But Japan does have a military these days along with US military bases on site. We also have bases in South Korea, the US military will never be too far from North Korea all this deal is going to do is stop us from scarring North Korea with military drills that we don't really need anymore.
The only threat North Korea poses to Japan is nuclear warfare, other than that Japan has no worries. North Korea can't even beat South Korea without nukes, the US military wouldn't even need to interfere.

why is it a dangerous assumption? think about it strategically, if NK set off a nuke in earnest some where, what do you think will happen next? the whole country will be turned to dust. SK, Japan, the US would reduce the place to a smoldering pile. US has forces even in Guam, it doesn't even need nukes, there are enough conventional weapons to finish them off. NK knows this and no matter how mad we think they are, they are not suicidal. their nukes are defensive in nature, thats the only value they have, if you attack we will not give a fuck and let fly our nukes, but using them to attack is totally idiotic and suicidal for NK. thats logical and makes the only sense strategically speaking.

I fail to see your point, I know all about the Korean War we beat them all the way back to the Chinese border then China attacked, they didn't win. I actually know a lot more about American history than most, very few conflicts I have not read about from both sides.

ok thats true, when the US nuked Japan 2 times at the end of ww2, non of the US allies did anything, why should they? Japan was with the nazis, anyone left to complain was on the losing side of ww2. Russia was on the US side in ww2 and they didnt have their nukes yet. what has that to do with the point i was making? NK isn't really a threat to the US, they are a small weak nation with very little technology. and in this day and age if they did attack anyone they would be destroyed completely. not China or Russia would step in on their side if they attacked first. cute or not it's simple facts and logic.

the US invented the nuclear bomb and used it to show the world it's power. it was the first, then some of the members of the team decided that the US alone couldn't be trusted with this weapon, so they made it possible for the Russians to get the data on nuclear bombs, after some time they created their own bomb and tested it.
but yes i fully agree, nuclear weapons are a horror beyond mans understanding and we should do all we can to get rid of them. but realistically speaking those that have them like US, Israel, France, UK, China, Pakistan, Russia and India will not give them up. even with NK, ill believe it when i see it. those weapons they have already created will be stashed away, they won't give them up unless i'm much mistaken. the US would have to offer them a mutual defense treaty or something like that so they can be 1 million precent sure of their future safety from regime change etc.

I believe humans will eventually learn to live without nukes.... whether that is before or after a(nother) massive tragedy, is a whole other ball of wax. 
btw those numbers are old, Israel has something like 240 nuclear weapons nowadays. as far as i read recently. they actually stole a bunch of the US'es old nukes that were supposed to be decommissioned, this enabled them to make a bunch of nuclear weapons in a quick time period. again that what i read on the subject.
The Saudis, paid for a large chunk of Pakistan's nukes. They have access to their arsenal. They have stated if Iran acquires nukes and delivery capabilities, The Saudis will be nuclear in a very short time.
