Good luck with the Tikal now in flower Strongtree. Looks a bit like mine did before training. Very interested to see how it turns out with no topping and just in general.
Tents a 6x4 with 6.5 height for 50watts/square foot. It’s bright to say the least lol.
I don’t know much about the CMH lights. Have you grown with HPS to compare?

yes Tikal is in! just grabbed a cut from down low for posterity....wil try to get another before flowering really kicks in

re: CMH

i used a 430 hps for years... then switched to cmh..first thing is the light color is daylightish...clear bluish white...
now the tent reminds of a sunny clear day in early june...makes the room very pleasant to work in...it was refreshing after all those years with the orangey / yellowish hps

now some say they get "harder" "tighter" flowers with hps but i have not noticed anything like that...

i found my self getting better yields and finish with the cmh....there are both blooming and veg bulbs that fit the same units...ive just used it in flower...i like em so much i may get a third for the tent and another to veg under
ive also noticed an improvement in managing heat in the summer....

Thanks for the info on the lights. I’ve been meaning to upgrade my veg light and will give this a try there first.

7 1/2 weeks in flower and I’ll admit I got lazy with this girl. It’s finally started to build buds and is eating well now. I cleaned up the bottom better and spread her out across the 6 foot back wall of my tent now that I have more room.

Nice Mt Kush....looks like you tamed the beast !.... seems as if you took 3-4 feet of diameter and trellised it into a neat, long, narrow row... shes all prepped up for a bright finish !

Looks really nice Strongtree, very healthy and looks way more manageable than mine. Appears to have slowed growth and working on buds already instead of stretching for 7 weeks like mine did.

9 1/2 weeks now in flower tent and thinking the 10-12 weeks won’t apply to this girl. I’m thinking 14-16 to account for the slow start in flower, but I’ll just go by looks of the buds and trichomes anyway. Getting quite frosty in places.

First day out of the propagator for 5 Tikal. I still have 3 slightly smaller. Maybe I'll keep them for outside or I'll just throw them away on the compost, it's just cuts anyway.

Nevermind the sheet on the left side, Wičháȟpi (one of my cat) tore a side of the tent while trying to climb above it. She won't be tearing anything anymore as I buried her last week after a window fatal accident :(. I am getting a new tent tomorrow (Secret Jardin DR150W), that one is leaking lights from about everywhere anyway...

So, new tent. A little less surface than before but 150x90 is I think way better than 120². Fit very nicely in my small flat and allows me to manage 5 plants better.

I topped and am training them horizontally. Still have to train the secondary so they can fill the box.

Unfortunately, I can't use any kind of net as I'll have to move/hide the plants somewhere along the grow (in like a month or so, will put them in flower only after) because of a communal agent visit for house energy/isolation inquiry. All rented flat in the town are getting such kind of visit, so nothing I can do about it except hide them outside in the old box while I dismantle all indoor setup and move my mother room in my parent's house... Like I needed that kind of crap in a middle of a grow...

After training one with rope, I was like screw this, lets use that included net after all. I'll just have to be careful about not letting them knot themselves between the squares for the reasons mentioned above...

Next update in a week or so I guess.

Happy weekend :)

Ben

PS: I have 2 Tikal phenotypes but those ones belong to only one of them. I'll grow the other one later, I need to confirm it's a female anyway, I was like 99% sure looking at the preflowers and I'm getting good with this shit :)

11 weeks so far and looks like a bit to go still. Having trouble finding a good food profile but as long as it makes it to the end I’ll be happy.

Should also mention I tried a small sample and even with mostly white hairs it is already very strong and has a great high. Really surprised me and my wife. The calyx have a silver sparkle to them.

Excellent ThermalRider :)

Really happy to see you have had good results with the new Tikal R7 x Honduras hybrid from our R+D section. Feedback about our latest projects are always very appreciated

Your female shows clearly more tamed Tikal influence, glad she also got the more refined peach fruity Tikal aromas.

What's your opinion about her after the curing ?
Did you have the chance to grow and explore more females of the hybrid ?

Hi BenoitV1984

That's right, the Tikal regular stock you are growing came from the same reproduction from where the Tikal Breeders Pack was produced, so your Tikals would belong to the 3 described phenotypes in the Breeders Pack. Although i assume your plants belong to the more modern Tikal lines, at least based on their tamed hybrid structures. Later they show great central american sativa qualities during flowering.

Love the way you have train them to full up all your indoor growing space, they also look super neat and healthy, just perfect for a great flowering stage! ;)

Found this while looking for archived breeders pack webpage. Would this still be valid to describe possible phenotype in regulars seeds bought back in April 2017?

Lovely Mountainkush :)

Glad to see you are also trying a Tikal fem in this round! ;)

Yours is clearly showing a more sativa dom structure and overall development, looks like she had some problems with the feeding (most probably a ph imbalance) but nonetheless she is producing lovely flowers with great central american sativa qualities.
Best wishes for the rest of the flowering!

Hi StrongTree,

Nice to see your Tikal as well! :)
Yours looks really close to the Tikal R7 mother of peach incensey aromas, hope that's the case. She will define properly her terpene profile and terpene potential in the last third part of flowering (like all marijuana strains). Hope she is having a good flowering stage!

Tikal week 3 of flowering - untopped the stretch was a slight challenge.... but bent sideways...no problem !

Thanks dubi.
I let this one get out of hand. Too much N in veg and early flower and the coco was drying out too much causing EC to skyrocket. Then I went too far and starved it a little. Currently nursing it along. Seems to be a steady pace of new white pistils as the old ones die off and the strawberry smell is getting stronger.
Almost 13 weeks
