Trump thread part 2 (Or anything else we want to talk about that's ridiculous in politics today)

It's bad enough to assume that nobody was going to notice... but to be so consumed by the need to always be right at all costs?

He's freaking delusional.
Another example of that came from the business fraud case in New York on Friday, they were questioning one of Trump's accountants under Wiesselberg who testified that at one point Trump was floating the idea that his networth should have a 25 - 35% premium added just because he was President. He also testified that they ultimately didn't add that premium but I find the idea a bit telling. I mean supposedly Trump's net worth was between 4 and 10 billion when he took the office in 2016. The President only gets an annual salary of $400,000 which supposedly Trump declined because of his wealth. Even if he didn't decline it though if his starting networth is 4 - 10 billion how would anyone think a 25-35% premium to his net worth would be justifiable with just a $400,000 salary? That suggests to me one of two things well three if you count delusional, the other 2 being it could indicate a sub concious recognition that his net worth was far less then he claimed such that $400,000 did boost his networth that much. Or it could be that he was factoring all the ways he violated the emoluments clause, something that has been suspected but largely ignored by people.

Tough break for Gym Jordan. 20 republican holdouts for the Chumper.
You mean holdouts for McCarthy or for old school republicanism don't you? Jordan is Trumps guy and who Trump was supporting in this race. Actually it's more likely they were just hold outs for themselves since they've all in districts dominated by Biden and so they're afraid they'll be voted out if they get too chummy with the MAGA Republican's.

What i found more hilarious was Jefferies came closer to winning the Speakership then Jordan did.

Nice to see Hannity go full mask off and just straight whipping votes for Gym Jordan. Why is a “journalist” directly lobbying members of Congress? Fox News that’s why!

You know given the legal troubles that have arisen from Fox hosts getting involved in MAGA politics, one would think they would have learned their lesson and avoid this sort of activity.

Of course as one might expect it has now matastisized into worse behavior as there is now reporting today of MAGA supporters sending harrassing and threatening messages to the wives of the representatives who choose to not vote for Gym Jordon. I guess Free Speech only matters when it's convenient.

President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign has surpassed Donald Trump’s campaign in followers on Truth Social after just a few days on the platform. @BidenHQ has 25.7k followers as of late Wednesday afternoon, while @TeamTrump only has 22k. On Wednesday morning, Truth Social, which is personally owned by Trump, notified users via email that Biden had made an account. The Biden campaign’s account on X, formerly known as Twitter, posted on Monday that they took part in the social media platform “because we thought it would be very funny.”

Not really. They were holdouts on Jordan refusing to vote for him. Semantics maybe. That was the vote. In fact they voted for McCarthy and Scalise mostly instead of Jordan. Not really Biden leaning as you say. The number of no Jorda votes did increase by two on the second round.

Now if Sidney Powell implicates Jordan in the case with Jack Smith, Jordan will be toast as soon as the cat is out of the bag. Where she made a deal in Georgia, she seems compelled to make deals in the other cases.

Holdouts.

  1. Rep. Don Bacon voted for Rep. Kevin McCarthy
  2. Rep. Vern Buchanan for Rep. Byron Donalds (new vote against Jordan from first ballot)
  3. Rep. Ken Buck for Rep. Tom Emmer
  4. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer for McCarthy
  5. Rep. Anthony D’Esposito for Rep. Lee Zeldin
