@ Pheno- Yeah, when I took the pic I had it on 30v, but I got paranoid and put it back to 13.5! I'm curious as to how long the solution is good for, before it turns into silver oxide? I've got it in a sealed jar in the fridge for now, really won't need it for a couple of weeks. This stuff is so easy to make, it really doesn't need to have any shelf life past a couple of days, just was curious if anybody knows.
@ Bonsai Bud- LOL!! I'm thinking about melting the coins down and making a silver bullet to kill the weir rooster that lives in my neighbor's mango tree. Every morning, starting @ 4am he's going off. Regular ammo bounces right off this fucker lol! (Pellet gun only, unfortunately!).

festivus I'm not sure exactly about the longevity of colloidal silver, but the main thing is simply keeping it AWAY FROM LIGHT. (Whenever you buy colloidal silver from a pharmacy/chemist/drugmart it'll always be in a lightproof container). Do that and it should easily last months at least. I'm not sure if keeping it in your fridge will increase its longevity or not - it's normally stored at room temperature, actually the main thing I'd be concerned about with that is the light in your fridge that turns on when you open it. But like you said, it's so cheap and easy to make that it's almost irrelevant how long it lasts :)

@ festivus. Gotta get 'em in the head bro. No two ways about it. Just like turkey hunting. Maybe make yourself a nice home-made chicken pot pie,Lol.

@Phenomenal
I've been succesfull already at making bannannas on a Mexican that really didn't wanna hermie. But they were always sterile.I think I failed at it for four successive runs over '08.
Sadly she's gone but I have another thats almost as good that I'll try as soon as I get all these thai hybrids outa the way. Thanks again.
Peace

hardhat22, when you say sterile is there a chance you meant it developed bananas but they didn't open? That's not at all uncommon, but if you simply collect the bananas and cut them open (obviously waiting until they're ripe first!) you can then manually apply the pollen simply by rubbing the opened bananas over the pistils of the target female

What about using 2 plants- wait until they've been in flower for 3-4 weeks then spray one with CS. Keeping the plants next to each other, one should pollenate the other (and itself). Maybe put them together in an air tight container for the dark period. I use an old fridge, worked great when I crossed a white rhino fem with a cali-o male. The fridge didn't have any air circulation but the plants didn't seem to mind.

festivus yep that should work, but it's just that feminised pollen for some reason doesn't seem as 'strong' as regular pollen in the sense that you don't end up with anywhere near as many seeds as you would from a regular pollenisation, so while it should be fine to simply leave the two plants close next to each other i'd still also recommend doing at least some manual pollenation, especially if the bananas don't readily open naturally

Yea,I tried that over and and over.I originally tried it on lower popcorns and suspected the male flowers weren't getting enough light,so I sacrificed a whole plant giving her plenty of light. I tried it at different levels of flower development and even let the flowers stay on until they started changing to a darker color then opened them and rubbed them on the pistils.

Nothing I tried worked. I never actually saw any pollen even from a whole kola full of male flowers that I chopped up and spread all over a non treated plant. But I have some decent plants to play with this year that I wanna try to reproduce including Mods Met.That Dreamweaver x cinnamon/Arjans haze was a bad @ss. Maybe breeder built genetics take to this better than heirloom/farmed genetics? I don't know. Maybe I'll be more successful with the other Mexican, It's thrown some bannannas due to stress already, but it's some really, really good herb.

Pheno,

Thank you my brother. Manual pollenation is no problem! Hardhat, I've heard that some types of plants have been genetically engineered to produce sterile seeds. I was gifted a number of Lowryder #2 beans recently, and all 20 of them were sterile.

just made mine with a7volt ,and 2 15.5 g pieces of .999 silver. They are actually silver collectable stamps put out by Canada post for the 1976 Olympics . I soldered alligator clips on, and got distilled water from drugstore, im all set t o go. I cant wait to have beans of my elite strain Ive had going for almost 10years, it will be great to have her somewhat preserved in seed form. Thanks to those who helped make this possible

Heres mine, i just flipped one of the electrodes on to the top so you can see it, i used a zip tie to hold the wires so the electrodes will not move once set up and running, dont want them dropping all the way in and submerging the alligator clips. What is pretty cool about the adapter i had to use , it has a little green indicator light on it, it was from a rechargeable spotlight i had that died, it has a red light on it that changed to green when it was fully charged,m well in this application it is just green when you plug it in , but it lets you know it is getting power and should be working. just a little added bonus i guess. I ran it last night overnight, This morning , there is chunk ss of grayish stuff floating around in the water, Is this how it is supposed to turn out? I filtered out the chunks and sprayed 2 plants,

One is an , 1995 auto affie x NL/skunk(the skunk/NL plant was from seed acquired from a seed-bank in dam late 90's , unsure of which company, i received it from clone) I made a cross of back in the late 90's and a Nirvana Shiva, I am pretty much done with this strain ,i its good smoke, not really what i am after though, I started a pack of 10 of these 5 years ago to help a freind find a mom, He gave me the pack and just wanted a good female back for a mom, so i grew out 3 females from this pack and selected this one because of potency and taste, one of the phenos was a super yeilder but tasteless, this one is fairly stinky and has a good flavor, so i figure before i let it go , i mays well make some fem seeds to stash away.

I was also wondering , Does anyone know the optimum PPM of the finished solution, I mean it is adequate t o run most generators for around 12 hrs , what is the average ppm when the solution is strong enough to do the job, anyone Know.
My CS turned out at 32 ppm btw

32ppm should do the job quite nicely! :)

Unfortunately nobody's really done any experiments yet with really low ppm's so I'm not sure exactly how low we can go (and it may be the case where if it is a very low ppm then simply spraying the plant more often can help get around that)

Looks like you've got some sweet crosses in the works there as targets! Best of luck :)

wish me luck Pheno..I'm going to try saving a strain after the first of the year with your method! Are silver dimes ok or does it have to be more pure?

Have fun dood! :) you know how to reach me if u have any Q's along the way eheh

It really doesn't matter what shape it's in (be it coins or wire etc), all that matters is that it's pure (ie .999) silver, the water is pure, and you get good electrical conductivity :)

I think I have balls on 1 of my girls. The other isn't showing yet. If this works, all my failure's will be worth it. I used 12ga. half hard 12" wire from artbeads.

hi,ive read the thread, but was a couple of weeks ago,so to recap, please advise if this is incorrect,if i want to make auto fem seeds,i put my auto ak47 for example,in to veg, spray it with cs,then maby 2 weeks later, put my other target plants in,with it,then can i just let nature and my fan take care of the rest?,also how much pollen will 1 auto ak47 make,my intention is to polinate, maby 4 or 5 different females, will 1 ak provide enough pollen?
thanks in advance for any advice,
edit, also, will a pair of tights streached over my exhaust work as a pollen trap,as i have a couple of plants downstairs that i dont want pollenated

Dear PhenoMenal, Took the time to read your thread after it caught my attention. I have been interested in fem seeds for awhile now and of anything i have read, this has got to be the best! Simple, easy to understand and very informative. Can not believe you wrote this 2 years ago. I have got to get out more often.

PEACE
