Butte County

if you are in butte, growing smaller amounts and in good standing with your neighbors than i would try to fire another one off. my situation is different because i am not just plugging seedlings into soil and hoping they dont raid. i made significant investments in GH that are just a little too flashy for this political climate. id rather put the GHs somewhere else for now instead of taunt the county and risk dealing with compliance nightmares or worse sheriff visits.

i am not abandoning the fight here or selling off anything, i hope Butte gets their shit together and allow grows of some kind in the future, i am simple marinating and luckily have the luxury of being able to sit back and watch what happens in 2015 from a different county immune from the BS of measure A.

I hear ya Props - Right or wrong, the big GH's along the I-5/99 corridor, right now, are a beacon for trouble. While there are a few strategies to fight the counties when it comes to necessary permits and or ordinance requirements, in the end, our particular crop is the fuel, feeding the county fires.

It really isnt about the GH's and whether they come up to building codes because for the most part, there is not much in the structures that adhere to typical building code guidelines. Yes, if anything, the grading part should be of concern, I'll give the county that much. Being flooded out by your neighbors ignorance to properly manage run-off from a stupidly installed GH pad or any outbuilding for that matter, can be aggravating.

It isnt about the GH, its about what they think were going to grow inside. At that point, the county doubles down - 1) Prevent growing and 2) Generate violation revenue in the process. A county engineered "green" speed trap all under the guise of prop A.

Sometimes, in this game - " the man who up and walks away, lives to grow another day..." Or something like that...cc

I noticed them first taking interest around a month earlier. Both empty. It's made me decide not to even hoop my legit 10x10. Is it 2015 or 1995? Maybe my brain is fucked because this shit must be a very elaborate joke.

Yea Lake County has been fucked since early 2014. Talk to the people at the farmers market to get a good impression of the area, they will fill you in

yea lake county is another battleground one that seemed to have hope, but its still pretty strict. theres also a smaller amount of farms over there so easier for the cops to get everyone. luckily butte county is enormous but it still seems they are hitting every crevice from the flats of palermo and thermalito all the way out to the remote sticks of berry creek and forbestown. i dont know a single area in Butte that hasn't seen some visits.

yuba county is also apparently pretty strict, lots of grow properties popping up. their main compliance issue is the permitted building thing. but i visited a few properties that claimed there was multiple compliance visits with tickets from grading to electrical handed out.

these cannabis ordinances are inviting them to cite people for every code under the book. this is total police state bullshit, i feel like i had less to worry about living in the liberal nanny state bay area instead of supposed jefferson state freedom minded sierras…US troops allowed farmers in afghanistan to harvest their marijuana and opium crops, but here at home we are getting patrolled and cited like they are some invading force.

I left butte 4 years ago.. During the first wave of the cops changing the guidelines.. Couldnt be happier that I moved to sonoma county :)

It's happening all over california and it's obviously on purpose with a point. What is the point??? They are gonna squeeze everyone out and take over with corp weed. The same prohibitionists who have been locking people up are gonna be the multi million dollar companies who will take it over and use ther structure of slave labor and eliminate all of our American made jobs. It's the reason I've always been against legalization. It's not a "greedy grower" bullshit thing these tools throw around. Wake up people and let's protect this homegrown industry.

But how do we go about protecting our freedoms here.. What recourse do we have with these bullshit ordinances and compliance checks-

I mean obviously we need to stick together here and fight 'em but when are we filing our class action lawsuit and has anybody called Tony Serra yet?

Should I call him and start a thread to raise funds so we can try and do work on the BOS mafs- I'm not just talking Butte Country or Yuba County I'm talking about Cali as a whole.

I know I'll have to ask the mods if I can make that thread but it's just a thought-
