Dave what is the variation like in terms of high, flowering times, height for the GNthai? I have a pack of these in the freezer still - don't know if they are viable, but I hope so...

Copalita Oaxacan

Copalita Oaxacan

Hi Satva,

Please expound on any differences in the high or intensity of the high of the S.E. Asian~esque pheno compared to the other phenotypes.

Thanks,

ThaiBliss

Hey ThaiBliss, your garden looks more awesome than last year!

The Copalita Oaxacan Red is curing Red/Brown with tobacco/pine aromas, maybe some chocolate. The growth structure is not so good, but the high is. By comparison CO Gold is laid back, feel good high and not a particularly, motivational high.

CO Red is more euphoric, and pleasurable, but still less intense than the Colombians, which can be too intense for an everyday all day high.

The CO Red has a lousy growth structure, maybe you or Dave Coulier could make her sing. This CO Red is getting the best of me -nice seeds but no real flowers at harvest. The CO Gold 16 weeks grows nicely alongside Punto Rojo + 20 weeks.

I haven't found a decent male from 24 CO seeds. I'm currently growing. Copalita Oaxacan should cross well with a strong Colombian Haze.

Current Grow

Copalita Oaxacan Gold

Copalita Oaxacan - 4

Copalita Oaxacan Gold x Punto Rojo

Copalita Oaxacan Gold x ColJam

Punto Rojo - Magenta/Green ~ "Juicy Lucy"

I'll cross Copaltia Oaxacan Gold with any males from this lot. CO Gold is a stable female, but CO has many unstable phenos, first females flowers then male flowers. CoJam and Punto Rojo have stable sex.

This plant/pheno fades totally after seeds mature, so I got seeds but not a decent harvest of this CO Red pheno. I'm smoking seeded calyxes and harvested only a few nice red/brown flowers. The high of the CO Red has more energy, and euphoria than the CO Gold. CO Gold is Mexican.

I'm smoking two phenos of Copalita Oaxacan (CO), as a blend with Punto Rojo and ColJam. The ColJam is smoking dynamite with a 9 month cure. Punto Rojo with a 6 month cure is a very pleasurable energetic high. Punto Rojo with a 3 month cure is harsh, more energetic than pleasurable so that harvest still needs another 3 months to yield a Hazey long lasting trippy/pleasurable high.

For a day trip ~ Punto Rojo and ColJam will get you there.

Copalita Oaxacan Gold has about 2.5 months cure so its early, but the high and aromas are getting much better. CO Gold high is a feel good high. Copalita Red shown has a 2.5 month cure, and I recently havested seeds and a few wispy flowers.

The CO Gold is spicy, cedar, earthy, tobacco, not sweet like Punto Rojo. There is some luck and some magic in curing these wispy flowers. They can't dry out too fast, and they get musty and earthy if they remain green too long. The CO Gold phenos cured to gold//green/brown, or brown/green/purple.

CBG Punto Rojo and ColJam high has a faster vibration felt in the top of the head. ColJam and Punto Rojo high is more intense, mind altering and energetic. Copalita Oaxacan high is a slower vibration felt from the heart to the top of the head.

The CO Gold has the best growth and flowering structure. The high is calmer with a feel good high, relaxed high with increase sensory and spacial awareness and a bit trippy. A cleaner and more sativa high than Highland Guerrero x Blueberry (HMBB) or Destroyer DS or DS x HMBB.

My next grow " Going for the Gold"

ColJam (1980 Colombian Gold x 1960's Jamaican Lambsbread) x 1980 Colombian Gold
Punto Rojo - gold mother
Punto Rojo - magenta / green mother ~ "Juicy Lucy"
Old Timers Haze - gold mother
[ColJam (1980 Colombian Gold x 1960's Jamaican Lambsbread) x 1980 Colombian Gold] x Punto Rojo - gold mother
Punto Rojo - gold mother x (1972 Colombian Gold x C99)
Zamadelica x Old Timers haze

PS> I'll use two seeds lots of Old Timers Haze (OTH) seeds - Gold OTH mother and a Light Green OTH mother. OTH fathers were mixed and Punto Rojo and ColJam fathers are mixed and untested.

I see you found Mextiza. I'm planning on using NepJam with KohChong Thai and SamS Thai Haze x Skunk.

Looks to me like you have a very full plate...hehehe....... Punto Rojo... Punto Rojo....Punto Rojo.........
"Juicy Lucy" is my favorite Magenta / Green Colombian Punto Rojo. The aroma is sweet tropical fruit, mango guava. Has a delightful, pleasurable, euphoric haze high with Viagra. Or at least what I'd hope Viagra to be. hehehe.........

Hope that helps,

satva

Love that trellis. Beautiful plant. Zamaldelica will kick your butt.

Looks like you got the same mite problems we have down here. Spraying compost tea on it is supposed to help. My plants are in a race to flower before being overwhelmed by the mites. This is new for me. Never had a problem before that became out of control outdoors.

Cuttings: I use 1.25 inch rock-wool cubes, a plant heating mat, and an aquarium with cellophane over the top except a small crack for air. I put the aquarium on top of the heating mat. I cut a slit in the rock-wool cube so the cutting can slide in easy. I work fast when I snip the cutting. Into the cube and into the aquarium in seconds. I also cut off a few of the fan leaves before I cut the stem. 90 degrees, 90 % humidity, roots in two weeks or less. Nearly 100% success. Keep them wet with a squirt of water every day or two, but no standing water. Fluorescent lighting seems to work best.

Hope this helps,

ThaiBliss

ThaiBliss, I hope you knock those mites out of your garden. Your plants have looked so beautiful and happy till now, I hope they are pulling through for a bumper harvest for you, brother !

Hey TB, How's the monsters going bro? The Ciskei looks very nice. I sampled some cobbed up Zamaldelica yesterday - really clean strong, long lasting high - just lacked a bit of existential warmth compared to my current go to sativas; Malawi x BLB Thai (hermi mum/dad) and MM#7. The MM#7 is from Kangativa and is a real beauty which IME tastes like a Thai crossed to a haze - piney with a citrusy mango backdrop. This MM leaves you with a flutter in the chest somewhat like being on the verge of an anxiety attack, but offset by a deep flush of bliss. So it's very up and motivating, but at the same time very relaxing. Amazing yielder too, grows like an old Thai....

Thanks again satva. You are my sativa trip guide. So has anything changed with the Punto Rojo as far as being your favorite everyday smoke? Sounded like you want something a bit less intense now?

And this is the Afropips Malawi x BLB Thai...this one was a homemade mishap, but the mother was quite powerful which luckily has translated into the progeny. It has a smooth mild sweet woody taste and surprises with a really nice strong relaxing high that seems grounded in the heart chakra. Not a super cerebral smoke, which IME refers to the ancient indica origins of most Malawi. Anyway it's subtle yet strong. Very enjoyable...

I've also being smoking the MMxOaxacan #5, another Kangativa creation, which has the frankincense terpenoid profile that many eulogise. This weed is initially racy and speedy, but pans out into giggly social weed, but verges on the paranoid in higher doses, a result I suspect from 25% NL/Haze or WW content...

Are you friends with Madjag TB? If so, there are guys on his site who currently run seeds from these MM plants in the PNW...:tiphat:

Wow peeps. What a day of wonderful posts. Got me drooling.

Bushweed - Almost all the monsters are flowering. It is around 110 degrees this week. It kills me. Instead of a fresh scent from the flowering plants, it smells like someone is vapping. My poor plants are getting cooked!

Satva - I've got plans for Jamaican formulating. One of my male Bushman's occasionally gets very incense-like, as well as the green apple and spice smells. I'm thinking:

Mextiza x Bushman's x NepalJam
X
ColJam x Burmese x NepalJam

= Early Jamaican

Lots of Bushman's Jamaican, lots of Jamaican Blue Mountain, but tamed for my latitude.

Then...

Maui x Burmese
X
Big Sur Holy Weed x Bangi Haze
X
Sage x Mextiza

= Mexican Three Pines (Tamed for my latitude)

This year is all about my Dank Dank with all the Thai crosses in it. This year is all about selection, selection, selection as I get down to the last of my seed stock.

I'm also looking through a lot of NepalJams.

Three lines is probably more than I can chew, but it is fun.

Thanks for all the great posts people,

ThaiBliss

Thai Bliss,

if you have a mite problem, you should use neem oil. This works better than anything else I've tried. I've got this trick from Dubi and you know he's the man.

This thread is awesome! A corner for all sativa lovers, its cool to see your gardens guys!!
About mites: here in spain we have a lot, even outdoor..neem is a nice suggestion but will fail in eradicating pest totally. I may suggest cinnamon ectract, wich kills adults and essential oils based acaricide to break their life cycle i had decent succes with this combo wich is inexpensive and safe..
All the best

Punto Rojo

Punto Rojo

Thanks again satva. You are my sativa trip guide. So has anything changed with the Punto Rojo as far as being your favorite everyday smoke? Sounded like you want something a bit less intense now?

Hey yesum, Punto Rojo - (PR) is my favorite everyday smoke. I'm smoking five Punto Rojo phenotypes. Some phenotypes are trippy / other wordly and some phenotypes are relaxing, warm, and down to earth - for a Haze. I like a trippy high with feel good warm energy. Intensity is from high frequency vibrations, usually felt above the eyes, its a tight high pitched energy that's intense for me. By comparison Copalita Oaxacan is expansive and relaxing with a softer and slower vibration thats felt in the heart to the top of the head.

Punto Rojo (PR) -1 and Punto Rojo - 3 are my two favorite everyday smokes. Coljam is too intense for everyday smoke, very focused trippy energy, just more cerebral energy than you need to get thru life.

My nervous system gets tripped out from over stimulation from too much ColJam for too many days in a row. Too much ColJam and your nervous system is still vibrating the next morning. You'll drink less coffee, ~ I guarantee it!

ColJam is the most intense trippy high, followed by Punto Rojo - 1 Gold, trippy, energetic, and motivational.

Punto Rojo - 3 "Juicy Lucy" sweet tropical fruit is pleasurable, blissful, warm, feel good midly trippy, not intense, but not as clear and clean as Coljam and PR - 1 .

Punto Rojo - 2 maroon is clear, clean, motivational but lacks warmth and is not trippy or intense,

Punto Rojo - 4 euphoric, relaxed, a bit narcotic / trippy high similar to the high from a Haze hybrid, or Mexican tropical sativa, but cleaner. A strong long lasting high, that's less intense than other Punto Rojo phenotypes but more intense than Copalita Oaxacan.

PS> By trippy I mean a high that that feels like a day in another world, very transcendental or other worldy. Punto Rojo high, for me, is several levels more hazy (cleaner / clearer) than Mango Haze, Destroyer, Highland Mexican (HMBB).

I smoke a very energetic Zamaldelica all day every day, and lately have been wondering if it's not a bit too much, lol. It doesn't have a heavy come down, nor a "hangover" in the morning, only vivid dreams if smoked before going to bed, but I notice that every week or so I get tired and have a day or 2 when I'm more lethargic and don't get high, but only stoned, from the same weed that otherwise, when smoked a bit more, makes me feel like a lion in a cage during the initial rush :)
It's nothing like the depression after even a single amphetamine "dose", maybe more of a disappointment that I can't always get the same stimulating effect, heh, but anyways it's something that builds on for several days of overuse of stimulating sativa. Nothing's for free, especially stimulation :)

You have me sooo sold on ColJam. Plus... I have to give the Bushman's another go. I have not been an everyday smoker for decades. But when I do... I want an experience.

Hey ThaiBliss, you have any idea what Bushy is talking about?
high lacked a bit of existential warmth

Isn't all existentialism cool!

I use your Bushman Jamaican photos to identify 1960 Jamaican Lambsbread phenotypes in ColJam. I hope you froze Bushman pollen.

"You have me soo sold on ColJam. "

Also, you should feel a bit nervous about ColJam! Hope to flower both Colombian Gold and Jamaican Lambsbread phenotypes next time.

yoss33, high ceiling and unfinished bowls on ColJam. Didn't take long for my brother to put down the ColJam pipe.

I remember Jamaican always had a rep for being speedy. I found Colombian Gold to be speedy. Back in 79, it had a bunch of immature seeds, so they picked it early. The other Colombos, green and red, were not at all speedy.

I just had some Jalisco, man it feels good. On the trippy side too.

Thai, if you could sample a bud every week towards the end that might help you catch it at it's peak. I took a bud off the Jalisco I have drying and put it in the sun for an hour. Great just like that.
