Sweet looks like my last keeper of Zam... kinda more GT dominant with orange skittles smell and flavour. Head ripping stone on it too... way more wall staring than the caffeinated roller coaster Zamal or Thai phenotypes but definitely still trippy in a more mellow kind of way (sort of more mellow... less crazy wavy rolling wild feelings anyway..)

Sounds good. I’m hoping the orange smell translates to taste as well. I was interested in golden tiger first anyway but they were sold out. All three parents were of interest to me. Growing a Malawi fem beside it and other than the basic structure of the stems they look and smell nothing alike.

Was that zam one of the ones you just lost?

Love Zamaldelica as well, you describe the effects perfectly loose you mind loony tunes on steroids ha ha.
I always feel like Johnny Rotten from the sex pistols, good for parties where you dont know anyone ha ha.

I love the way people describe this strain.
Has me worked up to smoke some
11 weeks this Monday and not slowing growth yet so I’ll just have to be patient I guess

Dubi has descriptions like these to thank for the fact that I'm eagerly anticipating a cabinetful of Ace genetics right now.

I'm going to be sorely disappointed if the high I get from these strains, and from cobbing them, doesn't deliver the goods!

Actually, I'm a bit worried that it won't be much better for me. I fear that my endo-cannabinoid system is just less sensitive than most, so all I will ever feel is the same, pleasant and relaxing but rather dull high I get from most strains. I sure hope not!

I fear that part of the high other people experience might result from a form of cooperation between their endo-cannabinoid system and their sense of smell, which seems likely to play a role in processing the terpenes we enjoy.

I've had abnormally dull senses of both smell and taste all my life. If those senses come into play in delivering the part of the high that the terpenes provide, I suppose it's logical that I may be missing out on an important element of the high that the same bud would give to one of you: I don't feel the variations that arise from the terpenes.

That might explain why I have never once felt anything like the high that dispensaries describe in their sales materials.

Man, I hope Zamaldelica and Malawi prove my suspicion wrong, and affect me the way you guys describe!

Grow them well and post pics along the way so you harvest at the right time.
Early harvest and bad growing is the cause of most bad results nothing else IMO.
Start a diary and the expert growers here will keep you on track.

Hi guys. I wanna post some pictures of my Zamaldelica #2 Thai/zamal pheno. Was in 35 liters fabric pot .
I am a lazy person and if i don't start something ....
Average yielder.
I could chopped as i planed 1 week- 10 days earlier but heavy rains were the couse of the delay.
A sample taken early November was more sharp and clear.
Now the effect became potent in a more dreamy way. Still super nice.

11 weeks in my flower tent so far. Wish I could get nicer pics but they are too hard to move outside the tent without damaging them.

Hi Tangewa,

How early is too early in your opinion? What percentage of amber trichome heads do you target?Do you find optimum ripeness to be strain dependent?

If I recall correctly you have a different standard of ripeness depending on whether the buds are going to be cob cured or not.

Cheers,
BC

Just about 13 weeks for my zamaldelica and most pistils have died off except a few at the top that are mixed with bananas. Don’t want to risk my other girls by leaving it another week. Forgot to mention before when this one was in early flower it put out a couple male parts by the first preflowers at the bottom of the plant. Took them off and it’s been pretty good till the last few days.
Still smells like orange. Lots of other notes in the background that I can’t figure out.
Hard to make out all 16 colas

Hi my friend I just go by the pistils and calyx development.
If the plant has just about stopped showing new pistils and the pistils are 90% red the calyx are swollen she is ready.
I never look at the resin.
Like the beauty posted by Mountain Kush thats perfect IMO.

Thanks guys, I loved the way this thing grew. Found this pic from week 11 and thought it was worth sharing. They almost look like little braids.

What an amazing strain!

Thanks to Tangwena's Malawi COB thread I made my mind to grow this jewelry in the sativa crown - Zamaldelica!
I can say this strain was really challenging as I had to do my best when tying down branches after topping the plant - I got about 60 cm in height available hehe

I'm growing the feminized version and would like to share my impressions so far - the plant is exactly at F110 and I'm about to chop it in the next days. At 100F about 1/5 of the plant was chopped because these colas were looking ripe and finished. Also, I cut a test nug at about 70F.

In the beginning, when switched to flower the aroma was carrot + mango which evolved into pure fresh carrot juice smell - I couldn't resist and cut a nug for a test at about 70 days of flowering. At this point, I thought I got a malawi/zamal pheno.

Impressions from the 70F test nug, roughly dried for few days:
- The smoke was surprisingly smooth for such roughly dried bud and shortly after that... WHAT A RACE! WHAT A TRIP. I've never experienced anything like that. I thought of knowing what a trip weed means until this one... Very strong head high. Overpowering urge to stand and do something. I'm not a dancer but wanted to listen to loud music and move. Then we went to have lunch with my gf - It took me over 20 mins to choose a meal in and still had the feeling that my mind is clearer than ever - it wasn't :D The high continued for the better part of the day.

Impressions from the 100F nug, roughly dried for a little bit more than few days:
- The plant did change a lot. There is no trace of carrot smell, maybe little mango in there. I can sense black pepper and floral tones. At this point, I think I got thai/zamal pheno. Still, no amber trichomes and some colas are continuing to throw white pistils. The colas are having slight purple coloring and are dark green. The smoke is smooth but now I can say it is cannabis - previously there was almost no trace of the standard cannabis smell after burning. Again - it's way smoother than expected after such a short time of drying and no curing at all. The high - it's strong head high but not comparable to the one I experienced a month ago, way more subtle and gentle. I can feel I'm focused and can keep intact with my thoughts and goals for the day. I'm feeling energetic but the race isn't starting and I feel in a calm state. This time I can stay on the sofa - don't have the urge to stand up and jump :)

In the next days, I'll cut down the rest of the plant. Found few male flowers on top of the biggest colas and had to remove them. Still, no sign of amber trichomes but the plant is looking ready.

Also - so far I did small cob out of the 100F plant matter - after fermenting the outer husk was colored with purplish nuances and I can definitely distinguish black pepper aroma.
Can't wait to test cured zamaldelica but will have to wait for another month.

Definitely not an everyday smoke and definitely not recommended for non-experienced tokers. It's another universe of cannabis for me which I enjoy very much. The first test was probably the terrorific experience I read about in this thread. It was tough! But I think I crave for it now... Probably will do another run with zamaldelica but this time I'll cut it down early on and save it for very special occasions.

Thanks dubi, thanks Ace seeds!

Kind regards,

Yup sounds like Thai Zamal... long cure times bring the trip and electric clarity out as well as some more fruit on the back of the pepper notes. I can say if you self this and start digging through that gene pool you might find same expression with MUCH more intense effects. I found an exceptionally resinous example of this pheno as well as a very insanely intense speed trip example. Mine only flowered about 13 and 14 weeks respectively tho the 14 could have gone a bit longer...

Those were in s1 seeds that I then did a fem cross of 2 most Zamal dominant offspring. Ginger smells on stem rubs with a fuel back are a good sign.

Gasp! The tryffyd! Looks pretty Zamal dominant I think... prolly some hella good candy mango terps with a LOT of floral overtones. If it's same as the one I had anyway.... sure looks similar. Major lollipoping thru first half of flower and she gets gigantic fluffy foxtail bundles covered in psychonaut sauce. Super stemmy but daaaamn fine smoke. Easy on the ferts (u probably knew that) can maybe take em but too much causes herm...Plan for a lot of stretch... I even topped mid stretch and it seemed not to matter.

WhAt does a scratch and sniff on the stem smell like? Is she doing the semi auto flower thing?

Lol hey strongtree... which leads are dominant to leave after lollipoping? :biggrin:I never could tame that pheno without training scrog lollipoping and topping/trimming through mid/late flower... best of luck! I hope it's awesome as I remember mine being!

Good luck strongtree.
Mine was only vegged for 5 weeks and turned into a monster. I’m pulling up a chair for this one. I love how bushy and uncomfortable these can get.

@yukonkronic
I’m really getting that orange skittles scent in the jars you were talking about.
