@entropical here you go buddy, some more logical fallacy! "who is prigozhin?" hilarious! Are you also looking for a career as a stand-up comedian like lavrov and dmitry orlov?

i'm buying gasoline at lower prices right now than just before the war started.

the eu is not hurting from the lack of Russian energy either. they just made some adjustments.

Putler thought that he had the West blackmailed over their need for energy. his arrogance has made him blind.

now he is reduced to selling to a much smaller number of players who are manipulating the situation for price breaks. primarily India and China and southeast asian countries.

these folks do not want refined products from him as they already have refineries. they just want the crude.

Russia wants to sell refined products but that market has been cut off from them.

the net result of all this is that russia is pumping the same amount of crude as before but is getting 40% less for it. same overhead, less profit.

There is now an "invisible dead man" in the living room of Russians - this is how Putin got through his big lie

The only thing that unites Russians is the fear spread by the Kremlin's propaganda, which boils down to the horror image of "the entire Russian people" being judged in The Hague.

Tallinn, Estonia

Political researcher Grigori Yudin does not believe official Russian opinion polls, according to which even 75-83 percent of Russians still support Vladimir Putin's role as president and his war of conquest in Ukraine.

Judin is currently active as a visiting researcher at Princeton University in the United States and in international contexts also uses the first name Greg . However, he still works part of his time in Moscow, where he recently went to feel the atmosphere.

- In Moscow, I encountered for the first time that people realize that Russia is at a standstill because of the war in Ukraine. They are no longer happy, and they wonder if there is any way out of this, Judin described recently at the Lennart Meri conference in Tallinn .

According to Judin, however, the Kremlin's propaganda has worked incredibly well in the sense that ordinary Russians fear that their entire country will be destroyed and the entire nation will be condemned if Russia does not win the war.

- Putin is helped by the fact that the Russians fear that the entire nation will be judged. Russian propaganda has created the image that approximately all 140 million citizens will be put in train cars and taken directly to the war crimes tribunal in The Hague if Russia loses the war, Judin describes.

This kind of horror image has been spread, among others, by RT channel editor-in-chief Margarita Simonjan . We remember a video statement from him, according to which The Hague is even waiting for a "Kremlin cobblestone sweeper" if for some reason Russia does not win in Ukraine.

According to Judin, the Kremlin's propaganda has also succeeded in convincing Russians that the entire Western world hates Russians.

Putin has made his people believe that Russians have always been hated in the West - and that now Russians are hated even more because of the war in Ukraine. This, in turn, leads to the fact that the Russians do not even dare to think about anything other than a forced victory in the war in Ukraine.

- Even those Russians who did not support the war in the beginning now think that we are doomed to be enemies of the West forever, so we must try to win this war now or it will be bad for all of us.

In official and public contexts, Russians still support Putin's war, but privately and at home the mood is much darker. Many Russians who participated in the Lennart Meri conference said that people in their circle of acquaintances increasingly resort to antidepressants in order to move forward in life.

According to Judin, Putin's war has become for Russians like the famous hippopotamus in the living room, but Judin illustrates his metaphor by talking about a "dead man" instead of a hippopotamus.

- Russians now have a dead man in their living room, but everyone has to pretend that it is not visible and does not exist. Instead, it would be high time for the Russians to bury that dead man.

According to Judin, the West should develop a plan on how to get the message across to the Russians that taking responsibility, admitting guilt and reviewing past crimes is worthwhile, because that is the key to a better future for all of Russia.

- Russians should be offered a view of the future and a way out. They need to be told that it is possible to negotiate with Russia, if they are ready to bear political responsibility and change the leadership of their country, Judin describes.

"Russians should be offered a view of the future and a way out."

Yudin says that he also agrees exactly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi that there can be no negotiations with the current Russian leadership.

- Not with the current one, but the next one can and must be negotiated already.

According to Judin, three things are fundamentally wrong in Russia.

The first is the belief instilled in Russians that ordinary people should be passive. That they cannot and must not influence the politics of their country, in which case they also do not have to bear responsibility for the actions of their leaders.

The second is imperialism, which the Russians consider natural, which also justifies completely unjustified wars, such as Putin's attack on Ukraine.

The third is that all of Russia is stuck in the past. People are taught that it's not worth dreaming about the future, but that everything worth striving for and being proud of is in history - either in the restoration of Russia's old borders or in idealizing the victory of the Second World War.

- All these things are so horribly wrong in my home country.

When the whole world was just guessing about Putin's intentions in February 2022, Yudin wrote an article in which he announced that Putin intended to start Russia's most senseless war of all time. The article was published on OpenDemocracy's website on February 22, 2022, i.e. two days before the attack order given by Putin. In it, Judin also already predicted that the war in Ukraine would lead to Sweden and most obviously also Finland joining NATO.

On the first day of the Great Ukrainian War, February 24, 2022, Judin took part in an anti-war demonstration in Moscow and was beaten by the police. He suffered a concussion and was taken unconscious to the hospital, much to the shock of his colleagues and students at the private Moscow University of Social and Economic Sciences known as Shaninka.

Judin got out of the hospital the next day and wrote this on her Facebook page:

- Infinite thanks to all of you for your support, I'm only now realizing its extent. If there is this much love and goodness in the world, the darkness must give way. It has to give way.

In March 2022, Judin learned that the Russian Prosecutor's Office was looking for information about his money transfers and visitors who had visited him at the university.

At Princeton, Judin is now finishing her second doctorate, but she wants to settle permanently in Russia in the future. His idea is that Russia will soon need scientists like him to help repair the damage that the country's current administration has caused in society.

Judin also believes that he will see the day when one of his greatest future utopias will come true.

- There will come a day when the government of my home country will apologize to the Ukrainians for this war.

The EU is not hurting lol. It is a bureaucracy funded by its member states, meaning its economy consists of nothing more than the sum of what individual member states provide. The european economy is a different matter:

Last week Germany announced that, after the government statistics agency revised its recent GDP figures, it was clear that the country was in recession. In recent history it has tended to hold up well as the global economy softened relative to some of Europe’s weaker economies. But this time it seems that Germany is leading the pack into recession.

This is because the recession that is currently looming over Europe is fundamentally different from previous iterations. The coming recession is no simple turning of the business cycle. Instead, it could be the beginning of the deindustrialisation of the European economy, which no longer has access to cheap Russian energy.

While the propaganda outlet Politico, with its ”experts” from american think tanks, says all is well Germany is in recession after anti-russian sanctions and Nord Stream sabotage (which by the way was an act of war).

This is basically Morgenthau plan 2.0 for Europe and if anyone suggest that the US care for the wellbeing of europeans they are lying. What it cares about is to enrich itself by spilling the blood of others, and that is all.

As for Prigozhin I note that you did not have an answer, while others have debated if he is founder of Wagner or if perhaps some other guy was founder and Prigozhin maybe took over as commander. So, your thoughts?

Recent report on american think tanks…

The analysis finds that the vast majority of media mentions of think tanks in articles about U.S. arms and the Ukraine war are from think tanks whose funders profit from U.S. military spending, arms sales and, in many cases, directly from U.S. involvement in the Ukraine war. These think tanks also regularly offer support for public policy solutions that would financially benefit their funders without disclosing these apparent conflicts of interest.

and you are not slinging propaganda? Germany may have a recession beginning but it's not because of the lack of Russian energy resources. recession is not depression.

Russia is depressed and most of the ordinary people live in abject poverty.

and if you truly do not know who Yevgeny Prigozhin is you are living in an information tunnel and pretty much get all your information from one source who has forbidden folks in Russian media from even mentioning his name or the name of the Wagner mercenary army he owns and directs.

what is happening in Ukraine right now is not a "debate". it is a nasty, dirty, smelly, cesspool of death and destruction.

but, you are right about one thing. there are arms being made by defense contractors because it's their job to do so. under contract, by the government, funded by taxpayers.

does it not function like this everywhere? including Russia

on feb 24 2022 putler had a choice. he could have called off the dogs of war and sent everyone home to their families alive and unmaimed. but he didn't.

they will stop him in Ukraine. it's time to put an end to his dreams of imperial conquest.

meanwhile, here's something for you to gloat over!

Notice how the nato troll op propagandist writes ”pacifists”, like there is no such thing as a neutral position. So this is all part of a campaign of warmongers to smear neutrality and anti-war. The propaganda denying a neutral position is about prolonging conflict.

I do not take a neutral position as Russia has every right to defend itself, they came in to aid the Donbass and Lugansk Peoples Republics when they asked assistance after Ukraine broke the ceasefire and began shelling in preparation for a ground assault.

Ukraine had their chance to opt out with a peaceful settlement.

This is why I asked because Prigozhin does not own Wagner and neither does he direct them. As for the russian economy being in a depression it is yet another example of your delusion. April 2023 saw industrial production increase 5.1 percent to the previous year and the output of manufactured goods was the highest recorded.

Meanwhile we are still waiting for the great ukranian offensive.
