The Search for Trip Weed

Skunk Haze line I call Bully. My impression is that I hit a royal line (baseline) that made up the legendary Original Haze.

Hi Huesos,

Lucky you. Congrats. I hope you are preserving it by sharing cutting with friends and making seeds.

Those braided buds are from a Gypsy Thai x Mullumbimby Madness x Neville's Haze, though I forget what order of the crossing.

Best,

ThaiBliss

Hi Cannabisso,

Your Dubi Double Thai looks real nice. I also like the picture of the Acapulco Gold plant you posted on another thread. Looks wicked.

Speaking of Thai and wicked, here is a picture of one of the Ciskei plants I'm growing this year:

picture.php

^^^ I have not been posting pictures of this one since it has not been as healthy and pretty as the other two Ciskei plants I have growing. It has burnt and curled leaf tips, and it is far less vigorous than the others. Last evening I walked by it and rubbed a stem with my fingers to see what it has been smelling like, and it really impressed me. It has the meanest aroma of the three. The aromas are the same as the others, lemon; menthol; licorice, but this also has some spiciness and medicine aroma. The proportions of the aromas and additional spicy and medicinal smells just makes my nostrils recoil with a sense of "beware" of this one. I like!

It also reminds me of Thai that I once grew. It has the narrow leaves and jagged serrations, but the part that really triggers my memories are the stems. They are very thin, but stiff and strong. It also has huge internode length and a look of bamboo or boniness.

I hope these turn out as good as they look to me.

Just a point of clarification... When something "looks good" to me, it is usually because it looks similar to some killer good weed I have smoked in the past, and when I grew the seeds, there were certain looks to them. When I see "the look" again somewhere in some other plants, it reminds me of the great week I smoked in the past.

Hope your search is going well,

ThaiBliss

Sent here by Rollitup thread about Sativa that I have had no luck cloning for several weeks over the last year.

If any of you are cloning ANY Sativas (not more than 10% indica, preferably 100% Sat, I'd sure like to know how you are doing it.

I have 20 year old pure Sat seeds that threw in great soil and they all rooted. Took many cutting from them and tried aerator, coca, top soil, several brands of grow medium, rock wool, Rapid rooters, and have gotten only one to even think about rooting which did not survive.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I've never found sativas any harder to clone than indicas, for me it just seems to be dependent on the genetic makeup of the donor plant.

I don't claim to be a clone master by any stretch and I've had more than my share of abysmal failures similar to yours. Couple things I've found that improved my results:

*start with healthy plants that are nice and green and not nitrogen deficient
*sterilize every thing
*I use rapid rooters - don't keep these too wet especially after the first 48 hours
*I've tried all kinds of rooting agents but Hormodin 3 seems to be the best for me
*I don't have to worry about temps but they should be above 75F
*Less light works better than more light - I clone in a 2'x2' space and light it with one 32W CFL or one 9W LED bulb 12-15" above the plants.

I've gotten roots in as little as 7 days, some cuts have taken a month and some just never develop roots and die.

After two weeks I start to foliar feed sparingly to give them some help.

For me it's usually a numbers game, I take twice as many cuttings as I want to end up with and then hopefully can pick the best looking that make it.

About a week ago I was pruning some smaller plants and pinched off the most prominent top growth of an ACE Golden Tiger plant. I almost tossed it in the bucket and then thought "Wow, that's a nice start" so I stuck it right in the dirt at the edge of the pot. The next day it was severely wilted and I thought it was done for. Saw it today and it looked fine so out of curiosity, I ran my finger underneath it and pulled it up and it had exploded with new root growth so I potted it up.

Just goes to show you that anything can happen....

While I'm not a wiz at cloning I do a decent job getting my GN thai sticks to clone even when cuttings are taken 100 days into flower. Maybe I can help you out a lil with my method.

I use rapid rooters, and a burpee seed starting kit that has a reservoir and a capillary mat that pulls solution out of the reservoir. Found at home depot. I like to use a mild 200-250 ppm solution in the res to feed my cuttings as they root. If I dont use any ferts, they yellow very quickly and struggle to root extending cloning time.

Most root within 10 days this way as long as I keep the fungus gnats away. Their larvae love munching on cuttings :(. Do you have any fungus gnats at all? That could be a culprit. I've lost whole batches of cuttings that way and it had me perplexed till I saw the wriggly fucks.

Here is another mutant leaf shot for your collection ThaiBliss, from zamaldelica 09 clone.

Love that trellis. Beautiful plant. Zamaldelica will kick your butt.

Looks like you got the same mite problems we have down here. Spraying compost tea on it is supposed to help. My plants are in a race to flower before being overwhelmed by the mites. This is new for me. Never had a problem before that became out of control outdoors.

Cuttings: I use 1.25 inch rock-wool cubes, a plant heating mat, and an aquarium with cellophane over the top except a small crack for air. I put the aquarium on top of the heating mat. I cut a slit in the rock-wool cube so the cutting can slide in easy. I work fast when I snip the cutting. Into the cube and into the aquarium in seconds. I also cut off a few of the fan leaves before I cut the stem. 90 degrees, 90 % humidity, roots in two weeks or less. Nearly 100% success. Keep them wet with a squirt of water every day or two, but no standing water. Fluorescent lighting seems to work best.

Hope this helps,

ThaiBliss

Copalita Oaxacan

Copalita Oaxacan

Copalita Oaxacan gold pheno - 3 month cure, best flowering structure! Punto Rojo has better resin coverage and Copalita oaxacan has denser flowers than Punto Rojo. Highland Oaxacan high, increased sensory and space, awareness, feel good energy, clear head, pleasureable and a bit trippy. Not as strong, psycedelic, trippy or intense as Colombian Punto Rojo, Colombian Gold / Jamaican Lambsbread.

Growing crosses:

Copalita Oaxacan x (Colombian Gold / Jamaican Lambsbread)

Copalita Oaxacan x Colombian Punto Rojo

Copalita Oaxacan - gold pheno 3 month cure

Copalita Oaxacan - gold pheno 16 weekws flowering

pheno

Copalita Oaxacan - gold pheno ~ 12 weeks flowering

Copalita Oaxacan - red 3 month cure, South East Asian~esque. Wonderful high! Worst flowering structure.

Hi Satva,

Please expound on any differences in the high or intensity of the high of the S.E. Asian~esque pheno compared to the other phenotypes.

Thanks,

I've gotten to enjoy smoke from 4 different gn Thai stick and the highs are always up clear and energetic. Great pick me up when your feeling worn down. Makes you want to work in your garden and tend to them more closely than normal.

21 weeks is cake walk after you do it quite a few times. You should give it a go.
