They are 1" from the lights on the right and almost 2" on the left because the bulbs are a little hotter by the sockets. I also have 4" to drop the res, hope I timed the stretch right.

OK gotcha I was unaware of your ability to drop the res although I should have figured as much from the likes of Super AreoHead!
How much of a stretch are you still seeing?

Thanks for stopping by again ziodb3rg, always good to hear from you. Yes, the buds will hopefully end very close to the lights, I also still have 4 inches of space left because the sump is raised right now.

well thats a good thing that u can still srop the rez more.
now lets hope that there is enough space for the buds to streach.

wow! I followed this from the 9 plants in the beginning to the 2 plants of today. I have to say I'm pretty confident you'll keep the stretch under control (after my amazement w/ that 1st harvest.)

Do you have a contingency if they outgrow the space? I know you have that 4" - just wondering if you're backed up...

Yes that is the challenge, I hope I can drop the res 4" and have them 1" under the lights after stretch... we'll see

Not really, part of it will be how slowly I drop the res, I can always LST above the screen, worked well for D.I.Try and his awesome PC grow.

I don't know what is going to happen, these HB's are not going into flower as fast as the last strain, I got pistols after 5 days of 12/12 but they are stretching like mad and not forming actual buds yet. I have a feeling 4" will be enough in the end though.

Today I lowered the screen 1/2 inch. I also took some fog pics with a little root porn. OMG they are huge, these pics are missing almost half the roots, I need to change the res soon and when I do, I'll have someone hold the screen for a full root pic, they are insane!!

I probably will need a little LST for some of those buds, I still have 3.5" to drop the res and I'm trying to test the penetration of the PL-L's and shoot for 9" colas, last time they were 6". I can also pull some of those further under the screen with zip ties if needed. It's an experiment, trying to push my luck I suppose.

They vegged for about 4 weeks, they are 5 weeks old..

very nice. It seems logical that those montrous roots will translate into bigger biomass up top. huge buds surely. are you still overdriving your bulbs areo?

Yes, I am overdriving the center lamp only @ 96 watts, the other two bulbs are still @ 55 watts. I have thought about overdriving them all but that would give me nearly 300 watts...lol I think the center light only is a great idea and a good test to see if I can get larger colas.
D.I.Try, saw your new pics, wow, looks awesome, can't believe you get that much bud in that small PC case... Mad props to you bro!!

Stunning! Couldn't picture a more healthy looking setup and plants. Are you on flower nutes yet? I will switch to flo straight away (start of 12/12) if I don't want stretch. I believe the flo will kick it into flower quicker too.

heh thanks aero, well its the plant that does all the work not me.

300 watts - lol that would probably turn them white? ive seen light bleaching before but i wouldnt even know if it takes other criteria as well as extreme light to happen. If there are plants that can cope with that intensity in my mind it would have roots that look like that - hah. Cooling them is another matter!

There's no indication that its unsafe i hope it stays that way. maybe if you are planning on being away for a time , turn it down lol? just to give a good long test over a whole grow and check the bulb all over for any warning signals. Cant be too careful with fire, but maybe im just paranoid. sorry to put a dampener on things
