According to the tale, it was a woman growing the plant on her windowsill, who said that to her it smelled like cheese, hence the name. This is how the story goes more or less, right?

What many of you guys seem to miss is; i understand it was a clone in vegetative state the woman was growing, while you guys are talking about the aroma of the flowering/ripe plant. Big difference, i'm sure you all agree.

I have few UK Cheese f1 hybrid (with Deep Chunk & Blueberry) cuts as keepers and both kind have spicey/skunky tones when you rub the stem in veg, so i can totally see how a person might associate those aromas to some pungent old cheese.

When in perfect health and environment, these cuts are quite skunky/pungent in veg, when a little shake can give out a nice little stink.

That story doesn't preclude the story I heard - could well be true also and what preceded the bit I heard. The account I heard was like "We called it cheese cos..." blah blah but doesn't say who started it. The only inconsistency is that they didn't think it smell literally like cheese whereas according this story, she did and thats where it began.

All the "info" and stories we've ever heard about this smelly bitch could be a load of old bollocks, well never know lol
