Thanks for stopping by, and the good vibes. I'm grinning from ear to ear from it, and that really cool picture of Dalat. That is the first really good picture of that strain that I have seen. Sure is wild looking.

I have a feeling that you will find yourself with an old school Jamaican ganja one way or another sometime sooner than later. I do have friends in Colorado, and visit on occasion.


This subject is of special interest to me:
"I have Oaxacan that is supposed to be from the same seed stock that was used by Neville in his Haze"

As you have probably read, I believe the best weed I ever grew looked like a Oaxacan from a picture I have seen posted on ICMAG. I assumed it was the Mexican in the Acapulco x Colombian x Thai x South Indian that Haze is supposed to be made of, not an additional component that Neville may have introduced. I probably have it all wrong though, and I don't want to start any arguments over the real sources of Haze.

I hope you stop by with comments and pictures now and again on this thread. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on what experiments you are doing and posting in "The End of the Rainbow..." thread.

I love good vibes but I need to make a correction, I posted this link in my forum and Uncle Ben corrected me, I got the Dalat, Zamal and a few more from him, I thought he said 79 but he got em from Gypsy in 01 said Gypsy was a member here?

I normally don't mention names, why I said trusted source, but Uncle Ben told me it was ok to say where I got em and yeppers he is the Uncle Ben mentioned in Jorges bible

Plus I have a good friend that is currently growing 4 of those Oaxacans so we'll be seein em soon, hell I'll prolly just get a cut from him, we trade cuts all the time, he also has Zamaldelica going and is reading this thread, said he was on page 10 last night, so he'll be here soon and we'll see pics

Looks like I might be gettin some Nam Black seeds and something called Old Red Border which I am tryin to find info on? The Nam Black is supposed to be trippy, here is what Sensi said about it ,,,,

The high is exactly like the stuff I remember from the mid 70's. I recall some "body bag" weed (don't ask)that had a similar high: every puff took ya to another level, and there was this hum or buzz sound-noise in your head! Best smoked with a good friend at your side, if ya know what I mean. Odds are maybe one of you won't freak, hehehhe...
Yup, right up there with the old Columbian, Thai, and Panama stuff.

Another update on the GN x NHz x MM:

This plant is fading fast. Another branch drooped way down. It looks like there are more blanched calyxes. I wish I had not flushed so much for that Oaxacan it was growing with. Some of the old really strongly blanched calyxes are turning black, I think they are dying. Some of the greenest calyxes are getting dark also. I can't tell if they are green with a black background or a very dark red background. We have been getting some consistently cold weather, and the cabinet is probably 60 degrees or less at night.

The most interesting thing is the change in the aroma. When it first started budding, it had some fairly strong sweet orange smell. Then it became more like cat piss and lime. The intensity of the aroma has faded for some months now. It is coming back strong, but it is different. It still smells like cat piss and lime, but more like cat piss and lime incense. It is richer, perhaps a bit weedy or earthy. It also smell like... really good bud. The thought occurred to me that it smells like someone had smoked a joint in a room that I just entered, except it is extremely concentrated in the bud. This is the smell of it ripe, I'm sure. It only seems to be missing the peppery note in the mix of aromas to make it smell just like the Thai Stick I was getting many years ago. It rocks!


I am watering with a very, very low dose of fertilizer, about half the amount I was using to green it back up slightly to stop the blanching. I'm tempted to go to pure water, and let it all blanch up and die, at least untill all the white pistils die. I hope all the pistils die before I get the courage to go to all water.

Some of my best triping weeds had cat or animal piss smell mixed with other aromas Neville Haze x kali Mist, Old Timer Haze x Original Haze, Panama x Old Timer Haze, and have to include some Colombians or South Americans with that pestilence (sometimes could be piss) strong spycy smell that also trip me away.

"In Ozz in the late 70's they imported some 100%Sativa Purple durbanPoison from Africa that made everyone see things that weren't there when they first smoked it. Many people had to be rushed to hospital and shot up with a high dose of pure Valium to calm them down. Once you were use to visual and audible effects of that batch of durban, it would completely annihilate even the most hardened of smokers for over 8hours...and I mean smokers that could bong 7-8grammes of the finest imported Thai Sticks per day without consequence, that were sold 'before and at the same time' this PurpleDPoison came into Ozz. One smoke, and you knew 'that' immediatly, as it tasted as smooth and as sweet as could be. After some people were hospitalised(for a day) as a result of it, authorities here obtained samples of it and thoroughly tested it to find that it had nothing else but an extordinary amount of Cannabinoidal resins in it - higher than anything else they'd ever tested before. No chemical additives whatsoever. The Media here at the time nicknamed it 'Purple Poison'.

- 4 Double Jam (USC/Cannabiogen)
- 4 Purple Haze Thai (Ace)
- 4 Double Thai (Ace)
- 1 2046 (Medical Seeds, fem)

This is gonna take a while Only the Eldorado is reasonably quick.

They were sprouted under 24/0 light for stable temperatures, now that they are all up I went to 20/4. I'd prefer much less light hours, but the room is rather cold (18 C) with lights off.

That's 3x23 watts, it'll be enough for 3 weeks at least. I flower with 250 watts hps (mh during the stretch).

You also may want to look into Durban Poison. That stuff is pretty gnarly, that is if you like a roller coaster experience when you smoke, I didn't really read the thread just skimmed it.

I've heard that Seedmans early durban (Sam's breeding) + the durban x NL that Nirvana offers are supposed to be pretty good.

I've read reports by people that were blown away by their durban experiences.

It's always about getting the right one. I tried some from Dutch Passion, I think. It did not turn out good for me. But there must have been good ones around because it is one of the most talked about strain for energetic and trippy qualities.

Ive grown out Seedsman's Early Durban and it was pure garbage. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I had to deal with hermies, there was no consistency across any of the plants. They produced a very weak miserable high that did nothing for me.

I doubt what they're offering now is connected with Sam in any way. Ive grown Sam's O.Haze x Skunk and it was straight fire. Its some of the finest weed Ive experienced, and I would never consider ED from Seedsman again, although Id love to grow Sam's own Early Durban cross he made. Even if I dont, I have some Afropips Durban Poison I want to cross with a Mr. Nice Shit so I can make my own Early Durban variety.

TB, you wanted an update on the Thai Sticks so I got a few pics of my favorite one. Im also happy to announce Im the proud papa of not only a Thai Stick female, but also a male as well. I expected sex would take longer to show but 12/12 from seed + nearly constant fertigation has lead to sex showing quickly.

I did get a minor touch of yellow/brown tips on a few lower fan leaves as Im still experimenting with the feed levels for optimum results. The glass tube you see in the first pic is a hanna suction lysimeter. I use it to monitor the ph & EC of soil solution on a daily basis. I highly recommend them to every grower out there.

Tropical Seeds offers a Durban crossed with Ciskei, a short flowering South African sativa. I have some beans, but don't know if they are any good.

@Dave, those are quite wide leaves for a Thai, aren't they? Also quite a shade greener than my Destroyer.

I like your setup, very sciency at and that, but eventually I ditched all the meters and went organic + RO water. Never had a problem that couldn't be solved by a little something something extra from a bottle (like Ca, Mg).
