How long should the growths (dont' know what else to call them) be before I give them the snip?

6-8 inches. If you're desperate you can try shorter, but success is harder.

This will be the first time Ive fliped the switch to 12/12, so I have no idea whatsoever what to expect.

week1: flowers show.
week2: stretch, bud sites form.
week3: stretch, buds fill in, crystal starts.
week4: stretch ends.
week5,6: buds get bigger.
week7: pistils get crinkly, buds stop growing.
week8: 75% pistils look fried, trichromes are cloudy using dope scope.
week9:ready to toke or cure.

of course this is depent on many variables including, genetics, environment, fate, luck and coincidence.

I started out reading your MTF Thread and linked myself over to this Thread...Incredible...I by incredible, i mean your grow sounds alot similar to my grow..Im growing Sensi Seeds NL's ( as its my 1st grow and all). I started out with four, now im down to one. Because i had to kill my other three 2 due to lack of growth, and one being a total mutant...The one i kept started showing me preflowers a couple days ago, and is now 17 almost 18 inches tall,and its the 26th day from popping soil..Might of had a little stretch due to some excess heat??i dont really know..but she looks healthy. i pinched at the bottom of the 6th node, and the next day i had preflowers...oddd? I tied her down today... Gave her a little water, and i think im gonna transplant to a bigger pot tomorrow..I want to give the lifesavers that i have in there, time to catch up, hope she doesnt stretch much..

Kinda rambled on, and i suppose its not all that similar to your grow...But i just wanted to add a Good luck on your Thunder Fucks and Continued good luck on this grow you have going..I ought to take some clones from the bottom of that NL but they are growing so tall and toward the light, that if i can keep them and get some good Top cola's i will be satisfied...

good to hear your surviver is a girl.

So far, I have 2 fems and 2 that Im not sure on, and 1 that I believe is a male. 2 fems would be cool, 4 is what Im rooting for

Plants are very happy. Nice dark green color, so so beatiful.

I will post again when I flip the switch, Im still not 100%, but it should be VERY VERY soon.


If not, then eh, bigger yeild for me

Yeah i just transplanted her to a 10 inch pot, Hopefully that keeps her Happy till that day comes...But i do thoroughly enjoy her company...While i was transplanting her i had to leave the room, and when i came back, i said...wow that really smells good...I checked a couple hours after the transplant and she is growing right as rain..Glad to hear you got some fems, its the not knowing that kinda worries me...I dont know if the Bogs will show Preflowers in two weeks...and thats really the minimum i want to veg them...But you know how it is...All depends on room...

I know that color just kills me..I go to bed dreaming of that color,and how it will change...I mean its one thing to look at those plants in a high times....But its another experience alltogether to see it there in front of you.The modern Camera Lens portrays the color with devastating similarity...But nothing really compares to the shinyness, and the calmness that surrounds you when you just stop and stare, and breath, and coax...lol...sing...whatever. Sometimes i just realize what im doing, and think of the benefits that i have gained, not yet from even smoking one of my own plants, just from giving them nutrients and attention..

Nice looking grow gab, sorry to ramble off on your thread dude, again...lol...Have a good one..

I mean its one thing to look at those plants in a high times....But its another experience alltogether to see it there in front of you.

I know what you mean about the not knowing. I just assumed that I would get some girls, but it was always in the back of my mind how angry I would be if I vegged for 1.5-2 months, and got a sausage party. I pray this never happens to me.

2 weeks is a short veg, how big are you thinking your plants will be at 2 weeks from seed?

The bogs have been vegging for 19 days...and i want to let them go 2 maybe 3 weeks longer and then let them go...

I want them maybe 3 and a half, 4 feet max, i know that the NL is gonna probably try to go larger than that, but i cant kill my only known woman, not to mention i dont want to, all the energy i put into her. And then haveing to kill her siblings really upset me, but the only consolation was i had some bogs lifesavers, and they are supposed to veg relatively quick i think...kinda stoned..

Im only growing for personal medical use...I figure i smoke 4 oz of reg a month 11 months out of the year, and the one truly good good month of herb is the trip skiing...They have Awesome weed at Altitude...Im kinda in an area where searching for kind is a pain in the ass i would rather not pursue...So i figured i would just take care of myself, and " Stop contributing to Terrorism" as the government would have me think, but i never beleived that in the first place.. I just know that i would prefer to smoke more really good weed, and i would rather put the time and energy into creating it than looking for it...( Who says stoners are lazy pathetic beings...) lmfao...

So by the time veg gets done, on NL it will be almost six weeks, and by the time the veg gets done on the Bogs, it will be almost five weeks..Just have to take my time, and direct my energies in the proper direction, thereby helping to lessen my pain, and not being dependant on the black market philosophy that rears its ugly head by this continued prohibition of a PLANT..

Back when I had free pot all the time, I smoked about an oz a week too. Now I smoke about a 1/2oz a month. The quality in my area is VERY inconsistant, and the prices are not that great, even though I have "the hook" as some would say.

I know what you mean about the mountain and blazing, I try to get up to the mountain as many times as I can, I always get a season pass somewhere.

LMK how that lifesaver turns out, Ive heard alot of good about that strain, well, all bog strains really.

I hope my MTFs are fast veggers. I want to have some nice sized bushes by the time this grow gets harvested.

well, the runt is a girl


but my scale was playing tricks on me today, and I ended up watering a day or 2 early I didnt' give them as much as I usually do, so Im not super worried about it.

The oddball is starting to look pretty masculine unfortunately. Oh well, Ill probably get another one in the other 5 seeds.

Also, I think I hurt one of my girls. Heres a pic of what I mean. Hopefully it recovers and perks back up, otherwise Ill just chop the leaf I guess...

possibly user error, but I doubt it, since the site was just down, and I have posted a bunch of pics in the past.

probably doesn't matter, pretty good chance the plant will be all perked up again after its dark cycle, it always seems to work that way.

When it lets me upload some pics, Ill do a before and after.


Some of the growths are long enough for me to clone Think Im gonna wait another week and hopefully get ~5 clones off the 2 larger girls.

Time to build the bubble cloner I guess.

BTW, I found something out today that is very good for my growing in the near future. I may even be able to unleash the 1000wer within a couple months. Anyway, Ill be moving my grow to another section of the house, so I don't think Im going to start 12/12 till that happens. The way I see it, the larger these things get, the more bud I will get at harvest. For some reason, Im not all crazy about the starting 12/12 like I was earlier. I just want to take my time and have some nice healthy plants.

Plus, Ive seen them start to take off, so I think they will start to get nice and large for me Hopefully in a couple weeks they will be ~2ft. The largest is at 12inches right now, with the runt coming in at a wopping 7 inches The other girl is 11 inches.

Stay tuned, this grow could get very fun in a couple weeks....

took 4 cuts today, but Id say they have about a 10% survival chance. Lets just say I didnt' do it right, and leave it at that. If they survive, I will be very surprised, and quite happy. If not (more than likely) Ill take more cuts right before I start 12/12.

I actually decided to keep the mentioned plants alive, and have put them into 12/12 under my 150w HPS. I was just going to chop them, but they are both very healthy, and since this is my first grow, I would hate to make a mistake and kill a perfectly good girl. I still have hope for the oddball, I like that pheno better than the other plants thus far. It has been by far the least picky, and easiest plant to grow overall.


One of my cutting is looking pretty dead, but surprisingly, the other 3 are looking pretty good thus far. Maybe cloning isn't so hard afterall....

The confirmed girls are doing quite well, although I starved one of them a couple days ago by accident. No worries, its looking as good as it ever was, and all 3 are really starting to pick up the pace (compared to how the early veg went).

Im very excited about moving my grow, because like I said, I have so much space, pretty much the sky is the limit. I have the room to run 2000w+ if i wanted. Can't wait to get that ball rolling.


The seedlings are doing good. I have a fan on them as they were stretching a little bit, but Im not very worried about it because they will be getting transplanted shortly anyway. Hopefully Ill get a good percentage of the oddball pheno with these 5 seeds. Time will tell....

No pics today, unless someone would like to put in a request (doubtful).

As always, Ill be back in a couple days or possibly sooner.

time for a transplant soon

tomorrow Im supposed to be moving my grow to a different area in the house. I will be transplanting within a couple days of the move, because I suspect that my plants are starting to get nice and rootbound. I figure Ill give them 1-2 weeks in the new pots, then flip to 12/12.

The clones are looking pretty good. The one that died was replaced, with a clone from the same plant. Hopefully in a little over a week Ill have some nice roots and will be able to get all the survivers into their new home, which would be a waterfarm. My first experience with hydro, I can't wait. To say Im excited would be an understatement. All of these "first" experiences that you get growing very cool. Its like losing your virginity all over again. I love it.

That is IF I get any clones to root. Time will tell just how easy this cloning business is....


as for the seedlings. They are all looking pretty good. A couple stretched a good bit, but Im not worried about it. Ill adjust accordingly when I transplant, which will be coming up very shortly. Towards the end of next week I would guess. The seedlings are 10 days old I believe, somewhere in that area anyway.

I gave one female a bit of a pruning. Removed some of the fan leaves that weren't getting any light, which let some budsites get alot more light. The plant looks overall alot more happy after the trim. I left the other one, as well as the runt untouched, so we'll see which plant yeilds better. They are pretty much the same size right now, and I expect them to continue to grow at about the same pace at least until I flower them. If one or the other starts to really take off, that would be a good indicator of whether the pruning was useful or not.

Im looking forward to seeing how our grows progress...You really havethings together over there, i hope the ones you are in doubt of truly arent male..But if they are, i know how if feels to do in some perfectly good plants for 1 you dont know the sex and dont want them to be male, and for 2 they are perfectly healthy and could turn any day...Im keeping an eye on this thread...Much luck to the future success of this grow..

DD13, I got my grow moved, but I have yet to transplant. I still need to get soil and am short on cash. Hopefully mums will loan me some cash



I think I just proved to myself that nature knows best. When I pruned one plant the other day, it was about the same height as another girl. Now, a couple days later, the untouched plant is 2-3 inches taller. Guess all the chopping turned out to be a bad thing. We'll see which one yeilds more. Thats what really matters.

My clones are looking good. This whole cloning this is almost as bad as the seeds. Im just supposed to wait for 2 weeks and do nothing...shesh....makes me feel less useful than I already am

If they all survive, that would be golden. If any of them survive, I will be happy. No signs of roots on any cuts yet, but they are very very small and will probably take some time. Im starting to think they will root, because they are still alive after a few days and look better then when I cut them. Just playing the waiting game now...




Ive been toying around with layout ideas. I am very torn between a 12-16 plant SOG in 12sqft, or a 3-6 plant "traditional" grow (bushes/trees).

One of these days Ill decide, but until then, its cool, because I enjoy thinking of ways to maximize the efficiancy of my grow.

12/12 is JUST around the corner, things are about to get CRAZY in here JK

Isnt it crazy that you spend all your time thinking about making it better, what to put in there next. What method to use..Im pretty much sold on soil as a medium..But im a little more patient than the average joe about somethings. Im usually impatient to get started, and then of course a little more patient once things get started, but you still end up wishing it was quicker, but it still give you time to think like you said of ways of maximizing your grow and yield, the pleasure just gets better everyday and hopefully it will be bountiful and great at the end..Good luck, and i see you have had your grow moved..Good seeing you, and ill check in later to see again the progress of your clones. I want to take clones, but first, i want to get one grow under my belt. Dont want to make the plant any smaller than it has to be right now..lol..

but since this strain is a cola strain, I don't think it matters....could be wrong...probably am....but thats the understanding that I have come to in my head.

I took my cuts from the lower half of the plant anyway, didn't get much light and would likely be trimmed (depending on the grower) at the begining of 12/12 anyway.

If the clones pull through, my purpetual harvest will be well on its way. I have 3 confirmed fems right now, and I want to run 16 plants total, harvesting 4 plants every 12-13 days. I was crunching some numbers last night, and if I can get things dialed, I think the 1g/w mark can easily be achieved....we will see won't we....if I even go with the SOG....still haven't decided what will be best for my smoking schedule, and that is the most important thing to me...

Im a total nob, not a newbie, but a nob..as in stupid...I just cut a couple of those lower shoots on my NL and threw them away like a nob..lol.. i should pay closer attention to things like that before i do dumb things like that..I will get a couple razor blades and some more peat pots, and try to take some cuts of that bog lady that are good and not be a JACKASS and throw them away with the rest of the fan leaf trimming...Hopefully i can do something better in that department...I mean if you look at it, i just threw away what could have been two good females.

i will keep my head screwed on better..

I hope you get some good clones off that MTF, that would be a great strain to be able to keep around in your room for a rainy day..

I can't believe Ive held out this long on 12/12. Honestly, I am not a patient person, but when it comes to this, I have all the patience in the world for some reason. Maybe because I know the longer I veg the larger my yeild...


I put them under the 400wHPS. Burnt the shit out of the runt though I put them about 4 inches from the bulb, and when I checked back a couple hours later things didnt' look good...only got 2 fan leaves though, so Im not to worried about it....plus, it was already the runt, so eh *shrug*

The confirmed females will be getting transplanted today if all goes well...they are good and rootbound, this transplanting is long overdue I believe.

The plants range from the runt at 12", to the pruned plant at 14", to the unpruned plant at 16".

Still have my fingers crossed for that oddball pheno. That plant would be perfect for a SOG. The leaf matter is so small on that plant, and it doesn't bush out at all. Although I really won't know which plant is the best until I get to smoke , from the look of it now, the oddball is the best plant of the bunch. Hopefully I get a heavy oddball presence in my 5 seedlings I have going....

This weekend, I will be a busy busy man. Have to get the closet setup, which will be a several step process. Its all in good fun though, like I said, I know what my hard work has instore for me in the near future, so I don't mind putting in a couple hours.


Gotta run to wally world to get some soil and some more buckets, Ill take some pics after transplant (I always say things like this, we'll see if I come through, hehe)
