Less workers =greater demand for workers. Thus wages go up. It's supply and demand. Illegal aliens are not creating jobs.rhey are taking jobs.

As far as H1-b I am aware of it and no I don't support it. I am fully, aware that silicon valley (Democrat supporters) is using this program to cut the wages, just like construction does with illegals. Good to know that the only jobs that matter are computer programming jobs. That had to be most elitists attitude I have heard in quite a while, Do you look down on everyone who doesn't work in a corporate career or just me?.I am not stupid or rural. I may not work for a big corporation, but I understand basic economic principles. Leftist really can't claim to use logic when there policies have been a complete failure. The war on poverty which has produced more dependant people who have no opportunities. Meanwhile the government spends close to a billion dollars a year to fight it. The schools suck, and thfe teachers unions have kept crappy teachers who don't produce results, thus people stay poor and trapped. The cure to poverty, is a quality education, not massive government welfare programs.
.on a grand scale, leftist policies produce what we are seeing inVenuzuela where people are smuggling food from Columbia, people have no toilet paper, hospitals have no medicine. The consequences of leftist policies are very real. The suffering is real.

In no way does that address what I offered & you quoted.

Explain why business would hire more workers in the face of reduced demand.

Dude...direct question and answer isn't his thing.
I'm not picking on PF...but in the last thread I asked him 7 times the same direct simple question and while he insisted he was answering it the closest I got him was a statement that literally was 180° different than what the question even was...and would have done a politician proud!

I do not understand the logic.

The dude making a billion dollars a year is paying more, millions more, than the average taxpayer. I am trying to figure out the point you are trying to make?? So....'rich' people should pay more. Like how? Percentage wise? I noticed the 'Trump pays no taxes' comment earlier and I think to the ONLY tax information we have on him...oh and by the way revealed by Maddow on a super hyped show...we found out that on less than $200 million in income, he payed over $30 million in taxes in just one year. Now, I don't know about you but I would say that paying over $30 million dollars in taxes...in a single year...is pretty amazing. To make so much money that you pay over $30 million dollars in taxes in just one single year. In other words, that motherfucker is paying for more shit than anyone you will ever know...personally...that is.

But the question I have is...how much? How much do you want or rather feel the government deserves of the income a person makes off their labor. This is America baby...where anyone can reach the top...because of economic freedom. A bloated federal government only hampers that freedom.

Percentage wise. Yes.

The government doesn't DESERVE anyones money!

I hope you don't pay your taxes because the government "deserves" your money.

No need to tell me about economic freedom either my friend. I'm at the top.haha

I've been in the 40% bracket for years. I payed hundreds of thousands of dollars this year, just like I have for years. That's on income alone. Property tax was a fkn GRIP too but well just keep it to income.

And just to be clear.... I'm not complaining one bit. How can I, It's me an Bill Gates home slice.

So you keep on reminding yourself about Americas greatness and if you ever have any doubt, just PM me and cruise by the house (one of them anyways)lol. You'll never doubt it again.

I'm in fkn 3D! Walking and talking, in the flesh proof BABY. :tiphat:

I hope you are as rich as Bill Gates.I don't wish poverty on any American.

Ad far as the question about less foreign workers, I have answered it 3 times. It's a very simple less supply =more demand. Less low wage workers, companies will have to compete for a smaller pool of potential employees. Thus wages rise. If I need a carpenter bit all the carpenters are working for other companies, my only choice is to offer more money, or hire someone without the skills, and train them. Either way carpenters are now more valuable. It's the same reason gold and silver are valuable. There is a finite amount, if you want it you will pay what the market demands.

Good lord packerfan, I never said I was as rich as Bill Gates. I hope you'd call bullshit if I did.lol

I'm just in the same tax bracket.

My post was directed to vta though. That's why I quoted him. I can appreciate you not wishing poverty on any American. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and take It that you mean anybody, not just American. I don't wish poverty on anybody either. That makes us both like everybody else with half a brain. Hurray....we have half a brain!:)

Also... I wasn't pressing you on the immigration/foreign workers stuff. That was Jhnn I think.

I looked into your discussion about it to find out what you were talking about and I gotta say that IF I WERE discussing this subject with you, this post would also include all the flaws I see with your theory, but I am not, so it won't.

Did you and brown thumb shake hands yet? I think he missunderstood what you wrote because you failed to add a few key words to your scentence. He thought you were telling him that everybody thinks HE is a conservative and that they all think HE wants to hurt poor people.

Because that what you wrote.:tiphat:

I am pretty sure that Brown thumb knows I wasn't calling him a conservative. But just to clarify

Brown thumb, I was referring to myself as a conservative, I apologize if I miss typed.

I was not happy about the sessions memo, for the most part it's bullshit. I do agree that we need to go after the cartels. There is a huge difference between a peaceful cannabis user, a hard drug addict and a cartel member. That being said, drs. Play a huge part in the opioid epidemic. I doubt anyone here supports the Chappo s of the world. I belive that all cannabis users represent the movement, and we should hold each other to a high standard. Changing the stereotype of the dumb lazy stoner is key to being taken seriously.

For the sake of not contributing to the closing of this thread, I will keep it confined to cannabis related post.

To Jhhnn, resin lung, vta, cannavor, subrob, toxic hippie I wish you bountiful harvest. It's a good thing that we can keep it fairly civil, now if the politicians could do the same we would be much better off as a nation.

I think that increased heroin production is an unfortunate result of cannabis legalization.

Hear me out. Poor farmers in remote areas of the world need a high value cash crop to get what they need from the outside world. So they grow illegal drugs, something at least semi-tolerated by the authorities in those countries. Coca, Opium poppies, cannabis, khat & probably some other locally favored intoxicants.

Legalization kicks the demand for Mexican cannabis right in the nuts. The farmers & cartels have high demand for everything else so they switch to heroin, just like the Colombians switched to cocaine back in the 80's. Pound for pound, cocaine & heroin are enormously more profitable than cannabis, anyway, always a huge consideration for professional smugglers.

I figured it out after R-L posted much earlier... and it's why I apologized soon after that. It's all good.

I suspect you're right... in a way. However, the market demand for cocaine and heroin won't change with legalization of cannabis. The demand for cannabis 'might' increase... and tax revenues will definitely benefit. I surmise that, with legalization (and cheaper cost) of cannabis, the demand for heroin 'might' actually decrease slightly. Also, since cannabis is the majority of the cartels' market, cannabis legalization will cut murderous drug cartels off at their nuts.

Of course, this isn't what our politicians want. What they want is to continue lining their pockets, at our taxpayer expense, to perpetuate this 'War On Drugs' ad infinitum.

In states with medical cannabis, opiate related death's drop 25% on average, so I don't think the demand for heroin would increase due to legalization . The price may drop and the supply may increase. I have done some research on heroin, since I have a heroin addict in my family. In most metro areas a shot of heroin can be had for less than the price of a pack of cigarettes. It is horrific to watch someone you love turn in to a junkie, I still feel that Drs. Have a hand in creating the market for heroin. My cousin did pills for years before he went to the needle. The fact that oxy and Roxy were handed out like candy for years is unfathomable.now Dr. Are scared to prescribe opiates which is a good thing, but most still treat cannabis as if it's as bad or worse than opiates is a travesty. In a way the damage is done. I am an old fucker but I know young kids who think heroin is cool.

Cheap and plentiful heroin is a good thing, if you're a junkie. Biggest problem with being a junkie is the price and purity of the dope, and the lifestyle that comes with that. If they had access to clean and cheap heroin, they could live a reasonable life and be just as ordinarily unhappy as most of the people on the planet today.

I don't know how you live a normal life on heroin

I think this is Jeff Sessions trying to show us how tough he is. His problem is he lied to the Congressional panel that confirmed him.
He knows he doesn't carry much weight with his statements.

Too many republicans smoke now and won't go back.

I'll just do what I did for decades before Medical cannabis.
