Ukraine was OK until the dims meddled with the elections there. They staged a revolution and kicked out the guy the people chose, and had the midget stripper installed instead. Things went downhill from there.

Russians have beautiful women and make good airplanes. What's not to like about them?
how about aggressive behavior? why do you think all those former Soviet countries felt like they needed to join NATO?

they joined because they were, for good reasons, afraid of Russia. why would they be afraid of Russia with no justification?

the former Soviet republics have had a lot of firsthand experience dealing with Russian authority. they have good reasons to fear Russia.

think for yourself, man! you can do it!

i know you won't read it but here is a history of Russian conflicts since 1917.

The Denazification of the West

With thanks to Batiushka, our writer

The Background

Under the duress of US despotism, spineless Western politicians agreed to weaponise the Ukraine. What should have finished in March/April 2022 has been prolonged by Western arms to the end of 2023 and maybe longer – with devastating consequences for the Ukraine and for the West. Indeed, the current war to decolonise or take back the Ukraine out of its US occupation has now reached a critical phase. The Kiev regime offensive (so-called ‘counter-offensive’) against the Russian-led liberation of the Ukraine is the Kiev regime’s last throw of the dice. However, it has been a disaster for US-trained Ukrainian cannon-fodder and US-paid mercenaries, whose electronic chatter in Polish, English and French is constantly picked up by Russian services.

The present failed offensive will sooner or later be followed by the US puppet Zelensky being thrown under the bus, just as the Americans threw their Afghan ‘allies’ under the bus two years ago. The excuse? ‘We did our best, trained them and gave them all the equipment they needed, but they were just not up to the job’. Obviously, no-one in the White House will take responsibility for yet another US failure. They never have done. Meanwhile, those gangsters in the White House continue to bully the Non-Western world, which refuses to bow to its absurd threats. Though they try to intimidate Africa, India, Brazil, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, all are united against their menaces and continue undaunted. Personally, I did not think I would live to see this.

The Deweaponisation of the West

On 13 June (https://news.mail.ru/politics/56606106/?frommail=1) President Putin stated that the offensive had in just nine days cost the Kiev regime 160 tanks and 360 armoured vehicles, about 25-30% of the vehicles given to Kiev by the West. However, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg on 16 June (https://news.mail.ru/politics/56656082/?frommail=1), he updated this to 186 tanks and 418 armoured vehicles. On 18 June (https://news.mail.ru/incident/56672892/?frommail=1) another 33 tanks and 65 armoured vehicles had been destroyed. Figures for Kiev troop casualties and mercenaries seem to be at least 10,000 dead, and we do not include those obliterated with their equipment by long-range Russian missiles. Already on 13 June (https://news.mail.ru/politics/56602216/?frommail=1) Berlin stated that it would be unable to replace the many lost Leopard tanks, at least one of which was captured by the Russian freedom-fighters. Although other foreign tanks, both French and Soviet, have been destroyed, there has been no news so far on losses of British Challenger tanks, which are also basically as old-fashioned as the Leopards. As regards Russian losses, the President stated that these were one tenth of the Kiev losses.

Indeed, on 16 June the notoriously Russophobic BBC confirmed this, stating that since February 2022 the pro-Russian forces had suffered at least 25,000 losses (including 13,000 ex-convicts who had been fighting in the Wagner group). These losses, given by a notoriously anti-Russian source and its censorious journalists, are very low when compared to Kiev KIA losses, estimated by reliable sources at between 250,000 and 350,000 – though, naturally, these are never mentioned by the BBC. This suggests that the ratio of Russian to Kiev losses may even be as low as 1:14, rather than 1:10. On 16 June President Putin also pointed out that Warsaw has been hiding the very high losses of Polish mercenaries, numbering thousands. We can now clearly see that one of the three Russian aims, the Demilitarisation of the Ukraine, has become the Demilitarisation or Deweaponisation of the West. And this is happening in the Ukraine right now.

The Denazification of the West

The Deweaponisation of the Ukraine, transformed by Western intransigeance (called ‘non-agreement capability’ in Russian) into the Deweaponisation of the West, is, however, only the second of Russia’s three aims, the first of which was the liberation of the Russian East of the Ukraine. For the West’s weapons consist not only of military equipment, but also of financial ‘equipment’. In other words, its ‘equipment’ also consists of its illegal sanctions and the global dollar economy. Both these have been bypassed by Russia through the huge support it has received from the Non-Western world with its increasing non-dollar economy and the coming move to the petroyuan as the world reserve currency. However, in order to effect its third aim, the Denazification of the Ukraine, Russia has now also been obliged to effect the Denazification of the West, for the Kiev regime has swallowed the Western Nazi bait wholesale. What does this ‘Denazification’ consist of?

The Nazi ideology is not about long ago German racism. Nazism is far broader than that. Nazism is the whole ideology of Western superiority, the concept that the Western world is the only one that counts, that as the Rest are inferior to it, the West has the tyrannical right – and delusional pride – to destroy all other Civilisations and cultural values by imposing its own on them, through organised violence, racial arrogance, economic blackmail and cultural bullying. How did this come about? Where did this all come from? Anyone who knows the West knows that there is great variety among its peoples and that very many Western people do not share in this hubris. From classic Western culture, who would call Dante and Michelangelo, Shakespeare and Moliere, Cervantes and Goethe, Heine and Dickens, Chopin and Liszt, Puccini and Verdi, Bach and Strauss, Hugo and Renoir, Dvorak and Grieg, Yeats and Joyce, Sibelius and Elgar, Nazis? Nobody. So where did this Western culture of Nazism appear from?

The Loss of Western Spiritual Identity

Any Civilisation is dependent on its essential spiritual and so philosophical and cultural values. Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are the four most important belief systems in the world and account for some 75% of the world, though there are also many smaller ones, such as Taoism, Sikhism and the very small Judaism. Now, although it later deviated into the denominational forms of Catholicism and Protestantism, the Western world began as part of Christian Civilisation. Nevertheless, though both denominations have added and taken away, they still share several basic Christian values. Over the last hundred years and more, arguably since 1914 when Western elites massacred the flower of their own youth in the trenches, though others would say before this and others would say more recently, the Western world has denied even those basic Christian values, the pillars on which it had built its Civilisation.

Firstly, the Western world lost, or rather renounced, its own Spiritual and Civilisational Identity, that is to say, its belief in Christ. It lost its Faith in its own foundation stone. Denying Him as the Risen Son of God and dismissing Him as a mere man and even sometimes rejecting that He had ever existed, it destroyed all faith in its own raison d’etre. Why did it exist any more? For example, it sold its Bibles to Native Americans and Africans, but then stole their lands and resources. What example did those people see in the West? What was the Western ideology worth? It became clear that the West was not Christian, but Capitalist, its only interest was financial gain and its reductionist forms of Christianity were only camouflage. Therefore, it no longer had any spiritual and ideological foundation.

The Loss of National and Family Identities

Secondly, the various Western nations lost their National Identity, that is their Sovereignty. They began to merge not simply into one another, but into an anonymous and homogenous American world. Today, you can visit cities, airports and stores in Western Europe and you may well have no idea where you are. They all look the same, they all have the same transnational and transcorporate look and content. Western Europeans increasingly eat, drink and dress exactly like Americans and watch American films and television. The example of this is the US-modelled EU, which is supposed to be the United States of Europe, a single subservient part of the USA with the same dollar-pegged currency, in other words, little more than a set of client banana-republics.

Thirdly, the Western world is now in the process of destroying Family Identity through Transgenderism. By undermining and destroying the basic building block of any Civilisation, the Family, and proclaiming that there are no longer two sexes, male and female, as God made them, it is ensuring its own death. Where will the men to provide the seed come from? Where will the women to carry children and give birth come from? Transgenderism is the last step in the end of Western Civilisation. It is suicidal, as we can see in the large-scale population replacements by immigrants which have taken place in Western Europe and have so accelerated over the last fifty years.

The Role of Russian Civilisation in Possible European Restoration

In the twentieth century Russian Civilisation was almost completely destroyed by the Western-orchestrated overthrow of the remnants of its Non-Western, non-reductionist, traditional Orthodox Christian Civilisation. The latter was then overthrown by the Western ideology of Marxism, a piece of ideological idealism which utterly failed because it never took into account human nature, that is, reality, specifically Spiritual Identity, National Identity and Family Identity. In the last thirty years, however, the remnants of Russian Civilisation have slowly and painfully been restoring their spiritual roots in Russian Orthodoxy. This very slow return to Orthodox Christianity means that Russia is returning to the same roots that the Western world once possessed, albeit long ago. This means that it is returning from that terminus towards which the West is now heading.

In other words, today Russia and the West are like two trains passing each other, but heading in two different directions. The Russian train is coming from its terminus and heading towards the restoration of its Spiritual Civilisational Identity, of National Identity and Sovereignty and of Family Identity, all of which it almost lost in the years of Marxism. After experiencing the Western deviation of Marxism, today’s Russia is utterly opposed to the narcissistic LGBT elites of the New West, but utterly in favour of the peoples of the Old West and their potential return to their spiritual roots in an untarnished Christianity. The symbol of that New West is its leader, President Biden. He should not be in the White House, elected President only because his senility guarantees that he can be manipulated by those behind him. Rather he should be in a nursing home with mental health care. So should all Western leaders, because they all suffer from the selfsame mental aberration, known as Nazism – the Western superiority complex.

The Russian regular army is on its way to becoming the most powerful army in the world in ground combat

by Gilbert Doctorow

In recent days, we have heard a lot about the outstanding achievements of the private military company Wagner on the battlefield. Their victory in the months-long bloody battles to take Bakhmut/Artyomovsk and Soledar earned them the respect of all of Russia, a respect that even survived the disgrace Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin brought to bear on him. their heads by his reckless armed mutiny over the past weekend.

Indeed, in his speech yesterday to military commanders who had opposed Wagner's march on Moscow and forced Prigozhin to broker a deal, President Vladimir Putin acknowledged that the Wagner group had shown more effective on the battlefield than the MoD's own regular troops.

This remark struck me as rather odd to say to officers who had just saved the Kremlin from the prospect of a disastrous bloodbath at the gates of Moscow. It may have been uttered to soften the shock of Putin's next statement, when he detailed the amount of money that the Russian government had paid to Wagner between May 2022 and May 2023, namely one billion euros in ruble equivalent, both for maintenance of the force and for incentive bonuses, which accounted for 20% of the total.

However, on reflection, I conclude that Putin's intended audience was not in the room, but abroad, in intelligence agencies in London and Washington, in order to give them and the leaders to whom they report, the false hope that the Russian army will henceforth be weakened by the dismantling of the Wagner group.

I say this because official Russia is very circumspect in describing what is happening and what is likely to happen on the battlefield in Ukraine. Yes, they announce the terrible losses suffered by the Ukrainian army and the destruction of Western tanks, artillery and armored personnel carriers in the first two weeks of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. But they remember that Ukrainian reserves have been held back so far and can be released at any time, with unpredictable results. On the Russian side, there is absolutely no question of shouting “Mission Accomplished” in typical American George W. Bush fashion at a premature moment in the war in Iraq.

Yet if one carefully examines the Russian military's daily reports of battlefield operations, one must revise our understanding of who is who, where Wagner's forces stop, and where the forces of the Russian regular army.

The Wagner group distinguished itself in the Battle of Bakhmout, which was largely a war of street fighting, which is always bloody. Despite the artillery advantage of the Russian forces, the capture of one building after another and one street after another took a heavy toll in human lives. It is easy to imagine that the Russian losses were not lower than the Ukrainian losses. For the Russians, this was politically acceptable only because most of Wagner's troops engaged in the fighting were freed prisoners whose lives were not essential, as seen from Moscow. For other special missions, there were the Chechen special forces Akhmat, who did wonders to liberate Mariupol.

However, operations on the battlefield in Ukraine are now conducted in a very different way, that of a traditional war of attrition in which the power of artillery is decisive. From the start of the special military operation, Russian soldiers used tanks, drones and other heavy equipment, while much of the infantry fighting was carried out by Donetsk and Lugansk militias, hardened fighters who defended their own territory. But, seen from Moscow, they were also more easily replaceable than, say, reservists or even contract soldiers from Moscow, Kazan or Vladivostok. In 2022, the Russian regular army was at a disadvantage compared to the Ukrainian army in terms of real-time reconnaissance of enemy positions for targeting purposes. Ukrainians receive this data from American planes and satellites. Also, the Russians are not very good at tank maneuvers and regularly fall into Ukrainian traps or are destroyed by anti-tank weapons provided by the West.

In 2023, we find that the situation has reversed. The Russian military has learned to use drones very effectively. Any shortages of drones it may have experienced at the start of the war were offset by vastly increased production from the military-industrial complex and what might be called "artisanal" production, both by start-ups. ups on the home front and by improvised assembly by the troops themselves near the battle lines.

We have seen many reports on Western TV channels about Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure. Initially, these drones were largely imported, from Iran and other sources. Today they are certainly produced largely by the Russians.

But these attacks on cities are only a sideshow in this war, compared to the reconnaissance drones and kamikaze drones that the Russian army now deploys on the battlefield. Russian soldiers have perfected the coordination of these two types of drones to successfully destroy both the newest NATO heavy equipment and the oldest Soviet equipment that Kiev is moving to the front as part of its so- saying counter-offensive.

Russian news portals today broadcast reports and video footage of the destruction of an American-supplied Bradley armored personnel carrier by a Russian T-80 tank at a distance of 9,5 kilometers, in using tandem drones to locate the hidden target, provide coordinates for accurate cannon fire, and record the target vehicle explosion. This is, of course, a completely new method of tank warfare that requires computer-savvy personnel and very sophisticated communications.

In his show "Evening with Vladimir Solovyov“, the host broadcast several Sundays in a row videos taken during his meetings with officers and soldiers on the front lines in Donbass. Recently, a program was entirely devoted to soldiers operating with drones and their colleagues in artillery and tanks.

In addition to drones, the Russian army now uses attack helicopters, mainly the "Alligators", to destroy Ukrainian heavy equipment on the battlefield. The risks of ground fire or missiles attacking helicopters have been mitigated by a variety of new electronic warfare devices which appear to be very effective in practice. The Russians are also using electronic warfare to disorient and neutralize Ukrainian drones.

At the same time, the Russian military very calmly informs us that they are currently deploying stealth bombers in the war zone. The first flights demonstrated their ability to operate over Ukrainian-controlled territory undetected. If this practice becomes widespread, the Russians will finally benefit from the air superiority which has characterized the war operations of the United States and NATO for more than thirty years.

The most sensational results of the new Russian methods of warfare can be found in Western tabloids and television broadcasts, as the destruction of the Bradleys and Leopards is newsworthy in the supplying nations. These advanced systems are prioritized by Russian soldiers and airmen due to the high rewards the ministry has displayed. As part of the process of documenting the “attacks,” the destruction operations are videotaped and shared on social media by the Russians. What is missing in our coverage is an overview of what this means for our assessment of the military potential of the Russian military.

The neutralization of Ukrainian tanks, armored personnel carriers and artillery means the elimination of the most talented, well-trained and experienced Ukrainian soldiers and officers. This exposes the infantry to increasingly dramatic casualties as the counter-offensive continues at the behest of the paymasters in Washington, Brussels and London.

***

Let us now examine the implications of the above for the end of this war.

So far, in the counter-offensive which began on June 4, the Ukrainians have lost almost 20% of Bradleys supplied by the United States and about the same percentage of Leopards supplied by European member states. NATO. The latest information from the United States on the next tranche of military assistance to Kyiv indicates that heavy equipment lost on the battlefield will be replaced on a one-to-one basis. Note: one for one! Ukrainian forces will have no advantage over the losing position they seem to have today. The conclusion I draw from this is that, regardless of Washington's declarations on the long-term future of the war, it has already given up on the chances of the Ukrainian army succeeding in its mission to liberate its territory of the Russian occupation.

As for personnel, two weeks after the start of the counteroffensive, the Russian military command reported to Putin that the Ukrainians had lost 13 soldiers and officers. Since then, daily testimonies tell us that 000 Ukrainian fighters, or more, have been killed every day on the various fronts where they have carried out concentrated attacks. A report published today in Forbes confirms that Russian minefields and other defenses that impede Ukrainian attacks have resulted in disastrous troop casualties.

In fact, the United States may have given up on the existence of the Ukrainian army. Rumors are circulating that during Polish President Duda's last visit to Kyiv, he and Zelensky made plans for Polish troops to enter western Ukraine in July-August to support the Ukrainian army. If these plans are true, they confirm suspicions that there will be no more Ukrainian army worthy of the name by then due to the dead and wounded, but possibly also due to another consequence the very high casualty rate that many Ukrainian units are currently experiencing: in crippled Ukrainian units, soldiers could eventually turn against their officers in desperation. So far, Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield who saw what awaited them and made moves to surrender have been shot in the back by the National Guard of Ukraine.

The possibility that the rumor of a Polish plan to send troops to Western Ukraine is founded is supported by other rumors concerning the location of the forces of the Wagner group which left Russia for Belarus and are redeployed near the borders with Poland and Western Ukraine.

To those who fear that Poland's entry into the war will bring us closer to a general Europe-wide war and a likely escalation to nuclear strikes, I offer the "consolation" that the eventual engagement of Poland in Ukraine does not undertake the obligations of Article 5 of the Treaty of the North Atlantic Alliance. It would be a Russian-Polish war, which could be limited to the battlefields in Ukraine. And that's all. And even if the battle extended improbably to Polish territory, I do not imagine Germany putting Hamburg in danger to defend Wroclaw (Breslau) or Warsaw against the delirious adventure of the Polish leaders.

***

A few days ago, the dean of the realist school of international relations in the United States, Professor John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago, published on his site substack.com an article entitled "The Darkness Ahead: Where the Ukraine War is Headed(The Darkness Coming: Where the Ukraine War is Heading). It is clearly an essay in which he has invested a lot of time and thought, since he remarks at the very end that he will use it as the basis for the public lectures he will give in the months to come.

This essay has all the characteristics of a professional political science paper. It presents a long series of scenarios describing the possible eventualities. He makes the argument that since the Ukrainians and Russians view their confrontation as existential, neither side will sit down at the negotiating table. This is why, according to Mearsheimer, the war will end in a frozen conflict that may resume in the future. In the meantime, Russia's relations with Europe and the collective West will stagnate in their current state of fracture, and European economies will continue to suffer the consequences of their sanctions on Moscow.

It is very curious that the good professor did not consider the "elephant in the room", namely the possibility of a military collapse of Ukraine and the conclusion of a peace on the basis of capitulation in the face of to Russian requirements.

I mentioned above the very unfavorable casualty rate of Ukrainian forces at the present time in the face of a much stronger Russia and a much more technologically competent Russian military coming out of a year of fighting. Mearsheimer himself describes the ongoing war of attrition as an artillery-decided war in which, by his own admission, the Russians had a 10-to-1 advantage in guns and artillery shells. He adds that given the limitations of stocks and production capacity in the West, there is no way to improve the Ukrainians' chances in terms of artillery in the coming year.

Curiously, Mearsheimer chose to set the Russian manpower losses at 1:2 when by his own logic they should be 1:5 or even 1:10. He also comments on Russia's demographic advantage, which he now pegs at 5 to 1, taking into account the flight of Ukrainians abroad, including the 4 million who have settled in Russia itself.

So let us draw the obvious conclusion from the very facts that Professor Mearsheimer has presented to us: Ukraine is on the verge of being annihilated militarily, which suggests surrender, whatever Washington wants or hopes for. Moreover, with the Wagner group blowing down their necks just across the border, on the side of Belarus, it would be completely mad for the Poles to continue their "rescue" of their Ukrainian friends, which, more realistically, could be called an occupation of defeated Ukraine.

The future will tell. But for now, time is on the side of the Russian cause.

in this one article, it is claimed that the West is both Marxist and Nazi.

really?

It's cooler to just spam propaganda than try and carry a discussion.

I can see the animosity from both sides. Russia was a fairly peaceful country until nato expanded. Ukraine was a fairly peaceful country until Russia invaded.

Oh well. I dont think this country has ever stood behind a single treaty it created anyway

Tell me about the animosity from Russia.

Russia has never been that peaceful.

NATO exists because of Russian aggression.

NATO isn't fighting in the war.

The way I see it is that Russia is doing the same thing that they did in Crimea... if they had held land long enough they would have likely "held fair and balanced elections" so that people on the lower rung of the intellectual scale believe tons of propaganda about the "fair and balanced elections".

All of that and add to it.... We have wasted a shitload of money on military because of Russia. $700 Billion per year. That could be allot of jobs, education and high speed rail to everywhere. Fuck Russia. I say let's just get it over with them starting with Pootini, Mister Shit cocktail himself.

forgot to show this from ISW. The blue represents areas Ukraine has taken since the counter-offensive started.

In addition to this gain, they have also moved back into the southeast edge of the city.

For the moment. This Belarusian/wagner deal will probably change that. Then its WW3

Let's just work on the Russian aggression part for a minute...

Do you see the point where Putin's hand was forced?

Do you have an opinion on the invasion?

What do you think happened in Crimea when Putin invaded and decided to "hold elections"??

Do you believe that Crimea or Ukraine wish they were occupied by Russia??
