Zamaldelica - The Search for Trip Weed

Willydread, looks like whorled plants are pretty common in this line, as I had one too! I wonder what parent that mutation is coming from

I had a trifoliate individual pop up in my ZamxGuatemala line a few months ago... was a very Zam dominant male.
I also had another very Zam dominant individual with a fasciated apical stem a few years ago... that’s one was hella freaky. Something like 6 branches per node... was not a desirable trait in that case... too much leaf and weak branches. I think nutritional problems can caused the fasciated ones because that ones clones were fine whereas the trifoliate male had trifoliate clone as well.

Greetings,

My favorite Zamaldelica looks a touch ambiguous, gender wise.
There is still hope, but it's a lot less likely it will go in the ground. I will monitor it and possibly breed it. A touch of hermaphroditism is not disqualifying if the high is right. My second place plant is starting to look pretty fine, and has an appearance more like Yoss33's last summer wonder plant. That one turned out with a spectacular high for him.

Here is the #1 just before it was removed from the greenhouse because of the summer heat coming on:

I still love her. She needs to throw a bunch of pistils already and declare herself! LOL

Let it get rootbound and draught conditions... it’ll try to flower right away.

Longer she doesn't show, better the chances of a babelet;) Dudes tend to be in a rush to get their balls out.

Yoss' plant was about the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Glad to hear the high equaled the beauty and bounty!

I usually stick clones right into flower to help sex seedlings, and it looks like A and B are both females (quite the surprise on A). A on the left.

thanks orfeas.... yeah i'll let it go how ever long it needs.... i'm looking for something with a heavy hit.... i'm tired of all the 1/2 breeds we have been growing... i think that once u cross a sativa with an indica u have fuk'd up the head... no matter how little indica is in it...

Try Jack Herrer for a potent blend, fast grow and lasting high.

All my plants are late to show this year. I suspect it is partly because of the genetics, but a friend growing indica leaning crosses mentioned the same thing. Even the Baglung Nepali I'm growing, supposed to ripen in mid September, didn't show a pistil till today.

Best Vibes,

I don't know man but my friend took some Jack Herrer Fem to CT and shopped it around. He said he wants to be my East Coast Distributor.

Well, all my zams have finally shown sex:
A - female, early resin formation on clone, 3 weeks into flower. Earthy carrot smell.
B - female, shorter innernodes, thinner stem, light carrot smell. First to show sex.
C - male, most vigor of the lot, branchy, first male to show.
D - male, darkest leaf, thinnest leaf, shortest innernodes.
E - male, very similar to D. Last to show sex.

Kinda upset I only got two girls to chose from, I was really hoping D was a girl, but I think he'll be my choice male for a few crosses, including to my bangi haze female keeper.

That plant is beautiful, I am growing a fem. tropical mix pack, hope somehow one of mine turns out to be a Zam, even so, if it does not it will be my next purchase.

I must say, I doubted the reports of carrot scent being a possible dominant aspect of this line, as I had never smelled anything close to carrot in cannabis before. Even at three weeks though, a light rub of the resinous stem of plant 'A' smacks you in the face with the smell of a carrot pulled right from the ground, it even has a back rich soil undertone.

So wild. Never experienced anything like it. So stoked to try it out. Only...like a year to go till some is harvested and we'll cured.

She is a lovely plant. Something special about her look, I'm sure you know what I mean. I'm glad she turned out to be a girl. I'll be looking forward to more pics of her as she grows up.
Peace, God bless

Progress! About to chop the males today. Here's a picture of 'D' (left) and 'E' (right).

And the females, freshly pollinated by the males for a mini open pollination F2s. first 'A'

And 'B'

Excuse the spidermites, who I've been battling. They've been cleared from the veg room, but the flower room is trickier, as I don't want to spray pesticides on flowers for smoking.

After a few weeks the seed plant females should be done vegging, and I'll put them to flower, pollinating with my bangi haze brothers, to begin my trip line!
