Lockout happens at low pH. Plants don't take up carbon through the root system of course, thats through the stomata in the leaves they get CO2. The carbon in the root system is only for consumption by microbes which work to mineralize the nitrogen into plant available forms.

I would check out Purdue Agronomy for more information. The carbon is more important when considering soil amendments and how they will break down not soil as a whole.

Your plants all have a distinctive Afghani look , so that's what they are , Pipeline chunky hybrid. I'm not sure if by you but if I use bone meal or fish fertilizers something always digs everything up , I'm thinking coons but I'm not sure
Actually thats a good tip I kind of wasn't thinking about. I have always stayed away from blood and bone meal for that reason. I think my espoma mix had some bone meal in it. If you work it into the soil it could still be a problem I assume. The Chicken manure has 4 percent available phosphate so I should be good. Trying the new rate its like 4 or 5 lbs for the area. If I stick to that I will probably be alright in terms of burn and Phosphorous will be taken care of.

I still want to do the compost mulch, that helps reduce run-off when you water. And that way every time you water its giving it compost tea! :smoke:

I guess the point is you can't do much about the soil, it is what it is. Organic matter is the source of carbon in the soil. Use some molases, I think that is a high carbon soil additive.

Howdy all. Just to change things up a little, wet yet again here. Haven't checked on the plants for some time. I'm not expecting much though as growth for most things here have been really slow. Remember we are just sharing information that works with us as individuals some will have a method that works for them and gives them the results they are after. Others do it their way and are also happy with the results. Merry Christmas fullas.

Thanks, Merry Christmas! Gods answer for a stubborn and rebellious people. We love the Lord for his goodness toward us! About to read and meditate on the book of Jeremiah this morning.

Finally got some rain this week here too, about an inch I think. Next week it goes down to 0 F with some wind and a possible winter storm mid to late part of the week!

Where are you budsnblunts? Still have plants outside? Its so dark and cloudy ,even if it was warm, theres not much going on. Roses just dropped their leaves, uh oh! :smoke:

Down to 9 Deep Chunk packs left at Humboldt CSI get them while they last!

Jeremiah 19 NKJV

The Sign of the Broken Flask

1 Thus says the Lord: “Go and get a potter’s earthen flask, and take some of the elders of the people and some of the elders of the priests. 2 And go out to the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the Potsherd Gate; and proclaim there the words that I will tell you, 3 and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring such a catastrophe on this place, that whoever hears of it, his ears will tingle.

4 “Because they have forsaken Me and made this an alien place, because they have burned incense in it to other gods whom neither they, their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, and have filled this place with the blood of the innocents 5 (they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command or speak, nor did it come into My mind), 6 therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that this place shall no more be called Tophet or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter. 7 And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place, and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies and by the hands of those who seek their lives; their corpses I will give as meat for the birds of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth. 8 I will make this city desolate and a hissing; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its plagues. 9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his friend in the siege and in the desperation with which their enemies and those who seek their lives shall drive them to despair.” ’

10 “Then you shall break the flask in the sight of the men who go with you, 11 and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Even so I will break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, which cannot be [a]made whole again; and they shall bury them in Tophet till there is no place to bury. 12 Thus I will do to this place,” says the Lord, “and to its inhabitants, and make this city like Tophet. 13 And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be defiled like the place of Tophet, because of all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, and poured out drink offerings to other gods.” ’ ”

14 Then Jeremiah came from Tophet, where the Lord had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the Lord’s house and said to all the people, 15 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will bring on this city and on all her towns all the doom that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their necks that they might not hear My words.’ ”

Hey man, I'm not religious at all, have a few satanic tattoos from when I was younger in my own form of rebellion hahaha... now I give thanks to a creator, who ever that might be. I'm from Aotearoa, summer has only really began here so I have another three to four months until harvest. The biggest test in life is to accept other's point of views without them impacting on us too much. Keep safe chaps.

thank you, i love my garden and plants. yes there was early morning frost that added to the look on the trichomes. it only dipped into the low 30's(f)/2C and i already know my Wedding Cakes can't handle the frosts from this last March when i tested another batch of strains. I will not learn to be nice, you will not see me become an obedient, submissive, nice person....you see this avatar? anyway....God is good, keep the bible thumping to a minimum and we are good. most know me as a spiritual person, bring up religion or politics and i block people

I'm glad you guys are spiritual because its the only way to know the truth. You want your eyes to be open so that you are able to walk with God in the life He has called you. Everyone is unique and that's the thing I love about God's creation.
