Zamaldelica - The Search for Trip Weed

This is my first post and my first grow so bear with me.
These two Zamaldelica's came out of Ace's Tropical Mix regular.
I am told #1 is the Zamal pheno. It has been flowering for 77 days. the last couple days it has produced a bunch of new white hairs. I read somewhere that you can not rely on resin gland color to tell when Zamaldelica is done. Can anyone expand on this?
#3 What pheno is this?

I like your training style, with those horizontal bamboos as Weights
Don't wait for the 20% amber trichomes or you'll wait forever, rather wait for all pistils to be brown and you'll get super fine weed but maybe would be considered weak by your usual kush smoker who wants some body load. You also can wait ten more days if you want a heavy hitter that your friends will be scared to toke on.

Why buy Zam if you don’t want to wait for the real power? Let it amber.. at least 10 percent or so. If you want faster finish then reduce lights hours last few weeks. 2 weeks at 9 or 10 hours light will encourage finishing.

My experience has been that Zam usually flowers ten to TWELVE weeks.

From flower. Not flip.
Also Zam is pretty well known for pushing pistils again (lol to me anyways!) right when you think she’s finishing. Keep waiting... if you see no new pistils or very very slow emergence after about 3-4 days then she’s probably just about good.
If you have doubts do staggered harvest and see for yourself... it wasn’t until I left a few buds on for a WEEK or more that I realized I was missing last push on some plants or just not letting it sit long enough after to ripen.

An amber trichome does not spoil the next day. It takes time for ambers to degrade so sometimes an extra day is way less a big deal than we want to think.
If your plant hits 50% or more Amber then u could look for Browns indicative of degradation as a sign to cut but before that your not likely to lose much other than Terps maybe.
In my opinion.

And cure that shit. Can’t say it enough... Zam NEEDS a long cure to be fully appreciated.
3 months. Just stash an eighth if it’s all u can wait that long for.
Trust me.

Greetings Dillycid and welcome to the forums! I'm sure you've been lurking and already know, great friendly, helpful people here and IC Mag and Ace are awesome communities to be involved in.
Your saying, first grow. You mean first Ace grow, first online grow? The reason I ask my friend is, you're plants suggest you are an accomplished, well seasoned grower. Congratulations, those are very nicely done! You obviously have a green thumb.:tiphat:

Nice choice of genetics for a 1st grow. Hope to see you do more Ace grows on here, so many strains/hybrids, not enough time, besides being the finest seeds available in my humble biased opinion.
Yukonchronic has a lot of experience, especially with Zam and always has great advise, as well as quite a few others on here.
I'm looking forward to seeing those beauties finish!
Peace, God bless

This has at least two weeks to go in my opinion.

Thanks Yukon for sharing your experience. I will take your advice to heart!
Thanks Solar! Yes this is my first grow. Sure I tried growing Thai back in the 70's you know from an occasional seed in the Sticks down in the basement under 40 watt grow lights. I'm still waiting for them to finish! (lol) So in short I am chasing that two bong load Thai high I remember and Ace seemed like the best place to start.

 Very nice first couple of posts;) Welcome aboard the Ace train;o)
Your Zams look abundant and I'm relieved to hear you'll let them go longer. There is NO reward like a well finished plant. The coolest thing about long running flowerers is that they stack trichomes from the beginning of flower until the end, and they are all at different stages of maturity by the time the first start to amber. Also, the majority of bud swell comes the last two weeks, so quite a bit to do with how much you harvest of the ZAm gold:biggrin:

I think it kinda looks like a “tropical” pheno with the narrow Thai leaves and sort of scraggly looking buds that remind me of Zamal A... hows aroma? Bit muted but kind of sweet/musky melony or carroty? Little citric spicy backend on it?
If theres candy notes or fruit juice and carrots it’s probably got Zam elite influences.

Looks like maybe 5-6 weeks left... a light top dress of high P guano (no more N for her unless it’s a tiny bit of worm casting to keep her alive if she’s dying in two weeks) might give you a little extra weight but these ones can throw nanners if they’re overfed so be cautious...

Dubi might have better advice.. I just kinda guess based on too much thread lurking and my own experience with Zam..

I'm a "newbe" at this smelling thing and my smelling thing is not to sensitive these days however I would say muted/musky with citric/spicy (pepper?) undertones.

Should be an interesting pheno... might be a bit racy if it’s got some good Zamal influence it should be a helluva ride

Hi ThaiBliss,

The black pepper aromas in Zamaldelica regular version comes from the Thai side of the hybrid.
Zamaldelica's Thai dominant black pepper phenos produce super electric cerebral effects with no ceiling or body heaviness, can be scary for those not used to this kind of effects.

Wish the weather there allows her to go enough into flowering and ripening.

What would the effects be off the Zamal dominant pheno?

Also do you plan to make a pure zamal line?

Thanks Deep Water! Your absolutely right. In the last week and a half or so they have definitely swelled, like she's stacking new clear resin glands and the buds are gaining weight. Not yet but she has to be getting close?

No, worries, dillycid! I'll pass along the thanks to all those who told me the same;)
She looks pretty ready; I like to take them with a bit of steam left in 'em, coupla white pistils. Not really worth taking a tester bud as she'll need a cure to show her real self;o) Couldn't hurt though:biggrin:
