Ok...just done the Somango....even crazier!! The pH is a whooping 8.4!!! So, the reason the somango must be doing better to me must be:
1. Better seedling compost unmixed...but it's hitting the alkaline stuff now which is why it is starting to show probs
2. The plant is bigger, so now it is hitting the stuff it can cope a little better
3. The Somango is a little more resilient anyway than the others
So they all got a good rinse through with 6-6.4pH oxygenated water, the last lot a TINY touch of epsom salts and dol lime to see if they will take a little calmag in while the ph and oxygen in water allow it. i will do the flash
in acouple of days as I have run out of water...and energy!! I am not geared up to flush every plant in one go
i can't do anything with regards to planting more at least until the weekend...i shall probably be quite ruthless, I am still only 20 days in. though if I might suspect decenT survival (read above 10g) I might keep them. The somango should qualify, we shall see the others in a few days....
the other thing is...the soil should come down...i suspect the dol lime is what has caused the spike (they did start ranging 6-6.5 according to soil meter, which i sort of take as a good indication if not too precise atm), but the coffee and pellets should start releasing extremely soon and counter that....we shall see!!
a part of me is also tempted to nurse them all...not only because I am being an overprotective "parent"! It could be a quick lesson in soil management indoors and fixing things, after all, never had to before and would rather learn how plants react rather than concentrate just on the yield? But the Somango has to give me something to hang on for this to happen!! Oh...the Flash is also prob a photo as this seems to be prevalent from the more reviews I have read...so I could def nurse her better while. I grow a few more autos to almost completion...if I can nurse her well enough till weekend I will traNsplant into a different soil...
Anyhows...done what I can for the moment, time to see what happens over the next 6 days
chers guys, have a good beginning to the week
