It's driving me crazy every time you describe peach. If I had a problem with Ace, it would be that they have too many strains I want. I have to be careful though, or I won't get to the OTH like I planned. Amazing job. Can't wait to see how she cures and smokes!!

Found this while looking for archived breeders pack webpage. Would this still be valid to describe possible phenotype in regulars seeds bought back in April 2017?

I'll post pictures of plants started from seeds later today. One if in the veg room and showed preflowers already. The other two are in the flower room which doesn't light up before 7 PM. One of those two makes me think of a female and a different phenotype than the other female. Thinner leaflets, longer internodal space (not much longer though) and the smells while rubbing the stems seems different, like a more pronounced peach aroma.

F5 strawberry/central american Tikals: These mothers represent the Tikal’s archetype of strawberries aromas, sour, woody and spicy tastes of central american sativa, with powerful, crazy and funny effects that make you laugh easily. Tamed, manageable and branchy structure. The yield is average and the flowering time is around 11 weeks.

F5 incensey/strawberry/peach Tikals: These mothers come from our best feminized Tikal lines released in 2008. They are the strongest Tikals, with more complex aromas. It has highest incense presence, also with interesting variations between strawberry bubblegum and peach. The effect is very psychedelic and creative, although more introspective. Tamed, manageable and branchy structure. The yield is average-high, and the flowering time around 11 weeks.

F2 Guatemala/Old Haze Tikals: These Tikals come from the first generations of the hybrid, displaying a more Guatemala sativa landrace profile and with higher influence of the Haze used in the first breeding steps of the hybrid. This line shows older and less refined woody and incensey aromas. It has a clean and refreshing effect of medium potency without physical heaviness that reminds you of a good thai. The structure is lankier and taller compared with the more recent generations. Average yield and flowering time of 11-12 weeks.

So, first confirmed female:

Suspected second female:

Does this look like two different phenotypes? Kinda does for me... The second one is even making "weird" twelve (if I count them right) leaflets leaves.

Just gave Tikal a stem a nice rub...the nose says "EUCALYPTUS"
that was a nice surprise !

Looks like yours are a little sensitive to nitrogen like mine. I wonder if that’s what mine is smelling like. It’s a very loud fresh green smell. Never smelled anything like it.

Here’s mine around 5 weeks in the flower tent. It’s kinda messy as I’ve had a hard time keeping it tied down. Just keeps stretching up and is very far behind my Malawi and zamaldelica. I read of others finding very sativa phenotypes in this latest fem release instead of the more compact ones. and thinking
I got one too. Very excited to see how the buds develop on this one.

cheers mt kush ....your 5 week Tikal is sprawling !...looks like ya clipped that top....im just about ready to to do that,,,how long did ya veg her ?

my Tikal is also from fem seed (recently obtained)...so far it's been good on N... generally staying green... But...i have noted a bit of zebra stripes / interveinal chlorosis.... it seems to have corrected since i potted up to 7 gallons...i am committed getting a decent ph and ec meter...seems so often with suspected deficiency the nutrients are there... but uptake is another story...

Vegged for 5 weeks to the day from putting seed in coco.
It was topped at 3 weeks leaving 4 side branches that were tied down. Then the 4 mains were topped and left with 6 tops on each branch 3 days before flower for a total of 24.

This is one of the 24 tops 5 1/2 weeks later.

hey thanks Mt Kush....that gives me a clue on what to expect as the cuts are made.

Any time. I’ve taken advantage of this site a lot. It’s nice to contribute any way I can.
I’ll be keeping an eye on your grow. Looks like your growing a couple of the same strains as me.
I think your right about the ph thing. I always used to use cheap PH testers and finally got myself a Bluelabs combo meter when I started growing in coco. It works great so far and I haven’t seen any issues yet other than too much nitrogen in my nutrients with this plant specifically. I’m using canna coco a&b with a little P/K added. Can’t seem to handle more than an EC of 0.8.

indeed i seen ya i think in the zam thread too...looks like your 5 weeks going 6 into flower on a couple of you Ace plants....all my seeds sprouted out about Nov 5..

im amazed how your Tikal ended up so bushy and lush...seems like that mostly happened in the stretch....seems like lower branch lateral shoots are in play once she unfurls in flower

....kinda remids me of a lanky cut of super silver haze ive kept going since it was gifted to me in 2003...(i really know that plant:biggrin:).... and i use its habits as a guidline....this Tikal thread alone reveals alot for sure

and i see how your Zams are looking meaty compared to the Tikal....
re Ph and EC...i've noticed often Dubis' diagnosis includes getting a grip on where PH and EC are at....i've always been lazy about Ph and never even really considered EC....ive been lucky usually getting good results by relying on... rich soil mixes...( ie plenty compost and vermicompost galore /rockdusts / azomite / biochar / kelp crab lobster oyster frass etc etc) and i topdress many of theese things too...

i guees all that carbon and mineral seems to get the plant through
but now with more variables with all these strains...might as well know that ph and ec....

Hey Strongtree,

Currently in flower have 1 Malawi, 2 pck(1 green and 1 purple),1 malawi x pck, 1 zamaldelica, 1 Tikal and a Lilly from Original Delecatessen. And 2 bubba x pck and 2 Nepal Jam in veg.

Your right, all vertical growth was done in the stretch which finally slowed in the 5 th week. Do you think if I topped it a couple more times in flower it would slow down without stunting it. Normally I never cut a plant in flower.

I think ph/EC was my issue when growing in soil with bottled nutrients. I’d like to get into organic soil. I don’t know much about amending soil.

i try to establish an imagined canopy and shape....considering the height and expected ssstretchhhh...often there has been traffic jams in my veg zone....
in late veg - is when i try to finalize upper structure...1-2 week b4 12/12 and i commit to those shoots

-then in early flower...i mainly clean up lower growth and shadowing stuff in the center....i just study that lower branching and try to see what makes sense....then its an issue of choosing lower laterals to remove in concert with stretch...bamboo stakes for support and guidance,,,

here is silver haze that was way over vegged...in a small pot for along time...

i basically do what some call lollipoping i guess...this one here is not ideal in that it's abit tall..but thats what i think of when we say "lanky"...

Hey strongtree
Nice SSH, looks really healthy. Sounds like we have a similar approach to things. I like to top early and get the branches going then top again to multiply as the plant allows. Get as many going as I can then let them gain in height. I usually clean up the bottom branches as well for the stretch but leave the fans for the plant to eat later in flower when I slow down on nutrients. This round things were left to grow on their own a little more than normal just to see what they would do. Here’s a side shot of Tikal on the far right. I was able to keep every girl small but her this round. I flower under 2x600w HPS in a 6.5 foot tent so height is one of my main concerns.

Thanks to everyone at Ace seeds for such a beautiful garden this winter

VerY Nice MtKush yea i see how your Tikal is structured....with 1200w in that space i can see how she really filled out compared to that 5 wk veg pic...wow!
really got me thinking about my lighting...tent is 8x4 and 7 height - lighting is only 2x 315 cmh =630
i't does not truly illuminate the whole tent....seems more light would lead to a thicker lower canopy
my Tikal could probably be flipped today...shes getting taller everyday in a noticeable way... im tempted to grow her out uncut

but im trying to be patient :watchplant::tiphat:

TIKAL - day 1 flowering

-35 days vegetation from fem seed
height - 16in / 40mm

not pruned - will take cut or two from lower lateral growth
i reckon i could probably veg much longer....but...it is my first set of seeds from ACE...im eager to" just get 1 of em into da tent"....so Tikal out of 12 starts of 12 strains wins the race to flower position
Tikal has also revealed a few what appear to be pre-flowers.....at the tip of the top....
