The war, the separation of the world, or the end of an Empire?​

The American "Straussians," the Ukrainian "integral nationalists," the Israeli "revisionist Zionists" and the Japanese "militarists" are calling for a generalized war. They are alone and they are not mass movements. No state has yet committed itself to this course.

Germany with 100 billion euros and Poland with much less money are rearming massively. But neither of them seems eager to take on Russia.

Australia and Japan are also investing in armaments, but neither of them has an autonomous army.

The United States is no longer able to replenish its military and is no longer able to create new weapons. They are content to reproduce the weapons of the 1980s in an assembly line fashion. However, they maintain their nuclear weapons.

Russia has already modernized its armies and is organizing itself to renew the ammunition it uses in Ukraine and to mass produce its new weapons, which no one can compete with. China, for its part, is rearming to control the Far East and, in the long term, to protect its trade routes. India thinks of itself as a maritime power.

It is therefore difficult to see who would and could start a World War.

Contrary to their speeches, French leaders are not at all preparing for a high-intensity war [1]. The military programming law, established for ten years, plans to build a nuclear aircraft carrier, but reduces the size of the army. It is a question of giving ourselves the means of projection, but not of defending our territory. Paris continues to reason as a colonial power while the world is becoming multipolar. It is a classic: the generals prepare for the previous war and ignore the reality of tomorrow.

The European Union is implementing its "Strategic Compass". The Commission coordinates the military investments of its member states. In practice, they all play the game, but pursue different goals. The Commission, on the other hand, is trying to take control of decisions on the financing of armies, which until now have depended on their national parliaments. This would make it possible to build an empire, but not to declare a generalized war.
Clearly everyone is playing a game, but apart from Russia and China, none is preparing for a high-intensity war. Rather, we are witnessing a redistribution of the cards. This month, Washington is sending Liz Rosenberg and Brian Nelson, two specialists in unilateral coercive measures [2], to Europe with the mission of forcing the Allies to comply. In the words of former President George Bush Jr. during the war "against terrorism": "Whoever is not with us is against us".

Liz Rosenberg is efficient and unscrupulous. She is the one who brought the Syrian economy to its knees, condemning millions of people to poverty because they dared to resist and defeat the Empire’s surrogates.

The Hollywood western discourse a la George Bush Jr. of good guys and bad guys has failed with Türkiye, which has already experienced the 2016 coup attempt and the 2023 earthquake. The world should therefore be divided into two blocs, on the one hand the US hyperpower and its vassals, on the other the multipolar world. In terms of the number of states, this should be half and half, but in terms of population, only 13% for the Western bloc against 87% for the multipolar world.

The international institutions can no longer function. They should either fall into lethargy or be dissolved. The first examples that come to mind are the effective exit of Russia from the Council of Europe and the empty seats of Western Europeans in the Arctic Council during the year of the Russian presidency. Other institutions are no longer relevant, such as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which was supposed to organize East-West dialogue. Only the attachment of Russia and China to the United Nations should preserve them in the short term, as the United States is already thinking of transforming the Organization into a structure reserved exclusively for the Allied Nations.

The Western bloc should also reorganize itself. Until now, the European continent was dominated economically by Germany. In order to be certain that Germany would never get closer to Russia, the United States wanted Berlin to be content with the western part of the continent and leave the center in the hands of Warsaw. So Germany and Poland armed themselves to impose themselves in their respective zones of influence, but when the American star faded, they would fight against each other.

When the Soviet Empire fell, it abandoned its allies and vassals. Having seen its inability to solve the problems, the USSR first stopped supporting Cuba economically, then dropped its vassals of the Warsaw Pact, and finally collapsed on itself. The same process is beginning today.
The first U.S. Gulf War, the 9/11 attacks and their host of wars in the broader Middle East, the expansion of Nato and the Ukrainian conflict will have offered only three decades of survival to the American Empire. It was backed by its former Soviet rival. It has lost its raison d’être with its dissolution. It is time for it to disappear too.

Many details of what happened on October 7 remain shrouded in mystery, including how the 1400 dead Israelis were killed. More and more information indicates that the Israeli army is responsible for the deaths of civilians and soldiers.

Since October 7, the events of that day have been shrouded in mystery. He goes on to describe what happened on October 7:

«The Coordination and Liaison Office was attacked on October 7 along with all outposts along the division line. A large Hamas force seized the adjacent Erez crossing, which was closed for the Simchat Torah holiday. From there, in a few minutes and without resistance, they [the Hamas militiamen] advanced into the military base, killing and kidnapping the soldiers of the Civil Administration, although a few of them managed to return fire before 'be hit… General Rosenfeld holed up in the division's underground war room with a handful of soldiers, men and women, desperately trying to save and organize the attacked sector. This dry and glowing description of the high-ranking officer hiding with a few soldiers in an underground bunker and ordering an aerial bombardment of "the base" where his soldiers were fighting against Hamas militants, perhaps wounded and perhaps taken prisoner, has many to see, to say about the Israeli psyche in these bloody times.

This reminds me of the events of August 1, 2014, during the most violent Israeli campaign against Gaza to date. On August 1, there was a ceasefire, but an Israeli unit launched a provocation which resulted in the capture of one of its soldiers by Palestinian militants. The Israeli response had been devastating, clearly designed to ensure that the soldier Hadar Goldin would be killed with as many Palestinians as possible. According to investigations carried out by Amnesty International and UN, cited in Wikipedia, who are "massive Israeli bombardment killed between 135 and 200 Palestinian civilians, including 75 children, in the three hours after the alleged capture of the only Israeli soldier».

These events are not accidental local eruptions of the "Samsonian" desire to die (or let one's soldiers die) with one's enemies. This is a well-documented official policy of the Israeli military, at least since 1986, known as "Hannibal Directive”, “Hannibal Code” or “Hannibal Doctrine”.

This approach may not have been limited to General Rosenfeld's order to bomb his own soldiers. It will be years before we can (or cannot) have a complete picture of what happened on October 7 and the following days. But in addition to the military deaths, there are also some details regarding the Israeli role in the deaths of Israeli civilians that can already be found amid the massive flow of propaganda surrounding the day's events.

Deaths of Kibbutz Be'eri​

Electronic Intifada published a long interview by Yasmin Porat, describing how she was held hostage by Palestinian militants on Kibbutz Be'eri. According to her account, the kidnappers treated her and the other hostages, “humanly", believing that they would be allowed to retreat safely to Gaza thanks to the protection of Israeli captives. However, when Israeli soldiers arrived, “they eliminated everyone, including the hostages. There was very, very intense crossfire».




His testimony is complemented by that of Israeli soldiers who described how the Israeli army fired tank shells at buildings where the militants and their hostages were hiding.

More recently, Nir Hasson returned to Beeri and interviewed a local resident named Tuval, who was lucky to be away from the kibbutz at the time of the attack but whose partner was killed. In Articlede Haaretz of October 20, Hasson reports:

This quote is important for several reasons; The first is because it adds to the understood timeline of events. This testimony would seem to indicate that many Israeli captives were still alive on Monday October 9, two full days after the events of Saturday October 7. Although it might be understandable that captives were killed in the intense crossfire of an initial Israeli bombardment, in response to the attack on the 7th, this account seems to indicate that the decision to attack the kibbutz and all those who were there was taken as a clear military calculation.

It is clear that Palestinian militants were hiding in these buildings with their Israeli captives as Israeli soldiers fought their way inside with huge tank shells and hand-to-hand combat. It is worth investigating who caused most of the death and destruction that took place. This is particularly important as these deaths are now being used to justify the destruction of Gaza and the massacre of thousands of civilians.

Implications for Israeli captives in Gaza​

All this is not history or just the past. There are implications for the next stage of the war, which could be even bloodier. A central element of the conflict is now the fate of more than two hundred Israeli captives, soldiers and civilians.

For the Palestinians, this is a historic opportunity to free their longtime activists from what they call "the strongholds of occupation." Even though Palestinians know that the liberation of their land is still a distant dream, the release of their prisoners through a prisoner exchange is the most precious victory they can fight for. However, Israel, as it has repeatedly proven in the past and as recent events seem to indicate, may be willing to put the lives of its soldiers and citizens at risk rather than witness the joy of freedom celebrated on both sides of the border.
