It's really a shame as to what's going on with Elon Musk these days, I liked him much better before he became the richest man in the US. Back before he became super wealthy his focus seemed to be all about the environment and it was that focus that motivated him in most of his business ventures. SpaceX, Tesla Cats, Teslaa Solar, the Boring Company, all were in one way or another Musk's attempt's to put his creative mind towards solving environmental issues. He accepted Trump's appointment of him to two economic advisory councils back in the beginning of Trump's Presidency, despite being vocal about saying Trump was not the right person for the job of President, because he felt he could better influence Trump with regards to the environment from that position. When Trump pulled out of the Paris accords though, he resigned in protest. Then somewhere along the way he soften on Trump and spent way too much money buying Twitter, which he had no business running, just so he could lift the Twitter ban on Trump, only to have Trumpbasically ignore the lifting of the ban. Since then Musk has been running one or the most popular brand of Social Media into the ground.

Both Trump and Musk need to go back to what they were good at which for Musk was to be one of, if not the most innovative and successful businessmen of our time creating game changing companies to fight climate issues instead of dabbling in politics. Likewise Trump should get out of politics and go back to what he was good at which was pretending to be a successful businessman on TV.

Elon has never been about the environment. All of his companies are a by product of Elon's true intentions of selling off carbon credits to known polluters.

He's always been a fucking scumbag, autistic or not.

Okay, well admittedly I was unaware of this as I'm in no popsition to be involved in stock investments or investments of any kind for that matter. I have heard of carbon credits at various times but did not realize it was possible to sell them to companies that otherwise would not qualify for them. My admittedly limited understanding of carbon credits gave me the impression the only way a company ould "buy" carbon credits was from the government in the form of a catbon tax.

I do agree that it is a really bad optic that Tesla is selling off these credits for big profits to companies that are big polluters still. All that being said, what the article you linked to seem to say was that Tesla only has these credits to sell off because of the significant amount of environmentally friendly manufacturing that it does and all the credits that brings in for them. So while it looks really bad and self serving for Musk to sell his credits to the companies he does, I don't see where that takes away from the strides his companies make toward a more carbon friendly footprint in the future. I also find it a bit of a stretch to say his intentions from the beginning were to sell these credits given that for much of the early years of his investments in these companies it was questionable as to whether the companies would end up making it or go bankrupt. You can't really bank on profiting from selling carbon credits until you know whether or not you have a company that will actually earn the credits you plan on selling off.

he has fallen several times, and not always reported. he's like most pols and judges, they don't know when to quit, and assume that the world can't do without them. :dunno:
I don't know if it's about them thinking the world can't do without them. I imagine some might be that way, ones like Trump, in Mitch's case I think it's more about just having more things they want to do still. I'm glad to see that this was just a momentary event for him. I don't agree with any of his politics but I do have enough respect for his skill as a politician to not wish him ill. He needs to be careful though, all accounts since that incident have him saying he's fine and dodging any questions about seeing a doctor. Whatever it was he suffered it was pretty serious either some form of seizure or possibly a mini stroke. Hopfully he did get himself checked out and just doesn't want to share that with the public so he can go on about his business.

Of course the desparity of reactions wasn't missed, if the exact same thing happen with Biden you would hear a great hue and cry from the Republicans about how he needs to be removed from office. After Mitch's incident all I heard from Democrats was expressions of concern for his health and well wishes. A fair illustration of the differences between the two major parties.
