300w LED organic noob journal

I so want to do a SCROG soon...I just like the look of the plants so much!! :)

Today I am going back to see my babies!!:woohoo:

Hope they have popped up to greet me!! Also going to get my new light (hoping the neighbours are at home!)...final piece to the jigsaw! :)

Im sure they have popped up :) Scrogs are awesome. Great way to make use of the space. Dont know why people disagree with them lol.

But let us know with some pics later :)

They all have sort of waited...three have got their stems bending through, the somango is still a little mound under the earth...i hope she was just being polite and shows herself like the others! :)

I have also got the light in there...atm it's at 55cm for seedlings....i have it on full blast just to c what temps do in 1 hr, but will put into veg only when off to bed :)

Also, somehow manages to keep the other leds in there too!! I shall have photos prob tomorrow...uploading them is a little mission :)

They'll be here :) but, 21" is quite high....you shouldn't have heat problem like a mh or hps. I'd put at least 16-18 if your not comfortable with the 14".

With the new LED, the temps go up by 8-9 degC, to a max of 27.2 so far...we will see in a few days in a row. Humidity doing good as well, 77%min. Soil seems slightly on the acidic side for veg at 6.1...but in a couple of weeks the dolomite lime should kick in, so I am hoping for improvement. Water tester arrives this week, so should be able to get some control.

Here are teh photos!!!

DAY 1

Looks good!! Couple things. 80.6 little warm don't ya think? I'd try dropping that down a couple degrees! At least below 80.

And the RH, hopefully that goes down lol. 77% is hi! I know in veg they like moisture but when they switch to flower that could be a problem.

That is what i thought on the temps..os far it appears it is just the peak at the end of the day....mostly overs around 25-26, which should be perfect. Want to get a thermostat for the fan...atm not running, but if i notice high temps will drop.

Humidity is high atm...i think it's because i really saturated the vases to begin with, i am hoping it drops a little. Where it is, i can always unzip curtain, seems to drop 30-40%. Again, when i run fan i am sure it will drop. Otherwise a small cheap dehumidifier it will be!! :)

I am honoured to have inspired you - just please do not put my growth to shame! :p ;)
Just been to check - it's so hard to just sit and wait for them to grow, but for all the wishing and willing, I know it will be better to be just about checked on - they will let me know when they need me, that is for sure! :)
Anyways, all going well, except the Krippleberry has still not reared its head....here is the pic!

Patience is key! Trust me goin from hydro to soil I've learned that lol

I'm sure they will sprout up before ya know it! Still very curious how they will yield vs the 3 gallon pots. Be interesting :)

Mmm...
I have bad news....the Krippleberry didn't make it - I was really looking forward to it, shame :(
So, all hail the replacement - auto flash!! :) hopefully it will come up before sunday, don't want too much of an age gap to her sisters!! :)
All else seems good - did some fan testing, when it runs temps top out at 24.3degC and rh@81%. I am starting to see this drop even with fan off, as the pots dry up.

A little help please! :)

A little help please! :)

I dunno, maybe it's just that they are still a little too moist and that is all...but they seem to have light green veins? The flash + LED Exagerratees the effect a little....is it just becuase they are still young?

I noticed the leaves on the High Density are slightly droopy...could it be just too moist in there?

High Density

Pink Grapefruit

The Pink grapefruit does not seem to be suffering...fingers crossed!!!

Also, the Somango seems to have no other leaves other that the round ones (sorry, the coty...something!!) :)

I am munching through the fingernails.....

How much did you water them??? If there droopy and your RH is that high that could be why. Sometimes less is more. Have you watered them a lot?

I have not watered them since planting, but...i did plant them only 24 hrs after SATURATING the soil..I have seen other people grow this way...but the wait 3-4 days...maybe it was a little early and should've waited a little longer...we live and learn!

Shame, krippleberry was high up the list! But the Flash will bring back memories!! And is such a nice smoke. The seed looked a bit pale ...we shall see,! :)

Thanks for all your help man, it is extemely appreciated!! :comfort:

No doubt in my mind they will pull through! And no problem that's what we're here for lol.

But I will say again. Watch that RH. Come flowering that could cause done serious mold problems.

Thanks for the necouragement! You are great...there is advice, then there is kind advise with a smile! ;)

I must say, they look a bit perkier already, I am sure the moisture is my main issue at themoment...hopefully things will improve still! Oh, the Somango incidentally just looks lush green! Even if a day behind her sisters. Anyways, looks like they are growing, so that is main priority!

Incidentally - what air temp would you suggest for a max? Whenever I look, it seems to be around 26, but the meter has captured a 28degC (82F). Could that be an issue, the RH is averaging 70% atm - I still want to order a very small dehumidifier for as soon as the 3rd node appears - I believe humidity is a little less constraining then, but of course I should still aim for 60% I believe? So complicated, outside this was never an issue - I am loving it!!! :D :D

Ok, I halved the length of extraction ducting, it seems to have done the trick on the humidity - maybe too much?? During running hours it has dropped to 50%. Is that too low for 5-6 day old seedlings??

Also, I was wondering if the discolouring of the leaves was due to LED distance or just overwatering? They are at 55cm - just over 21", which from what I can make out from other posts should be fine for LEDs?

Either way, the Pink Grapefruit in particular seems to be pushing on quite nicely! They are all forming the next set of leaves, hopefully they will be fully established before I leave Tuesday?! Photos tonight :)

Sounds like your getting it dialed in. The RH is not to low, I keep mine at 40-50 for veg stage and like to keep around 30-40 for flower. That's just me though to each there own lol.

82 degrees is a little warm but it can certainly grow. I find anything above 80 effects the final product your losing oxygen intake the hotter it gets. I'd try to keep it under 80.

What kind of discoloration? With the lights on they will look weird if you've never seen them under led lol. But with my autos they started turning yellow ( the bottom starting leaves ) pretty quick. 21" won't make them be discolored considering I ran mine at 14 lol

Thanks - never even thought about colour spectrum from LED...it doesn't look so bad in normal light :) just checked, it's weird, sort of yellow, but otherwise leaf feel really healthy? Weird...time will tell! :) the pots are always drying and leaves look a bit perkier by the day :)

Will have photos later :)

Ok....here we go, only flash of camera:

As you can see, not looking sooper great for colour, though the Pink Grapefruit looks otherwise totally healthy. The new growth has no signs of yellow, so I am sure she will turn out great

The High Density is the one that looks the poorest - I still have hopes he will recover, she appears to still be growing, so hopefully it's just that the roots at the bottom are still a little wet while they develop Maybe a little nutrient burn too?

The Flash came through today as well and is looking really good! The seed was quite white, so I was surpired to see it at all, let alone that it would be the fastest of the lot! :D

Anyways, Humidity is lower, I have switched one of the smaller lights off and I am getting max 25.5 deg, so they should be a little happier. Rh now also stable between 48-77%. Fingers crossed they will keep going while I dial everything in, but I think I should be OK :)
