if you need to compare the two types,...

a 12xx screen has approx. 120 holes per inch.
a 120 mesh screen has approx 120 threads per inch.

those 2 are similar enough for what we're doing.

Awsome information man! I had no idea about Monofilamnet and Multifilament. Seems Multifilament is a better option as it measures the actual holes. HAH! I think your onto a conspiracy theory with the professional hash bags! I never heard of the XX measurements, although its much more fundamental for DIY growers! Very good info!

Hi Gang, im a new member and after seeing some of the really nice mini cabs here, Thought I ought to throw my hat into the ring. This is my MINI, it's a veg/flower combo, Remotely ballested 150W with a cool tube and a manifold for ventelation. Ventelation is via a Lasko Squirrel fan. Flowering area is powered by 3-40W Spiral CFL's. Output of the cab goes into a homebrew scrubber filled with Crystal Kitty litter. Right now i'm growing a seed crop of LUI in it, next go round will be a SCROG of LUI clones..

cola chopping ...

first a bit of background :
my first grow was nigerian nightmare by reeferman seeds. that plant got pollinated but still produced a very healthy amount of potent ganja PLUS many viable seeds. unfortunately, the herb gave more of a body stone, rather than the head stone which i prefer.

this grow is from those seeds and , judging from both my previous grow AND the current look of the trichomes, i would say that i am about 2 weeks from harvest .

here is the problem ... the colas (i am growing 2 plants) are not nearly as meaty as i think they should be, although the trichomes are telling me that harvest is near. also, i have literally DOZENS of bud sites which are still quite small . i am thinking of harvesting the top 12" of the plants (this would consist mainly of the colas), thus allowing me to give all those bud sites some more serious light AND i am thinking that the earlier harvest will give me more of the "head stone" effect that i am looking for .

i have heard of people doing partial harvests with no trouble so i am wondering if you think this will be o.k. and if there are any precautionary steps i should take before/after the cola chop.

Wasapinin man! precautionary steps? The only one I can think of is remember that a plants root mass shouldnt be significantly larger than its foliage. This could off set a ballance where the roots dont have enough foliage to support, causing the plant to slowly die. I doubt the lower buds are going to rott off post upper harvest, and youll have your eye on them aswell so its nothing to worry about. Just good information for your hobby.

Oh yeah,
my friend is going to hook me up with a FOURTH grow box for my stealth bedroom operation! I think it will be a drying & 18/6 veg box and maybe a 70-100hps for kicks but I dont know... Either way the cabinet is solid, thick wood. It was government made for american institutionalized learning facilities so the quaility is something you cant just buy. I will hate cutting holes in it for that reason!

The cool thing is my bedroom is my secret laboratory that must seem a high quality, top of the line bedroom with fancy furniture and expensive tastes (although im poor!).
My goal is to create a fucntionable bedroom set that looks like it was purchaced from Scadinavia designs or Inspiration Furniture. When people walk in, they will think "oh wow you have very exspensive furniture and such a clean white carpet". Little will they know that my furniture makes me 3-4 ounces of ganja per month! Muwaahaha!

your stealth plan is similar to mine ... i am thinking of going with one of those old cabinet-style stereo systems that sit on the floor. they are often made of pretty nice wood and with a modern tv sitting on top i think that it would likely escape any casual scrutiny. something i am thinking about anyways.

Yeah, It's a U2. I used the floor as the top and made a new floor for it. Since construction, I have cut the floor out of the flower chamber, so the RES actually sits on the floor now, I drilled a set of 1" holes along the front and back of the res. The flower chamber is 11X18, Veg room is around 9X11. Manifold is 9X9X11. It houses the Fan (Lasko) and the electrics for the ballast and all the lights..

A few of my thoughts for the holiday season.......


My first joint was in High School, when I was just a kid.

Then in three days at Woodstock, I finished half a lid.

Then non-stop in Viet Nam, while wearing Air Force Blue.

And then in Greenwich Village, and San Diego Zoo.

But then when I got married, I slowed down quite a bit.

I enjoyed dry martinis, but seldom took a hit.

My kids were young, life was good, I had to keep it cool.

I played the DARE hypocrite, “No drugs near my kids’ school”

They grew up, my health turned bad, I needed safe relief.

I turned back to an “old friend”, and no one gave me grief.

Yes, I’ve toked in Las Vegas, and Miami F-L-A.

In Denver’s highest mountains, and Jersey’s Barnegat Bay.

Last count was twenty-nine states, in which I dropped an ash.

In each one I made a friend, with whom I shared my stash.

Seventeen different countries, from Mexico to Spain.

With my sweetheart by my side, and pot to ease my pain.

Jamaica was fantastic, smokers abound in droves.

But the prettiest of all, Nova Scotia’s Peggy’s Cove.

I’ll travel and enjoy my weed, as long as God permits.

And maybe we’ll meet on the road, and trade a heavenly hit.

Now the seasons have arrived that speak of holiday cheer.

Kwanza, Channukah, or Christmas, whatever you hold dear.

I’d gladly share my stash with you, if distance would allow.

But cyber-tokes & wishes are what I can offer now.

I pray you are as blessed as I, with friends and family.

Like, those that support me, here on the big IC.

I pray you have a chance to see the places I have been.

But know the greatest beauty, is always found within.
