my gf x bb smells like blueberry under LED and grapefruit under HID

Thanks for posting that Chron, I had my reservations about saying that, thinking I wouldn't be believed, but then I thought fuck it, its true, as is everything I say, no point trying to blag on IC, way too many expert's to catch you out!
I've seen some weird shit over the years, who else has seen their plants shake their leaves? Usually happens just after light out or on, freaked me out the first time I witnessed it.

Haha window I've seen that and It scared the shit out of me at the time! I didn't realise that it was something that plants did. I'd completely forgot about that until now

I did a lot of testing for an LED company that got a lot of bad press.Their eqpt was very expensive but I never paid a penny for the several panels they sent me.It was a US company but the lights were coming direct to me from china. If I hadn't lost them all in a bust I would never have gone back to growing under HID,because those lights definitely grow magic herb. For pretty much every cultivar I grew under LED that I had also grown under HID I ended up with a sweeter, more pungent and denser end product.I partially put that down to the fact that you are simply going to boil more terps under the heat of HID than under cool diodes.I would recommend any grower to consider using high quality LEDs.I found that a large number of smaller wattage chips worked better than a smaller number of higher wattage (12 x 50w was the largest I tested).LED growing is slightly different to HID growing in a couple of subtle ways but once you get that sussed you're away. It's also way easier to spot any leaf problems much earlier under LED.

For the ultimate automated setup I'd have

An opticlimate with all the extra accessories co2, vpd, camera etc
Dimlux lighting and controller
Current Culture RDWC system
Bluelab Dosetronic connected to fresh RO water feed

Your plants would grow themselves literally

What's the deal with those Kahn AC units. I might trial one out seeing as summer is approaching

So to avoid the water company gettin giddy I'm in need of something that uses a air con and not a water Cooling system. ..

Good advice! !!

So what is the best way to set this up big with an eye for budget. ?.. fully set for remote monitoring built in a fukin bunker ..

What's the power usage?

Even if you are not on a meter it still might look suspicious imo 5000+ litres of water a day (more from the bigger units) it could warrant an investigation. But there are people out there using them just fine so you could probably get away with it.

A/C's will use nearly as much wattage as your lights but a little less I think. So leccy bill will be through the roof. I would love a sealed room but imo in the U.K it is not neccesary. Things are all good 9 months a year so I stick with my intake and out-take fan on an SMS hybrid controller.

One thing I will be upgrading to though is gavitas with the master controller. It dims the ballasts down automatically if it gets too hot.

Sealed room is not worth the hassle and cost unless you're in Spain or something. But let us know if you do go with a sealed room I'd be interested to see how you get on with it.

As posted above,I'd seriously consider looking into LEDs,less heat so air con not required.
If I had carte blanch to build a large room I would use a combination of CMH and spectrum-king LEDs.

MY personal preference is sealed rooms, I mean there's not much efficacy in rooms running air con while air exchanges are happening constantly your just cooling the world.... the polar bears may thank you tho...

jokes a side I have ran many setups over the years as I imagine we all have , but ive always been a big fan of automation especially on the larger scales. I've always reinvested in hydroponic technologies which I thought may be beneficial for smooth operating and allow freedom something we all deserve ....

my setup as follows :
100% pressure tested self built sealed room ..
6 x Gavita 1000w DE's with master controller and contactors controlling DI/ humifiers and CO2 dosing system according to light cycle.
Kahn climate control Little Boy hydroponic air con which can heat and cool and has night and day modes and also distributes the CO2 .
Dri- Eaz revolution Dehumidifier with a built in humidistat and a HR-250 humidifier controlled by a Faran humidistat and the water that comes from dehumidification is reused for humidification so closed loop theoretically
6x circulating fans directly in line with Gavitas. {for obvious reasons}
Super pro C02 measuring system which supplies an Ecotechnics solenoid valve which connects directly to the 32kg (gas weight) C02 bottles and then its piped to the air con to push out above the light canopy. ( always have fans pulling air from root zone to the ceiling as its common knowledge C02 is heavier than air and it will saturate the roots and cause problems that may take a long time to diagnose)
Water system comprised of 750lts flexi tank and the watering intervals controlled 2 nutrimatic SMS com pump timers on lights on cycle (controlled by Gavita ECM1s)
10 topspins so 120 drippers in total 60 per pump 2 per plant all in a H pattern so drippers drip equal amounts.
Blue lab guardian and air pumps ..

I have been dreaming about the ultimate in self automated grow setups for years and i have only just noticed this new lot of closed loop systems...

my only concern is electric consumption with big setups. any idea what the cheapest way to run it is? ... it's a lot to think about..

will be going solar soon , closed loop off grid all sealed :tiphat:

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Cheesegez again.

Cheesegez your room is one of the cleanest i have seen come from the UK in a very long time. Great post with lots of detail, wish i had more rep to give you.

Just a few small questions:

How big is that room?
What kind of footprint are you allowing the Gavitas to cover?
How long do the CO2 tanks last / how often do you have to refill them.

Next place that I get I want to try and run a small sealed room, definitely seems like the way to go.

James Bond rooms are nice and Id have one too in another life but with advanced grow tech, the more you spend, the returns diminish. wether or not its worth the escalating cost of wringing out every drop of productivity depends on the grower.
For me it would only be for the mad scientist in me that likes cool stuff.

it's an amazing setup you have done here..id love to know the budget x's overheads etc..pretty penny for such a pretty room..

off the grid is a design of love to look into a lot more...

talk as much as you like bro.. I could listen to ramble all day on this one

I'm thinking of locking the door 1 week into veg and monitoring it remotely for the full term . only returning at crop time.. i was even day dreaming about devising a way to cut the main stalk and hoist them upside down and remotely running a drying process.. basicaly I just wanted to be responsible for transferring dry plants to the pruning machines and making oil, bubble an sift .. that and establishing them initially.. easy job for once....ahchhh heaven
