I've been trying to get people to understand that he hasn't even read the Constitution.

He didn't understand why it was in his way. He really doesn't understand why that is embarrassing. He just knows that he hates it because it limited his power.

If someone tells him that he's an enemy of the state, he's likely to smile smugly and hope his supporters are willing to die for him.

Your info is about 3 days old because McCarthy has publicly stated he would accept the gavel again.

Well the report I heard was just yesterday but it might have been older then that. Still like i said, given how badly he wanted it and all the power he gave up to originally get the position (including giving up the very thing that made it so easy for him to be ousted) I didn't really believe it when it was said he didn't want the spot. if nothing else he's proven multiple times that he'll say almost anything and then do the exact opposite. Such as promising to not launch an impeachment inquiry without bring it to the floor for a vote. Only to turn around a short while later and launch an impeachment inquiry without bring it to the floor for a vote.

I also don't see much point in him taking the job back unless they either get rid of the problem MAGA Republicans and/or put the rule for what it takes to file a motion to vacate back to the way it was. Without those things he would be in the exact same situation again and Matt Gaetz or one of the other nut jobs could humiliate him all over again. Imagine being not only the first Speaker to be ousted in history but also be the first to be ousted twice, in the same session. That surely would score someone a lot of Social Media clicks and fundraising donations.

So Scalise dropped out of the race for Speaker. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I give it 3 weeks before Hakeem Jefferies is Speaker.
According to what I heard him say in an interview earlier today 10/12 That's not an option on the table. It's sounding more like he wants to get a handful of republicans to cross the aisle and make one of them the speaker on condition that they help keep the house from being so obstruction oriented. Of course I do recognize he could just be framing it that way for now so as to not seem so self serving, he is afterall just a politician.

Okay, not that anyone should need proof at this point but in case anybody still has doubts here is proof that Trump is either a complete moron or that he is unfit to be President due to a lack of fidelity to the US Constitution. Recently in the first case regarding whether or not Trump is eligable to run for President due to the 14th amendment, Trump tried to argue that the case should be thrown out because he never took an oath to support the constitution.

The wording of the 14th Amendment Section 3 says, "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

His arguement is based on the fact that the oath he took when sworn in does not require him to "support" the Constitution simply because the word "support" does not appear in the oath of office. Which is technically true, the oath of office is as follows,

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

There are only two possible ways he can believe this to be true. One is that he is a total an utter moron (my pcik0 bbecause only an utter moron would swear to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and think that means he doesn't also support it. The other option is that like in just about every other statement or promise he makes, his words have no authenticity and he doesn't actually mean what he says. Which then means he has no fidelity to the Constitution. Which is also a very real possibility since there are numberous examples throughout his life where his promises have proven to be hollow and false. Either way this should leave no doubt in anyone's mind that Trump is completely unfit for the Office of PResident of The United States. Fortunately the judge on the case has an honorable judge and not a Trump bought judge like Aileen "Loose" Cannon, and as such struck down Trump's attempt to use this arguement as his defense.
