Instead of bombing 9 countries and occupying hundreds of others, I really think we should be focusing on actually making one particular country our priority. You know, that slogan that Clinton said back in 1991, "Make America Great Again". It would be a nice idea if Trump had any clue how to make it happen. His 650 dollar tax contribution certainly is not going to rebuild this nation and buy that wall he wants so bad.

I hear you brother but it doesn't just apply to the US. It seems the whole friggin planet is off their rockers, and it is man made I'm afraid, social engineering!

We are currently living in a world completely devoid of any accountability and values, that went by the way side some time after common sense. We are living in a society of me, myself and I. I know where and how it started but will not discuss it here.

We have a strong sense of community in the Maritimes, always have, always will but, even here it has deteriorated somewhat but, still very much a part of who we are. Gander Nfld is a prime example of that. The '98 Swissair crash. There has been long term friendships developed post 9/11 and the Swiss air crash etc... Heck some have even invited their friends to visit their country all expenses paid mind you. That is what loving your fellow man is all about. We may make fun of our "newfie" brothers. Having traveled the world they are pretty hard to beat.

The powers to be, the true powers, don't want it that way :( It is what it is. It is up to us to make it as good as we possibly can, amidst all the chaos and hate that surrounds our planet! Take care...

World health organization came out Yesterday against lockdowns as the primary strategy to fight covid.
Turns out it starves a lot of people to death.

very worried about my neighbour, she's 98 and was taken to hospital with fever yesterday. they came with full protective suits and masks and goggles to get her, poor lady. damn hospital won't even answer if she is positive or not and she is too old to work out how to use their internal phone system so no news now for 24 hours. she's a very tough lady, she been struggling with the stairs up and down rain or shine. they been telling her she should move to assisted living. but she wants to stay home as long as possible. she's had a couple of falls in the last few years and each time i think that's it, she won't be allowed home, but she always proved everyone wrong, just a week ago she managed the 2 flights. so yeah, hope she will surprise everyone again. although i heard her loudly tell them she doesn't want resuscitation should the question arise. tough old bird as the Brits put it.

Not certain exactly what is being implied here. The obvious assumptions (?) are; that I am not "careful" and I ignore facts simply because I think differently than the fear mongers here? pfft.

Those numbers ^^ = 0.201748 % death rate.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor lady.

My neighbor lady (74yo.) took a trip to the hospital in an ambulance last week. They found cancer :( She too is a tough old bird. No covid. She uses a walker and still is walking herself all around the neighborhood while no longer wearing a mask.
We have lived in this duplex together for over a decade now. Her daughter will be here Thurs. to attempt to convince her to move to an asst. living facility.

Oh boy, I can already hear those arguments :fight:

Loosing our independence as we age "scares" me so much more than covid.

maybe, maybe not. even active duty military have the option of disobeying a direct order from a superior officer. you gotta be ready to prove it was illegal however, in front of a court consisting of superior officers that dislike folks with a conscience...

i didnt mean to imply you are not careful, sometimes its hard to keep everyones positions straight. we had someone outright saying its a hoax, so in that sense being careful is wise imo.

remember we have a top health care system and every single resident of Switzerland is legally obliged to be fully insured, so our death rate is low.

sadly my neighbour has tested positive for covid. first person i directly know thats diagnosed with it. today we were able to reach her, she is asking for pjs and stuff, so she seems well enough to worry about such things. hoping for the best.

gov is saying they will do everything to avoid another shutdown.

Its really hard keeping any virus from spreading when some people (including POTUS) say its not a big deal knowing its lethal to some, in the meantime purposefully spreading it. All you covid-19 deniers should find a way to get and see who survives since you could care less.



The rest of us will take precautions to prevent getting it while we wait for a vaccine.

Well, I think this is has most to do that Sweden was cut of the trade deals between the nations next to Sweden. People werent allowed to travel to Sweden and home again for a long period. Norwegians have had the oppotunity to travel to Danmark and Finland more than Sweden. Sweden also make a lot of money on selling to Norwegians that goes on Shopping trips were the price is much lower, atleast on many products.

From March To May the boarder was totally closed between Norway and Sweden.

Sweden have a much more flat "curve" of Covid-19 cases then the neighbours. So far I have seen.

Agree! However that is in the US for sure but in Canada, court martial are presided by a single judge, not a panel. The judge of course comes from the JAG corps. :tiphat:

This comes down to a matter of perspective.
I could just as honestly complain that almost each of your posts have taken the thread off topic.
From there, it is a small step to ask you modify your content to both accommodate me, and to bring your posting into compliance.

Would just as soon drop the issue, rather than roll it down the road with our noses.
