Made some big changes last night. Set up the additional LEDs in another room, and shifted some of the cuts and mothers there. Pruned hard - especially on the ones with multiple grafts to clear growth around the grafts.

Both larger and smaller chambers in the cupboard are now flower. Plants newly gone into flower (in the larger space) are:

C6 (after the other got chopped early, I'd like to see what this one can do with better ventilation and a good 8 weeks of flowering)
GG > BSGxJ; BB07
BB07 > BB10; xGGx (scion failed on this one - got overgrown)
MW1
MW2
MW4
Purple Bud (cut B)

Also moved two plants from the smaller to the larger flower areas:

MW5 (Just realised on taking it out what a beautiful plant this is - really different pheno, sativa type leaves, but compact, with big squat buds - sadly I didnt back this one up as it had been a sickly/ runty child.)
Purple Bud (cut A)

So there is now a bit more breathing space in the smaller flower space, and no need to use the internal door as they are all on the same 12/12. 9 plants flowering in the larger space, 6 in the smaller. More manageable. Pics soon.

Culled the BSGxA#3 male, and the root-trainers with the F2 AKMMWR auto project. No space for these realistically right now, and hundreds of seeds left.

Lots to take in, your grows are spot on, and your attention to the plants is admirable.

Love the form of the MMxWR#5. 😍 Pale orange pistils are pretty. This one will make good bud porn 🍑.

Pollination also took on the BSGxJ. Liking this one too. Stanky citrus terps. branchy and vigorous with lots of buds. (38th day of flower)

Rewired the flower space so all lights are on the same timer. There were only a few minutes in it, but it was bugging me. Previously the smaller and larger spaces each had their own timer.

Realised that the plants that were previously in the smaller flower space had greened up significantly - more than the plants in the larger space when that was veg - and lost all the interveinal yellowing. Aside from the different photoperiods (18/6 vs 12/12) and slightly higher temperature in the smaller space, the only difference was that the plants in flower were getting +1.5ml/litre of Biobizz Bloom... Now that everything is in flower and getting exactly the same feed, I'm betting that the general and interveinal yellowing on the F2 MMxWRs, and the Purple Bud, will disappear. Good control here as I have both types in the larger space now, with a greener Purple Bud and the MMxWR #5 that moved recently from the smaller to the larger, and a Purple Bud cutting and 3 x MMWR that have been in the larger space all along and are still more yellow, all 4 plants with the same distinct interveinal yellowing. The Bloom ferts are NPK 2-7-4. All of them - both in flower and veg - had also been getting 2ml/litre each of Canna A+B, and some supplemental epsom and maxicrop. The sole difference in ferts was the Biobizz Bloom. Maybe the extra Phosphorus is making the difference? Canna A+B combined are 5-4-3.

2.5ml Canna A
2.5ml Canna B
2ml Biobizz Bloom
/1200ml bottle

5:7 Tap (+3ml Nitric Acid pH down & 1 tsp epsom salts to 4.5 liters) / Rain water

Bit cold. Normally I'd let the rainwater come to room temp before using it, but forgot to collect it this morning. Flower space at pot-level is 20-26c.

The F2 Medical Mass x White Rhino #1, #2 & #4 are all male. 95% sure. They are large plants, have not been particularly healthy, and no interesting terps. Will cull them tomorrow 😈 I still have them backed up as grafts. Ive got over 100 seeds from that batch. No need to keep these males. I had cuts of them in a jamjar in flower before, but they died before showing sex.

Have potted up an SQxA and another Green Gelato cutting ready to replace them in flower when they come out.

Crushing it AK v impressive.
Re the airflow id rather have a warm grow without airflow then pulling through cold air.. if smell is an issue you can have a carbon filter scrubbing/recycling the air in the room (no outlet)
CO2 level is the other thing to but has not been an issue for me, even in rooms without intake/exhaust. In my garden its regularly 2000ppm just from me breathing.:off2::hijacked::kewlpics:

...Currently unsure whether any of the F2 Medical Mass x White Rhinos are going to be male. The MW3 and MW5 both female. MW 1, 2 & 4 I have cuttings sexing... will know soon. No worries if no males - I have all but #5 backed up, and will enjoy the bud. I have plenty more of the F2 seed to hunt through for a nice male at some future stage if I fancy it. I'm reckoning the "tallest plants from a batch in veg are most likely male" heuristic is less accurate with a bunch of F2s where there will be significant pheno differences including in overall plant size simply due to the recombination of the different grandparent strains.

Well it turns out that VerdantGreen 's rule of thumb about the tallest plants being male was spot on, in this case. Thanks mate! The 3 males are now culled, leaving some welcome extra air circulation in the larger flower space. Brought the F1 Sherbet Queen x Afghan down from the smaller space to the larger. All much better positioned now. I could have done with a scrog net in the smaller space - had to give some support to the F1 Bagseed Gelato x Johaar as it is getting floppy with the weight of buds. Terps are strong on that one now - almost offensively citrus.

Thanks Dots! Thats interesting re the warmth vs humidity. Minimum temp has bottomed out around 20c, even with the extra air circulation. Its all being extracted via a fan with carbon filter, so no concern about smell - its mainly the potential for mould that was worrying me as everything starts to bulk up. I had to harvest the C6 at 46 days because one of the main colas was starting to rot, so that tipped the balance for me in favour of keeping the humidity down rather than the temp up - and I tend to pack plants close together. Still, I've just got a sweet little passive 40W space heater with thermostat I'm going to fix to the inside of the door at the base, just above the air intake. That should keep everything optimal. Co2 is not something I've thought much about - my bedroom is the lung room for the grow space, so I reckon I'm providing plenty just by breathing.

too bad its a male with that close internodes would have made for a nice bud!
Yeah, so it goes! I've still got 2 females from that F2 seed batch (MW3 and MW5).... and 100+ more seeds... so I'm not too gutted. And they both have nice chunky flowers - the Medical Mass & White Rhino both contributed good things to this cross. Really looking forward to smoking them. :smoke:

That's a healthy looking room
Excellent bud shots

Thanks Gizmo :) Am so glad I managed to turn it around...

In other news, BB#10 (which I just have as a scion on the Blueberry#07 in flower, to the near left in the pics of the lower room, an attractive plant) is definitely female. I'd taken a cut earlier to sex, and thought it was male. I was mistaken! so for the first time in a long time, Alice is doing a sensi grow, with no boys in the room 🤣 heh. I had been planning to let the blueberry #10 scion flower, and make seeds with the Green Gelato, and maybe some of the others. But never mind. I have the BB#07 backed up as a graft. And am not going to pop any more seeds right now as I am rammed. I have cuttings of Green Gelato and F1 Sherbet Queen x Afghan that I potted up a few days ago vegging under some LED spotlights, ready to plug gaps as I start to harvest, but need to flower some plants out before I can pop any more.

Am looking closely at the F1 Medical Mass x Johaar #2, that is ripening incredibly quickly. Plant starting to look tired, and 50% of the pistils now orange. Have started a flush.

I've got time for maybe one more batch this season before I shut down for the summer. Here's my (long) shortlist:
  1. Rhino D (@verdantgreen)
  2. (F1 Johaar x Nitro Lemon Haze #8) x (Johaar 2 #8 “Lemon candy”)
  3. Highland Thai (TRSC, both the few remaining original seeds, and the seeds I made from the first batch of plants I grew)
  4. Syrian (TRSC)
  5. Nanda Devi (TRSC)
  6. F1 Medical Mass x Highland Thai
  7. Ethiopian (ACE)
  8. F1 Afghan Mix (offspring of AFG #1 from last round)
  9. Next round of the AK47 Auto x (Medical Mass x White Rhino) Auto breeding project. This is where the F2s will come out and I get to select the first full autos... funtimes.
  10. (BSG x Johaar) x (BSG x Afghan)
I can realistically only do 3 or 4 of these, tops. You good people have any preference of what you'd like to see next?

I'd say go with the auto project. Find some auto parents in the F2 generation and get the first fully auto seeds done in time for this year's outdoor season. Of course there something to be said for doing as much of the breeding as possible outdoors (if an outdoor strain is the goal) but it can be difficult to distinguish the autos from the earlies then, especially with the males.
