Just an FYI:
"Off-season" ends April 1st,as the (you guessed it!) tulips come up.
If you go to Holland between November 1st and march 30th it's approximately 35% less, and that includes hotels,as well.
Hence, the HT Can Cup is a bit cheaper to attend, say, because it's in late November- and it's cold as f*ck....
Mid>late April is nice in A'Damm, some days you could get by with shorts from 11 am- 2 pm....but mostly it's jeans & mid-weight outerwear.
If you want the Best Possible Deal, you need to book as early in advance as possible....and imHo a travel agent is your best bet-MOST of the affordable A'Damm hotels are NOT online....they have 6-20 rooms and are family-run,etc....
If you book four-star+ hotels, online is definately worth investigating, last time I stayed in a +$400/night room in one of the finer hotels for well under $200 per night, booking online.
The travel agent couldn't touch it in this instance.
And because someone will inevitably ask,the answer is,
"I don't know if I'm going,yet."
I have such an busy situation going on that I'll have to wait and see how it
all sorts out.
hostels?
eeeep.
A great place to catch the latest euro-flu, but that aside, definately a bargain,if you don't mind children from age 8 running rampant everywhere, screaming,no privacy,no ability to smoke dope indoors, and a staff that usually averages 19 years old.
If you MUST,the Hans Brinker Hostel is right down the street from Global Chillage,a ten minute walk to Seeds Direct, one minute to The Dolphins Coffeeshop, and five minutes to De Dampkring....and it's cheap, with a bar inside.(Be prepared for some tiny, short-poured Heineken, lol!)
i stayed at the fllying pig when i was there last, no little kids runnin round, good prices on beer, and we spent much time burning vast amounts of herb there.
it was around 24 euros a nite i think, but it was a 6 person room and we filled it. far as flying goes, im stuck on the eastcoast which can be nice when flying to 'dam, washington is close enuff that a flight from my local to there is less then 100$, usualy alot less. try to fly during a weekday, redeyes usualy have plenty of space, iceland air always has somthing goin on so sign up for their lucky fairs to see whats up, i would suggest browsing prices now and buying in a few months, somewhere after the holidays for this year end. and use the flexable schedual option at travel.yahoo.com you can set how many months out you wanna search, you might not find anything right now thats cheap but when the holidays are over i am sure you can find a good deal, i saw $310 for march, nothing special for april yet tho.
Hey everybody.I am brand new to this forum.I will be making my second trip to Amsterdam april16-30.Is the ICMAG 420 cup open only to growers?I am in town anyway and would like to learn and burn. Also has a location been confirmed yet?I will be staying near Dam Square and was wondering if I would be close to the action. Thanks for any replies.
About accomodation.
A good friend of me now owns the T-Boat, this used to be the only floating coffeeshop, now he is making it into a three room hotel, wont be super fancy, no roomservice, no breakfast...get your own.
But it is in the city center, your own room, one even with kitchen, around the corner from the Bluebird coffeeshop and 3 minutes from the Cannabis College and the location of the 420 cup, i havent seen the location mentioned yet so i will also not yet mention it.
pm me if you are interested on more info about the boat, and i will see wat we can do.
i´ll be staying in hotel sphinx at the cannabis cup in 10 days.reasonable prices, and very flexible staff, atleast with my problems with booking(i changed it three times already)
they just laughed it away
deffenately i will be there, with my new-found family:you <3
