speaking of opiates and the money
a bust this morning in NC for a $500,000,000 opium poppy crop
1 acre in extent, but the 1/2 billion price tag sounds a touch high
1st big opium poppy seizure i can recall in the usa

Funny thing is the guy answered his door with "You're here about the opium?".

The Sheriff didn't even know it was out behind his house!

I think this is Jeff Sessions trying to show us how tough he is. His problem is he lied to the Congressional panel that confirmed him.
He knows he doesn't carry much weight with his statements.

Too many republicans smoke now and won't go back.

I'll just do what I did for decades before Medical cannabis.

He lied on the official forms to get national security clearance & lost control into the investigation wrt what he lied about. His congressional cronies won't go after him but maybe his own department will.

seems like every month sessions gets another chink in his armor

it is very hard to understand what session's was thinking when he made these statements
this man KNOWS the law, he certainly had lots of practice using to destroy other people's lives
but this is a stupid bone headed mistake, he may yet get the barbed wire enema he gave to others

"Americans who need jobs aren’t going where the jobs are"
This article sums it up nicely. There are no shortage of jobs and many good paying jobs, there has not been for several years.
Unhappy bitter people living in the sticks of rural nowhere America, complaining how the "American Dream" has passed them by......
What they need is to develop a work ethic/ desire to actually do something and do what generations before them did, - they need to pack up and move to where the work is.

Seems your the one unhappy and bitter ready4. Your constantly acting like an eletist jerk. Blaming and belittling your countrymen and fellow cannabis enthusiasts all over an election. Sad.

I'm willing to accept your point that it's hard for certain employer's to fill jobs. One friend of mine a contractor had trouble finding help, but he increased his wages and in turn charges more for a superior product. Another friend owns a restaurant, very hard to find any help. Increased his wages and his prices and is finding success.

Globalization, illegal workers, h1b, changing consumer market place all play a role. Not just rural hillbillies not willing to pack up their lives and move to Indiana to work for $15 an hour.

I think with Trumps ability to completely flip on an issue, could be to our benefit. If,we show him that sensible cannabis policy is what Americans of many different walks of life want mabey he will see that it's a winning issue for most Americans. The only person who can keep drug warrior Sessions in line is Trump. Maybe he will realize that Sessions is wrong on this issue. We need a loud national NON PARTISAN spokesman. No liberal will reach him, it's going to have to be someone who doesn't constantly trash Trump and conservatives.

wow, seems like 90% of posts are general political anti-Trump posts.

Can't the anti-Trump guys at least stay on topic and keep the thread about pot?

O

if anything, this thread should be a wake up call.

growers have been complacent, myself included, in thinking legalization was just around the corner.

We lost our momentum pushing for legalization on the federal level and that should not happen again.

ANY powers that be can use the law as it stands for whatever purpose and the threat will not go away until that law is changed.

we have work to do

I say we contact NORML to push for talks with Trump directly. Trump is willing to sit down with the unions, and companies to keep jobs here. Cannabis is now a job issue, and a common sense freedom issue. It's time to change the approach. Liberal politicians and the liberal media, would shit their pants if Trump was the one to end the war on cannabis. It would be great if cannabis could be the issue that brings Americans together.

Sessions' comments about cannabis are like a crocodile's nose above the surface of the water. Seeing that, it's only natural to discuss the large & dangerous beast behind it.

Don't mistake that nose for something else.

That's the point. Trumps not a politician, let's use that to our advantage. We aren't getting anywhere doing the same shit, I support NORML but I think they are trying to chip away at things on a state level. I say fuck it swing for the fences, fences being federal law. Fuck sessions he's wrong and he won't admit it ever. Let's go over his head.
