I think you guys can get a lot more relaxed, for the record I probably sprayed this 6 times, starting the day before 12/12 and the photos are day 15 of 12/12.

Here is the Sour Diesel female that I sprayed with CS once a day for 10 days, and then pollenated it with regular pollen from a Sour Diesel male...

The result: a female that is bearing regular seeds as well as feminised pollen (extra bang for my buck!):

I snipped a bud off tonight to use it to pollenate another plant, and the seeds from inside that are already nice and dark brown ripe.

YES, most absolutely.

Actually the first feminised beans I grew were created from a feminised C99 female, and every bean as a result of that has been a perfect pineapple clone-like representative of its mother, and all grown out female. And zero hermaphrodite issues (for the ill-informed who worry about that).

Well mate, as you're aware it's been known to science for many decades that CS can be used as an ethylene inhibitor to produce pollen from females, but its use with cannabis still seems somewhat shrouded in mystery and myth

But this thread (an indirect result of my talks with you) has helped blow away at least a couple of those myths...

For example, we've discovered that you may only need to spray as little as 5 days to end up forcing the female to produce pollen (i myself have had a strong positive result from just 10 days of once-a-day spraying). [Obviously you still need to wait a week or two afterwards for the pollen to start developing]

We've also discovered that you can still induce a female to produce pollen when it's well into flowering - my Sour Diesel was over a month into flowering before I started applying CS and that is now consumed by pollen bananas (whereas all current guides recommend "start spraying at least two weeks before you send the plant into 12/12 flowering"). Yes you can still go that route, but the plant will be smaller and unless it's a clone you won't know if it's male or female, so we've proven that YES you can wait until you know it's a female before deciding to apply CS.

We've also established that yes you can use a female from feminised seeds as the target mother.

We've also established that you can pollenate a CS-drenched female with regular pollen, and it will still create both 1) feminised pollen (as a result of the CS), and 2) regular seeds (as a result of the exposure to regular pollen).
It may also self-pollenate which is great because the resulting seeds would be feminised, but there generally won't be many seeds from that, plus it'd be impossible to distinguish them from the regular beans.

cellardweller mate, as I said in the first post in this thread it was YOU who first made me realise how easy making CS could be, and as a result of that I made my own CS generator, then made this thread, and since then nearly 50,000 views have been made of this thread, so mate I raise my glass to you in a toast - cheers buddy, and here's to many successful CS feminisations by the viewers of this thread!

getting ready to do this two two pheno's of white rhino. my plants are ...small, very small How many seeds are you getting from this?

I only have female clones (my mothers died) and this seems to be the best way to have some seed stock, so i can grow outdoor or, when i move to a new location.

I would be guessing anywhere from 0 - XXXX. All depending if you get it right and how big your plant is.

I seperated my herm just as it was about to break out and it had a light leak so it locked up for a while, but I got my first tiny batch of bananas the other day. I couldn't tell that I got any pollen off them, but judging by the red hairs on some of the buds, it could have worked. Plenty more pods to come anyway.

The plant is almost fully male. I can barely find any pistils.

Well it was 2007 when I first created this thread and we've all learned a lot since then! *GROUP HUG!*

Nearly fifty thousand views too, and many growers that have since made their own CS generators and feminised seeds

So I've gone back to my original post and pretty much re-written it from scratch, it's lengthier but much more up-to-date with current 2009 knowledge and should be a much better and more informative and easier-to-understand read for newcomers.

I have one question. I am running a bunch on nice clone only strains atm and was thinking of doing a re-veg with my favorites. If i used CS on the re-veg plants 2 weeks before putting them into flower again would that be too much stress on the ladies and posisbily produce hermi beans? Just curious. the re-veg process is stressful as it is.

really stoked about making my CS generator. i just bought these clips that attached to the top of a 9v battery (picture in attachement). and some 22guage .999 silver wire. i bought two feel just in case.

can i just attach the battery with the clip and remove the plastic from the wires and wrap it with the .999 silver wire? Sound good to you guys? basically i did this so that 1) those american eagle coins are $30 a piece these days and you need two of em and 2) i dont want to have to buy a soder just to get the clips on the wire. then how do you suspend it without getting the clips in the water.

I'll show you a picture in a few days once i get my stuff and please advise me if i am doing something wrong.

here is the .999 silver wire. i figure i can wrap this around the bare wire comming off the 9v batt and just dunk the other end of it in water...

i'll post pics when its done. do you think that will work?
