Has anyone ever tried kali mist from serious seeds?

Siever

Kali Mist is my sativa benchmark but I find it to be very much on the clear and social side rather than what I'd call 'trippy'. Though KM on a sunny day does play with my eyes a little. It seems to make my vision sharper where the finer details of a tree from afar will hold my attention for much longer than it should for whatever reason.

I remember a nederland coffe shop weed called silver pearl (sensi seeds 90') and every time I smoked it I saw patterns psychedelics with closed eyes (no open even if all seems to be more redish).

Khmer Gold Update:

Male back in December:

Female in December:

Female Now:

Moved the female outside back at the start of the new year. It wasn’t enjoying being inside, but has responded happily to basking in the sun and camping out in the greenhouse or on the patio for the night.

Out of 13 seeds, two popped, One male & one female. This is the female, Chantou (translate-> flower), have the male still, cloned him down and have couple cuts in veg. Will start to flower one in a couple weeks, and the other one next month = extended pollination of the female Khmer.

I have never pollenated a pure sativa before, let alone many other plants. So that is why I am going for an extended pollination window for her.

Any advice and experience on this would be fantastic.

Want to also hit a branch of her with indica pollen, while taking the male khmer pollen to a tom hill x18 female.

Silver Pearl sounds great. I smoked a particular individual of Early Girl that I loved. One of the few Indica Sativa crosses that I considered a success. Very relaxing while the mind soared. I understand that Early Girl is an Afghani x Mexican, and Silver Pearl is Early Girl crossed to another Mexican.

HatchBrew - Thanks for posting those pictures of Khmer Gold. It looks very S.E. Asian.

Silver Pearl can be supper trippy. I tried some in 1994 in Santa Cruz and was having open eye hallucinations.

Perhaps one should do a cross between Kali Mist and some super trippy strain. To tell you the truth the only times i've had trippy experiences with smoking our beloved herb was when I started smoking the first so many times. I really had visuals, even if it just was my imagination that was taken the bits in one's hands (got this from google translate, I hope it's correct English).
The strains I smoked back then were A5,Citral and I think Misty.

Your post makes me so curious that I really want to grow that strain. When I'm done with my daily activities I'll take a look at Sensi's site!

Greetings,

I friend of mine sent me a private message that noted that I must really have something very specific in mind since I'm disappointed by much of what I have been growing. He is right.

I'd like to dedicate this post to looking on the bright side. I have many more seeds to look through, and I have a few cuts that I really like.

SAGE x Purple Haze Meao Thai:

picture.php

This ^^ has a very good combination buzz. Nice stony feel, but also an energy to it that makes me want to do something. It also has some of the best aromas I have ever grown. They changed drastically while I was growing it, but they were all good and vey pungent. At one point, the first couple of weeks drying, it was far more like frankincense than the Western Winds I once grew. I wonder if I could make the taste match the aromas if I flush the living crap out of it like I did to the GN x NHz x MM. If that were to work, everyone would go crazy over this cut. I think I could smoke a lot of this weed and not get bored.

SAGE:

picture.php

SAGE ^^ has the high closest to what I am looking for. A bit energetic, heightened senses, otherworldly, and decidedly happy about it. Make it 4 times more potent, last longer, give it a big adrenalin rush at the beginning of the high, and you would have Thai Stick. I'd prefer just making it stronger. This also has a phenomenal aroma. Crossing this with the Purple Haze Meao Thai turned out to be a great idea. The aromas are less complex than the cross, but I crave it more. Rub the stem, and smell my fingers... rub the stem, and smell my fingers.... repeat... all day long. Sugar and spice (sweet sage), but after a long cure it was simply piney. It does not get any better than this. Ditto on the flushing the living daylights out of it experiment.

Copalita Oaxacan:

picture.php

This ^^ is not the high I'm looking for, and was not expecting. It is the one that is growing on me. I think this is one that would be greatly appreciated by Indica and Sativa lovers alike. Cerebral, yet soooo relaxing. I doubt I would be motivated to do anything, but I'd be very happy sitting around in a half dream state. I know that Kush is the name of strains from the Hindu Kush mountains between India and Afghanistan, but the pronunciation of C-U-S-H is the sound that my mind makes while sinking into the cushions letting my mind disintegrate into tiny pieces and floating off into the atmosphere. Somebody bring me a lemonade and put the straw to my lips without making a sound.

I may have let it get too ripe.

I like the sound of that Copalita, reminds me of a sativa polyhybrid from last season,
it contains Mexican, Lebanese sativa and Leda Uno (Kc brains).
I like it for any time of the day as the effects are subtle at first, when you keep hitting it though it will whack you back into the couch.
The best I can describe the smell would be floral/herbal, a little sweet and a slight chemical background (in the same way some flowers have a slight chemical/ammonia edge)

Greetings,

I decided to chop the GN x NHz x MM plant today. I don't think it will ever stop throwing pistils, and my nose tells me the peak was somewhere between 6 and 7 months.

My Jamaican Ganja (60s Lambsbread) went into the flowering cabinet. It is just starting to green up after the neglect and cutting it back a couple of weeks ago:

picture.php

I put it into the cabinet all by itself. I want to baby this one better than I did the last one. It is in a bigger pot than I normally use:

picture.php

I spread out the branches in the hopes that it will fill the cabinet. I'm hoping the increased temperature and fresh fertilizer will get it to take off and look healthy. The fertilizer solution that drains through the pots from my flowering cabinet gets recycled and sometime boosted to use on my vegetation cabinet.

picture.php

We'll see how she, hopefully, responds.

I still have cuttings of the two males in my first flowering attempt. If she is confirmed female, I'll add these to the cabinet until near pollen drop. I would like a hundred seeds or so from this grow in case it is good. Pure inbred lines like this are extremely rare these days. I have promised to preserve and protect this beauty.

Since this plant is not yet looking in good shape, here is another picture of the males when they looked healthy to quench the plant porn desires in us:

Hey BigHerb,

That is a good plan, but first I'm going to wait a few weeks and see which branches grow up near the lights. The bottom branches look like they might shoot up to the top. It kinda looks like a reveg from flowering at the moment. This thing has been vegetating for 5 or 6 months waiting for the flowering cabinet to clear. It has a sturdy stem and near the bottom it is already looking like it has bark. I usually don't see that until well into flowering. This plant has not even thrown a pistil yet, which amazes me. I still think it is going to be a female, since it looks so much more compact compared to the males I grew.

Did anyone find one that is as the title suggests? Trip Weed? I have NEVER come across anything of this style that potent. Really spacey, and heart racing (near-paranoia) is the closest. Spacey i like the heartracing eyes wide open high is ok. Never got closed eyes visuals as described by some, not from thc more of a blood pressure drop and spotty vision, you know about to pass out. Good luck and help us look in the right direction.

Peace

Hi Homebrew420,

From my experience, the short answer is that the following are the best examples:

Certain Phenotypes of Neville's Haze
Thai Stick
Sumatran
Jamaican Ganja
Some Colombian Strains
Zamaldelica
Certain Phenotypes of Thai Skunk

To a lessor extent:

Certain Phenotypes of SAGE
Certain Phenotypes of Bangi Haze

Unfortunately, the availability of many of these strain have been lost or great diminished.

What I have come to find since starting this thread is that people's ideas of what trippy is has more variation than I ever dreamed existed. Similar to your experience, I have never had "visuals" (hallucinations) except when on the edge of passing out, just like I have every night when I fall asleep, and every time I wake up in the morning. This includes when I have experienced acid, and many dozens of experiences with psilocybin, once even when overdosing and watching my friend go into convulsions from ingesting too much. It is not uncommon at all for me to experience my perceptions being enhanced when smoking what I consider good quality weed. This includes vision, auditory, touch, taste, and even thought processes.

My opinion is that since it became popular to cross Sativa strains with Indica strains, these sensory enhancing, trippy, effects have been a casualty. That being said it appears to me that everyone's body/mind chemistry is different and these differences have an effect on ones experiences. I hear many people argue that Indica Sativa crosses, "modern strains", are stronger. Again, I think what you are looking for affects your assessment of potency.

I believe this subject has been discussed at least a few times in this thread, so there is plenty of opportunity to read other perspectives on this subject, and hopefully, others with a different perspective will chime in at this point.

I hope that helps,

ThaiBliss

Smoked Chimera's Highland Mexican - 1972 Highland Guerero x Blueberry sativa - last night a combination of vaporizing some course sift and smoking flowers, kief from wheat like flowers, no real bud. Similar in looks to the GNT X NHz x MM, cured 9 months. Vaporization, the vapors go from perfume, > wintergreen > temple incense (a Nepal or Indian temple incense that smells more like perfume) not Frankincense which is woody/cedar/lime/sweet spice.

I'd consider Highland Guerrero trippy - similar to mushrooms, which I always had stashed for 6 years - mid 1970's. Closest to mushrooms, I've smoked is 1971 Acapulco Gold. The 1971 Acapulco Gold that came thru Miami- Atlanta and was trippy, wild, and fun. Chimera's is crossed to Blueberry so more euphoric and less wild and crazy, which I prefer.

1974 Maui Wowie, that I grew in 1975 - 1976 was trippy, a 2 hour duration/ verse 16 hour duration, and more euphoric, but the intensity of LSD-25 trip with dry sift and flowers.

I sat with people curled in the fetal position shaking, very afraid of the war like cartoon characters climbing up their legs. There are no monsters, try and remember evertyhing you took tonight.. ..Other people tripped and drove to work. I tried, but never had hallucinations. Headphones, Pink Floyd, other wordly, but not seing monsters or cartoon characters. For me waking up the next morning with a clear head and having your high experience seem like a dream or other worldly - is a trip.

I went on a long hike from my house, the usual 1 1/2 hour route along the creek path. Only last night, it took 5 1/2 hours. I was disoriented and went back this morning to re-create the 4 hour time warp, ~ dis-orientation~~~ Highland Mexican. This morning I I had a clear head, but was stiff from the 5 1/2 hour hike ~ which now seems like a dream.

The 1969- 1971 connoisseur dealers stash, cleaned seedless dark Colombian that came thru New York City was strong and intense the closest effect to 100% Pure LSD-25, which was cool, calculated and intense. Thai Sticks, for me had a cleaner, less intense high than LSD, although I never tested the ceiling of Thai sticks. Canabiogen's Meao / Hmong Thai has a cool, intense, and focused mental clarity. Chimera's Highland Mexican is warmer and more euphoric.

In 1971, and my college roommate a small NYC dealer had a connoisseur stash of charas, hash, and marijuana from around the world. All the best that came thru NYC in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Most of it was on par with Thai Sticks for potency, Thai was cleaner and more uplifting. The Colombian's were stronger with a dense more thought provoking and intense high.

It was perfectly manicured, cleaned, and seedless. His uncle had a connection to pure LSD, what was known as clinical LSD, or sometimes, just made using Timothy's formula, and was supposedly used in Cornell's Psychology department for research <lol> The point being, for most people, one bad trip on a rough batch of street LSD, was more than enough.

My favorite high from his stash was a 1974 Maui Wowie, bright orange and trippy, clear, electric and euphoric.

Hola ThaiBliss,

I will step in here and help out, since this strain was collected by me:)

I obtained this strain in the town of Copalita, which is were the first military check-stop is about 45 minutes south of Huatulco. We where surfing south of there in another town called Barra del la Cruz which had gone dry due to a drug seizure earlier that month stemming the flow south. We had made many stops at other suppliers that evening and in a last ditch effort to score that night our local friends suggested we try an oldtimer in Copalita. They had been reluctant to go there due to the military presence, but thought it should be alright given that we would not have to actually go through the check stop. The oldtimer, who had one leg, went off in to the hills returning an hour later with a bag filled with long, airy, golden buds with purple tipped calyxes...I was pleased:woohoo: I brought back these seeds produced F1's. There is an IC thread documenting the parents and grow.

Saludos

This is the story as I remember it, which could be totally wrong. It was collected by someone on the coast of southern Oaxacan near the town of Copalita. It was smuggled by locals from the Oaxaca highlands on footpaths down to the coast, probably where the surfer tourists hang out. I'm old and forgetful, so that is the story I'm sticking with.

It looks like an authentic old school Mexican strain to me.

Hola ThaiBliss,

If you have the Punto Rojo from kaiki, then I would recommend you grow that;)

Saludos

RC_Colas

Looks killer. Nice job e.T.

I have Jamaican ganja (60's Lambsbread) primed and ready to go. I can't decide what to grow after that. I'm torn between getting back to testing Zamaldelica or growing Punto Rojo. I know what you're thinking... grow them both.
I don't want to forget my recent lesson. I tweak light cycles and nutrient levels throughout the flowering cycle, so I need to grow plants together that have similar flowering/ripening periods. If I remember correctly, Zamaldelica is somewhere between 9 and 12 weeks. I've heard that Punto Rojo is more like 21 weeks.

Nice problem to have... considering that 2 years ago I could not find any seeds that I thought were worth trying.
