Heyoo,

I've got my 150 on order from econco and just thought I might share some set up picks. Im growing up in a Closet in a spare bedroom veging under a bunch of floros that I had priviously used to grow to compleation. Day 3 so far, going to do a LST and keep them nice and short so I can maxamize the light. Cheers!

CTS~

Cardboard - lol, I like the mess of adapters/splitters. I didn't look at the enlarged pic, I thought you just had foil on top of the CFLs, but that does look like plastic bottles. That seems like it could lead to trouble. Anybody have any suggestions on how to add some reflectors to this thing? I need to leave the top somewhat open for ventilation, that's the problem. If I didn't need to I'd just put a piece of white plywood on top or something.

That's pure genius, why didn't I think of that. I've got about two dozen empties sitting in a bag right next to me too. Thanks for the idea!

Edit: Hey suga, glad you got around to posting those two FAQ/Guide things!

Edit: Hm, would it be bad for the can to touch the actual tube on the bulb? I'd rather it didn't but I'm not sure how I can tape it to the ballast w/o it touching. Oh well, I'll work on it for a little while longer. Gotta go to work soon :badday:

I don't have any mylar, but I'll tell you what, I rigged up a nice little chopped up aluminum can reflector. It's only half done, I just got back from work. I was only able to finish one side, I'll do the other side tomorrow. Once again, my giant roll of foil tape saved the day! I'll put some pics up tomorrow.

 Hello everybody...Thank you all for the compliments!!!!!!

Nice job HOTC!!

bounty 29-That plant was a seedling about 75 or so days ago.when they get about 6-8 inches tall I bent them over so the top was touchin the soil.I used wire coat hanger pieces, cut 8-10 inches long, bend them into a U shape, and stick it in the soil over the stem of the plant.Pretty simple! As the branches grew up I bent those down the same way as well and what you see is the result.Oh yeah.....I also tried fimming but it didn't work.

Y'all have a good one! :joint:

coffin~ I like your coat hanger method...since I use string and tape to tie them down. Your method is overall cheaper and would help me keep control of plants. 1 question though... have you encountered any coat hangers coming loose due to growth?

Good mornin everybody

trikromeking-Hey man, hows it goin? I like the coat hanger way as well.IMO it's much easier than tying down plants, puttin tape or rubber bands around the pot etc.
I think it is easier on the plants as well because there is nothing tied around the stem. You don't have to worry about adjusting the string as the plant grows.

As far as the hangers coming loose as the plant grows,it happens, especially when the soil is drying out.I just cut a longer piece of hanger or reposition the old one

Pipedream-thanks for puttin up the link for sugas DIY conversion  I know I used it and everyone who uses or is thinkin of using this type of light will use it.Thanks suga!! :respect:

Y'all have a good one! :joint:

hey y'all I wish I could take credit for the DIY, but it is just a repost of the original FAQ on OG (RIP). I followed that one too!
