Hi mudballs how is the purple plant doing after the frost?
They were near 60d in flower so i harvested them

What a frost does to late flower plants is shorten your harvest window mostly. They will rot out fast after heavy frosts so i had to start taking them.

Mudballs-- Happy Harvest! Thats a good science experiment testing for cold hardiness! I love that. Thanks for sharing. So the FL strawberries and African lines didn't have the cold hardiness like the grape kush and other lines did. Did you say the cake hybrid didn;t do real well? How cold did the temps get on that test? Grape kush sounds really good, where did you get that line?

Chilliwilli--Cool little indica, it did great in low light. They don't need much. When did it come up?

Extra bonus from just tossing out seed. Glad it was a female.

Nice start to the season there! Are some of those flowering? Love the sights and sounds of spring.

Yeah that sounds right! Going to be icing over this week, plus we're celebrating Christmas, so I'll probably be testing the bubble. Its good stuff when mixed into the pipe! Makes it go a lot further and helps keep down tolerance I think since its a mixture of plants' resins. :smoke:
with the bubble hash you won't be disappointed 😉 you're right in a pipe it's better, personally I smoke it in a joint, it's a smoother rise but an effect that I find longer 😉 personally I don't smoke it too much even if I prefer hash, because hash increases my tolerance 😂

Yeah it made that pipe extra potent, I know not to put in big pieces of hash. A little goes a long way.

Hey everyone l hope you’re all well. Here’s two phenos of the Forbidden Fruit x Lambrusco. These are testers from Bradley Danks. One is a more upright indica looking plant (the second photo) and other has a stretchy, longer lateral sativa look. They’re 1.3 meters tall now.
Four of these went into flower, shortly after popping, on the 17th September. I’ve never had any other plants do this before .so there’s some really early phenos in this line which matches with Bradley’s breeding goals for Northern growers.
Cheers,
40.

Nice start! Moving along quite well! Those are big! What month does flowering usually start for you guys? Here its around late July.

Those look like some great indica plants! Sounds like a great hybrid. Any more info on the origins of the line? Thanks for sharing, thats a sight for sore eyes when its the 2nd day of Winter here!

Just picked up Sterling skunk IBL and Pine Tar Kush IBL from Humboldt CSI for hybridizing with DC pollen next year. Going to get all the crosses done with the original DC pollen. Merry Christmas! :smoke:

Thanks Pipeline,
I’ve asked Bradley to pop over and give a bit of a run down on the genetic makeup of the ff x l.
Overall I’m very impressed with these plants, they’ve handled the cold start to summer well. We’ve only had a few nights, literally, over 10 degrees C in the last three months and that’s due to another La Niña.
Here, a plant that’s around 1.5 meters tall at Christmas is going to be a very big plant and depending on the genetics the initial flowering time can vary from the middle of February to the middle of March. Of course I’ve grown Ace’s Golden Tiger, just to see if l could, that started much later and some Thai phenos didn’t start flowering until well into winter.
Knowing that the ff x l were ready at Bradley’s location in Northern Oregon, 45 degrees north, by the 28th of September, I’m expecting them to be showing flower by mid February and finishing stretch by the end of February.
The big sativa leaner has just grown two inches tall in 24 hours but has let go of one of the bottom laterals. I usually rub these off early so as not to stress the plant later in the season but to test them properly I’ve left them on to see if this would happen.
Here’s one of Mr n Mrs Schrews Purple Sprites it hasn’t enjoyed the cold start to the growing season and is .9m tall.
Cheers,

Purple sprite looks like a really stout indica. I remember Schrews really liked it. Thanks for sharing, we are getting an arctic jet stream of -40 wind chills today.

so here at 40 degrees north at 10 degrees Fahrenheit it's refreshing to see your grow. I'm just wondering about your fencing with such large mesh, what find of critter is it for , or is it just for support

Hey everyone.
I know exactly how you northern growers feel Old Piney. It’s amazing just how happy it makes me feel when I see a beautiful plant bathed in full summer sun, it really does make my day just that little bit brighter on a gloomy winters day.
The cages are for support and the mesh is 100x100mm or 5 inches by 5 inches. It’s six feet tall weld mesh and with a
six foot post weaved into the mesh and then pushed into the ground, it’s a great initial support for big plants or a long term support for a smaller one. I find tying the laterals to the wire works really well for plants that need a little extra support. They will prevent small herbivores from entering but it’s more of an uncertain thing on the animal’s part and driven by hunger they will eat your plants. My first line of defence is an electrified, six foot, chicken wire fence and that has worked well for me here.
The purple sprites have the potential to grow into a very large plant Pipeline, as I’m sure you know. I wouldn’t let the shorter stature, at this stage of it’s development, lull you into believing it still won’t end up 12-15 feet tall.
I really like the structure of this one because it has very nice lateral branching, that the photo doesn’t really show but as l mentioned earlier, I’ve found these particular plants extremely difficult to sex.
I’m sure you northerners know how to have fun and stay safe even with the Arctic blast coming at you, nature In it’s extremes is beautiful.
Hope everyone’s having a nice, casual few days and enjoying some time off if you’ve got a holiday.
Cheers,
40.
