) I just hope people are really being honest and not taking advantage of the offer. But for the most part I think everyone here at IC so far are all really cool people. I have met up with a few and now have some more friends for life.

Hopefully I will be able to meet Bog and others if I can make it to one of the 420 cups :) Im dyin to try your SourBubble Bog.

Sorry for the Edit but Bog if we relapse can we start over again?? I would assume so but you may be out of seeds by then :)

You guys can do it, don't worry. I never thought I could, but with support of my family and BOG, I did it. June 1st was the day I quit, and it's been awhile since then...

I'm glad I toughed it out and got it out of my life. You will be too...

Sorry about your daughter DancesWithWeed, but it's good to know that you two are in it together, helping each other out. Sometimes it's nice to have someone there by your side.

"We become experts at quitting the more times we have to do it.'' BOG

Of course you get as many chances as you will take my friends. Take advantage of my offer? What if a couple do? The seeds will fail for them because its just karma...

In case you didn't know it there is justice in the universe...

What a fantastic thread!! I had been a smoker for the past 7 years. I never truly enjoyed it. The past couple of years I've developed chronic sinus problems and I'd be willing to bet my grow room it was from the CIGS. I managed to cut back drasticly the amount I smoked, from a pack'na 1/2 a day to not even buying packs, but rolling a smoke 3-4 times aday, pretty much to just get the nicotine fix. I've been wanting to quit for awhile now.

Its been roughly 40 days since I've had my last smoke. I was at my mothers home a few days before I quit and I noticed that she had a box of those commit lozenges. I asked if she had a been using them. Long story short I ended up taking them home with me. THEY WORKED, it only took me 1 box to get past the worst of the withdrawls. Funny thing is the directions on the box recomend no less then 8 PER DAY! I needed half that amount. I 'm convinced I would have been more addicted from the lozenges then to the real deal.

They defenitely helped though. Now I just have to convince my mother and girlfriend to stop.
I've also noticed that my sense of smell is IN-FUCKIN-CREDIBLE. And the smell of tobacco from my girlfriends hands or breath make me damn near gag!

I feel very proud to have made it this far, and the way I feel now phycologicaly, I'll never take another puff of those nasty lil devils.
Good luck to everyone,
my story
-AF

This is the first time I read through the thread, I always see it, but I turn my head, Like you said Bog, we don't like people telling us to quit.

I do not smoke cigarettes, but I do use Skoal or Snuff or Smokeless tobacco whatever you call it, and it is just as bad as cigarrettes.

My grandmother and grandfather both died of smoking and my mom quit when I was a kid. It runs in my family is what got me thinking.

I will quit Bog, maybe not today or tommorrow, but real soon I will get serious. And I need your support Bog, I know you will be there!

I have a harvest coming up in about three days, that should be enough to get me started quitting, yes, I will be smoking alot more bud!

Bog, I will be back when I have decided to quit, I will see you in a few days, and my roomate has to quit too, he will if I will, but it will take me stepping up and him following my example. For you Bog, I will try and save both our lives, not just my own.

Be sure you don't under estimate how much more bud you will smoke. I smoke 2x at least per day. My 1.5oz or so harvest from 3 weeks ago is already almost gone except for maybe a 1/4 oz tops, if that much. No new plants started yet, so this is going to be fun. Luckly, i've already had 2 months since I quit smoking cigs, I can finally run for first time in years without getting too winded.

great idea Bog :)

I´ve been smoking for 7-8 years. Last 2 years smoked 2 paks/day.
Past wednesday went to see the doctor, cose my head was hurting as hell and just had passed a flu. Doc told me i had some sinu.

My chest hurts, i can´t run, and now some sinu, so on saturday evening i smoked my last death-stick.

It´s been 3 days and i can tell you that i haven´t felt like this in years. I can breath man, i´ve just rediscovered it, lol. And don´t want to lose my new ability.

You know in Europe some of us use to mix a little tobacco with our hash/weed when smoking joints. Since saturday i´ve been smoking out of my bong, but i miss jjoints..

Do i have to stop smoking mixed joints if i want to stop smoking cigs? This is my question. :)

You want to quit using tobacco, it doesn't matter how you use it, you are still using it. It has to be up to you, but no tobacco means no tobacco. Three days, you must be itching to stay on, the first days are the worse, but if you are still smoking tobacco with a little weed in it, then you haven't quit.

You both just let me know when you make it through that 3rd door. You quit for 3 months and you get free Lifesaver Seeds.

Joe, remember that no one else is in charge of whether you quit or not. Don't try to quit...Just Do it! :) I know you are a man of intelligence but addiction isn't rational. I like the way you have been so honest sir. You show your beauty by admitting your faults and trying to fix them. We are all polecats ya know. ;)

If we can connect the fact that our love of our family and friends means so much more than the foolish addiction. Addicts aren't fools though. Why blame the victims?

I have faith in you both Joe and SuperToker. :)

Mountain Bud, I wonder if you are into the beginnings of emphysema. :( If you noticed a big change that fast your airways must have relaxed. You may be allergic to tobacco causing a constant inflammatory reaction. You may do as you wish but I suggest that you try pure cannabis joints. If you can obtain my sour bubble it seems to work very well for tobacco addicts trying to stay away from tobacco. It even smells a bit like tobacco smoke in the room and a joint smells like a cigar.

Lifesaver has been my most medicinal strain until now. sour bubble not only numbs your teeth but your whole body. I wish I had enough to start giving those away but give me time because I need the good karma. I am a polecat too people... ;) BOG

It will take me about 6 months to figure out all the changes here... :bashhead:
