U.S. wants Russian military ‘weakened’ from Ukraine invasion, Austin says

The United States hopes the war in Ukraine will result in a “weakened” Russia that no longer has the capacity to invade its neighbors, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Monday

“We want to see Russia weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine,” Austin said.

the United States hopes Russia will be “weakened” by the war. “It has already lost a lot of military capability and a lot of its troops, quite frankly, and we want to see them not have the capability to very quickly reproduce that capability,” Austin said.

Austin said the United States hopes “to see the international community more united, especially NATO.” He cited the sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and its allies as an example of how the war in Ukraine has made the security alliance more unified.

how isn't this a proxy war that the US is using to destabilize Russia so they can continue expanding NATO? Russia poses no real threat outside of being provoked to invade by the west & NATO? The US's police budget is larger than the entire military budget of Russia lol.
No shit. Of course you want a strong militarized Russia.

They found a notebook of the Major who was in charge of some of the Azovs still trapped under the steel mill.

These are the media heroes, whom Americans should send billions and die for, in order to preserve their way of life.

yeah i think kicking that particular can down the road, is way better then having that particular can explode in a mushroom shaped cloud i think. its basically the whole cold war. mutually assured destruction, so lets not do this.

like i said sometimes none of the options are good, so a delay in the hope a diplomatic solution can be found is logical.
you are assuming that Putrid would actually start a nuclear war (destroying HIS country also) because someone said "no" and meant it. i'm not so sure that he would, or that his military would actually obey that order. if "a diplomatic solution" is to be found, it won't happen with him in power. so far all of his proposals have boiled down to "kneel before me, slave, and do as you are bid". i know, it's difficult to grow up as a bully & then find out that you aint "the one" that you thought you were... egos are such fragile things.:comfort:

I believe Putin is mightily pissed off with the U.K. ,,
after our government refused to confirm or deny that the SAS were out there causing chaos on the Polish and Ukraine border,,
so waking up today to find out the U.K. has sent 8000 troops to shore up the nato borders is really gonna “ stir his coffee” ,,,,,

Looks to me like there is a plan to destroy many of the weapons in the EU and USA.
Mainly EU and they're screwed. The big man from Cuba had a crystal ball 30 years ago.

Yep,,,,
if The Brits are there then its “ not a stretch “ to assume US Special Forces Canadian SFare there also along with the French SF and a shift load more of other countries SF,,,,
news here reported a few days ago that there were Special Forces in an unnamed former Warsaw Pact country helping train Ukrainians for guerilla warfare in case Russia did manage to overwhelm them. huh...sounds like Afghanistan again. anyone remember how that worked out for Russia in the end? :biglaugh:

Americans should be asking themselves why there is a bottomless pit of money available to fight wars but relatively barely a dime available to deal with anything which would truly benefit the US people.

Uh... We do.

There's a certain portion of people in America that believes that anything that benefits the US people is socialism or communism.

Remember when every single republican just voted against lowering the price of insulin to $30?

Wars like pandemics make money for powerful people. The liberals cheering on the war, the liberals cheering on the pandemic, there is a pattern.

- it always makes me wonder - if there is someone - or some group - out there - playing some mad game of tin-soldiers with 99.9999%+ - of the worlds population - wars being cyclical - and very profitable to a few - to the point where they are sold to us and encouraged by government and media - commercialized - advertised and serialized - a buck made on every bullet - and $10 or more - on a body bag -

- roll-up - roll-up! -
