Looking real good SS. Looks like a shower stall. Looks like your doing 1 hydro. Let me know how the smoke fairs against the soil.

mystaa177 that fantech should be plenty of air flow. I'm running a hydrofarm 265 cfm cage fan and I have 4 2 1/2" vent holes in the bottom shelf. I would say that you need more of an intake then if the temps are to high.

Okay, here's a question I am desperately trying to find an asnwer to:

I grow in a C13, under a 400W HPS and using a Waterfarm and I consistently get 4-5 ounces per harvest, regardless of strain.

If I were to use a SCROG under the same circumstnces, what kind of yield can I expect?

I'm looking from input from those who have actual experience with such a setup, not people looking to speculate; I've heard people speculate anywhere from 4 ounces to 20 ounces per harvest, which is useless.

Actual experiences are needed, please.

I had a similar setup; C13, 400W Switchable, DWC, SCROG. Ended up with 9.5oz after water cure and dry. I think it would have been around 11oz had I not water curred. The strain was AK99xWW and I had 2 females.
I'm currently using a DWC/Drip hybrid with 5 plants and expect a higher yeild.

WOW!

If I just got 8 ounces per harvest, I'd crap my pants!!

You certainly justified the extra effort, then.

Do you happen to have a grow log for this grow, to which I could refer?

*walks away, mumbling about how cool doing a scrog is gonna be next season...*

Unfortunately, Overgrow is no longer around . I had the grow fully documented. Since I installed the float valve, my PH and TDS are so easy to control that I can keep them where I want. It is a must have. JUST FUCKING GET ONE! But seriously, even if you have to run some 1/4" PEX, it is totally worth it. Next week, I'll be going on vacation for 5 days and I have full faith that my plants will be perfectly fine. Sometimes I only check them every 3 days as it is.

hey you guys rock with the C13s. i've been growing in a small u2 cabinet for over a year now under a 150 hps. i've been thinking of upgrading to a bigger cab and though of the c13. but now i can't find it in homedepot anymorre. just the c25. anyone got a suggestion on how to get a c13?

also what's the average fan size. light size. and yield you guys get?

i.ve got a 134 cfm dayton i'd love to keep using but it sounds like that would not be enough for a 400, right?

what about a 250 ? anyone running a 250 in a c13? what kinda yields could i expect?

This is my c24 cab I built

I spent a lot of spare time in making this. I lined the whole inside except the bottom with mylar using spray on adhesive and a paint roller.

I lined the edge of one door and the whole front outside edge of the cab with felt to make a light tight seal. Works perfect.

I originally planned on having 3 plants in here but this 1 just grew so huge so fast that I didn't have time to start 2 others. But what I did is I made some ground reflectors. I cut a piece of plywood the just short of the dimensions of the width and depth of the cab. I cut 3 holes in it just bigger than the lids of the buckets and then I cut the board down the middle into halves. I lined both boards with mylar on one side and tacked felt around the edge so it wouldn't scratch up the mylar on my cab while inserting and removing the boards. I put a cut down 2x4 on both sides of the cab about 14" up for the reflector plates to rest on.

I made this ground reflector to keep the ground reflection closer to the plant and to keep my lights from heating up my buckets so much. I cut it in half so if I need to work on a bucket I can just pull the front half out and open my lids and do what I need to

I built this screen to support the weight of my plant using cut down 2x4's, eye hooks and some polyester rope. I just weaves the rope between the eye hooks and pulled it really tight and used a thread and needle to hold the rope at the ends. I only used 2 pieces of rope. It is extremely strong.

I'm using a 400 watt digital ballast venting out the back using an inline fan..soon to be a vortex. I'm venting out the back to help keep it somewhat stealthy.

Here are some more shots of my cab and cherry tomato plant that is now about 7 weeks old.

I spend a lot of time on this and it still isn't near done. I'm also helping a friend build almost the same cab.

Thanks.
I built the cab last August, but ran out of budget for the HPS until a last week. The cfls did a god job, but I'm glad to finally get the HID going. I was almost tempted to finish the grow with the cfls and the grow style just to see what improvement I could get in yeild by actually matching the proper grow style to the lights. I foolishly attemped to grow trees under cfls last time DOH! The colas looked great, but were only dense for the top 3-4"

If you are who I think you are, are you still growing the JW nlxc99s? This will be the second generation of these. I'm anxious to see if the 3rd gen is any more potent as Marigyp and Skeeter used to say :D

As far as getting a C-13. That's going to be tough. The have been out of production for close to a year now. Shipping would cost an arm and a leg. You might consider any of the pre-made cabs at the local stores that are around the same dimensions. It seems the main downside to the slightly smaller cabs is getting a hood that will fit in properly. It's also not that hard t o add extra depth to the cabinet. Width is another story. I added an extra 9" to the depth of my c-13 with 1x10's. Melamine ripped to the proper size would have been cheaper and easier. Oh well, thats hindsight for ya.

Alot of c-13 growers use a 250. There used to be a big debate that a 400 is a c-13 is over-kill. But I see more folks are using a 400 now.

My setup is a 400w digital ballast with a Sunleaves Sunspot AC hood, 6"Vortech. My temps are just about 4-5 over, with ambient at ~72-74f. I only run the fan at about %25 to help keep the temps above 75 when the lights are on. Lights off temps are about 68-70.

notjonesnemore - thanks for the reply

it is me the same person you are thinking it is. I'm not growing the nl99 anymore, unfortunately I lost my mom. I still have 6 seeds but I haven't sprouted anymore yet. Marigyp and Skeeter are right - second gen from clone is usually a little stronger when only a short veg time is allowed from seed on the first gen - the biggest difference I found was bud density was greatly increased on the more mature cut at least that was my experience. It's kinda also what keeps me from dropping more of those beans. That is the extended veg time required to get back to where I was. anyways... still damn good stuff

as for the c13 - I've been looking at the c25 which is 29" wide and only 20" deep as the likely c13 replacement but I really was looking forward to the square foot print of the c13 - you say it's not a big deal to add extra depth? could you take a picture or two and show me how?

The 400 does seem like the best choice for lots of light. What kinda yields you get with the 400?

You said you run your fan at %25 - what's the CFM rating? I'm wondering if my 134CFM running at 100% is equivelant to your fan.

Glad to hear the nlc99 get better.

I made mine deeper by joining 1x10s around the back. I got the idea from pinecone on OG. He added 3/4 square stock to make his slightly deeper to fit his hood. I wanted to add just a little more depth to getter closer to square and ended up going with the 1x10s to add 9 inches in depth. I used Gorilla glue and wood biscuits to join the boards. Eventhough I bought the top grade lumber they had, I had to do a bunch of clamping and twisting to get the boards to mate up. This is why melmine would be an easier solution. Just buy a 4x8 sheet and have it ripped down to 8-12" strips depending on the depth you are looking to add.

Here is a shot of one of the top corners.

I used small L brackets and through bolted the corners for more strength. I also used 1/4" plywood for the back.

As far as yeild, this will be my first harvest under the 400, but I am hoping for close to 7-8 oz dry, but we'll see.

My fan is actually an Elicent, not a Vortech as I said in my last post. I beleive it's rated at 280cfm. I added filters to my darkroom vent intakes and I had to crank it up a little more to compensate. I have yet to add a scrubber (next project, soon! ) so my exhaust is pretty short and un-restricted.

Ashot of one of the CBs at ~f37.
