If I flip a plant like that about 12-16 inches tall I like about 4-5 leads that I train out with stakes a bit and usually it finishes around 24-32 inches tall depending on level of jungle wild left in your pheno.
I suspect your phenotype will be more manageable than my Kraken but don't sell her short cause she's not sloppy. Peanut sounds interesting and rings a bell but I can't figure out why!

this is really good for me to know...as it is my first Zam plant... under 12 16 inch height at pre-flower will be the goal....i will give her a few days to settle into the 7 gallon transplant....and then make that cut.

Maybe this is a question for Dubi, but does anyone know if the zamaldelica elite mother is subject to the zamal semi flowering behavior?

I remember Dubi saying it was easier to manage but am wondering if the semiflowering trait and the trippy effect are genetically related. My zamaldelica F2s are elite x semi flowering and I am curious if separating the semi flowering and trippy high is an impossible task. My elite pheno matched dubis description and wasn't as wild as the males but was still difficult to work with due to the semiflowering.

I don't know for certain but I think probably not... I do know Dubi has said he considered the elite to be his ideal example of what he was after for Zamaldelica including trippy effect and I'm reasonably sure he bred the semi-auto tendency out along with hermaphroditism as much as he was able. It's my belief that the wilder phenotypes are generally a result of recessive gene combinations revealing themselves from the complexity of this poly hybrid. My variation in phenotypes is likely because of selfing and femming my few favourites until bottlenecked genes caused recessive traits to be revealed.

Thank you Ace for all the fun strains to try. And thank you Dubi for being so honest on here about where everything came from and what was involved in the breeding process.
I currently have 7 different kinds from your catalogue between veg and flower.
Here’s my Zam at about 5 weeks 12/12. Not very good at describing scents but this thing smells amazing, very fresh and bright and getting louder by the day. I’ll post more in better lighting when I get a chance to take them out of the tent.

Hey Zachrockbadenof... thanks so much. First time growing in coco and can’t believe how fast they are growing. Single cola pic was 5 weeks to the day. Whole plant pic was 5 1/2 weeks. if yours are anything like mine they will double in size from week 4 to 5. I did go to 11.5/12.5 after 3 weeks 12/12 for a pretty wild looking Tikal that refused to flower and is currently trying to take over my tent.

Hi guys, i have seen beautiful Zams in the previous posts.
I would like to share my first grow with Zamaldelicas.

I have grown 3 Zams ( one from fem pack and two from standard )
The first harvested - couse started flowering 3-4 weeks earlier) was the fem one.
I chopped her end of October. Started flower late July early August.
This summer we had no extreme temps and not much pests...

About the smoke ?
Was harvested at the end of October, was tested right after harvest - a quick dry bud , and two hits smoke for the first time ,(seemed wick to me ) and then I tested her every week. Since then, I've decided to smoke one hit till ...
Yesterday was the first time I was interested enough and I gave her another chance for a second hit from my water pipe.
The last time I tested her was 10 days ago and seemed improved.
Yesterday after the first hit seemed more improved and was time for another hit...
Then her power was revealed .Not trippy - I
understand from the first time, the first sample after harvest that has a lot of ambers....and I chopped her all in one harvest window-.
The high was more rounded but very potent.
And very long lasting. Was the first time in many years that i tried one more hit from another strain four and a half hours later, when a friend arrived, and her effect was not in their peak but i felt so full
and I did not understand anything.
And some photos. The last one was the chopped day and start of bud rot...

Genetic recombination is a bitch...

There is a possibility to have a plant exactly like the elite, but most would have some erroneous traits compared to the original. The err would be the semi-auto in your case. Clones, sadly, would be your best bet. Back crossing to your most desired subject to fix the genes in.

To pinpoint where and what is causing types of intoxication is difficult.
Normally, people chime in saying that everyone is different and the high will be much of the same, different for everyone. Completely valid thoughts, but it doesn't help this question.

To find the exact genetic scheme you're looking for, separating it out, maintaining that same genetic make up is near impossible.
There is a drift to be taken into account when you start breeding successive generations further. I can't explain it, but nature has this desire to change. Even when dealing with clones. Shit changes up on you for some godforsaken reason when you least expect it.

I find the high to be more subjective across the board. I've tried a few different expressions of zamaldelica (not crosses, rather sisters) and I find the high to vary. It depends on my exact mood or what I'm experiencing currently... for all the zamaldelica I've tried.
There is a general theme of electric or debilitating, no real in between . Again, depends on my mood or goal for the most part.

Roll with what you got.
There is a benefit to semi auto indoors if you can manage to pluck out what causes semi auto and using it to your advantage. Same with outdoors actually. If the quality is there and you like what you see/smell/touch/smoke, then go with it.

I hope this answers your question to any kind of degree.
My zamaldelica makes me talkative and have deeply sporadic thoughts, if you can't tell ;)

Hey all, fantastic thread! What a joy to catch up on. I will be running some Auto Zamaldelica this summer in my greenhouse. I will post a few pictures here midsummer.
Merry Christmas to you all.
God bless. MedDakotabis

. . . and it appears that girl really loves whatever you're feeding her!

Lovely!

Thanks Ted. Nothing too special if anyone is wondering
Hand fed daily in 3 gallon fabric pot with pure coco
Canna coco a&b as base for entire grow
Little rhizotonic for veg
Very little cannazyme and PK 13/14 in flower. Very easy to grow so far

Very nice. Especially at 7 weeks. She looks really happy and getting full already. Your'e going to love how she develops from here on out. Great work!

Thanks. The colas are getting way to heavy to hold themselves up. The buds keeps exploding out in random directions. Doesn’t show up well in photos. Way more wild looking in person. Also has a really nice orange peel sent when touched.
This is 9 1/2 weeks in flower tent.

Sweet looks like my last keeper of Zam... kinda more GT dominant with orange skittles smell and flavour. Head ripping stone on it too... way more wall staring than the caffeinated roller coaster Zamal or Thai phenotypes but definitely still trippy in a more mellow kind of way (sort of more mellow... less crazy wavy rolling wild feelings anyway..)
