First off, wonderfull thread. I'm up to page 125 now, lots more to read.

Thanks TheMole. k+ to you.

Often enough the frequent posters to this thread mention limitations to grow space or plant numbers. While examining my fruit trees a while back I was wondering if grafting would work with cannabis, wich is a common technique on fruit trees.

I have seen plants grafted before. 3 cuttings from the same mother were grafted together to form a tripod. Not sure why, but possibly to stabilize it against rain and wind. Interesting thoughts, but I'm not sure it is worth the effort in my climate which does not allow perennial growth.

Koondense - Heck yes I'm worried about wind and rain! But I can't help myself.

Last year I built 8 foot high trellises using t-posts that worked out great:
picture.php

The branches grew through the trellis and supported the branches:
picture.php

We had a violent thunderstorm come through and I did not have a single branch break. A similar storm hit us the previous year, and flattened all my plants. These trellises were a revelation.

This year I fully expect, hope, to get a few plants that are 20 foot + high. Last year I put up the trellises in early to mid July. I'm planning on finding the tallest t-posts I can find, and start staking them out next weekend. I fully expect that half the plant will not have the branches supported. It will be a roll of the dice, but I can't help but try for mega-plants.

Yesum - I like your choice of strains to try! Please post pictures and updates here.

Are the stakes youre using like metal road sign posts? You could bolt 2 together to get a much taller one. Though you may have to add guylines to keep them stable.

Always a pleasure to read you

What are these genetics you speak of which you think may reach 20ft ?

That trellis seems like it worked well .But I'd think green would be a better option especially if not a legal grow

Bangi Haze and NepalJam grew to nearly 16 feet a couple of years ago:

This year that NepJam previously posted is more than twice as big at this stage. It, and others, have triple the compost and soil amendments compared to the previous year.

I'm in Oregon and covered by a Medical grow license. It is allowable to sell excess stock to dispensaries, which is considerable motivation to grow them big.

Koondense - If Ciskei ripens here, and is better than my best Bangi Haze cut, I plan to use Bangi Haze to make it earlier ripening. I will develop a early ripening trippy weed for northern latitudes so I will have one in my possession once again. Most of the foundations are in place.

With those genetics and the great start , you'll have a good chance of hitting that mark .

I wish you the best and will stay posted for your progress

It will be a pleasure to be finally growing outside next year as I am in Oregon as well. Glad you are here in Oregon spreading the medicine around. You way out in farm land also?

Insane plants man. A good way to help them bigger 15+ foot trees is to steady the branches using 5' or 10' foot bamboo sticks. I find crossing them up like a X through the tree will allow for more tie places. Good luck on developing and peace be with you.

Here you go Koondense. 2 Oaxacans to the left, a Jarilla and a Jalisco to the right. I am tying all down a bit and supercropping. Even if I let them go they would not be over 2 feet tall, mostly shorter.

I vegged them 5 weeks and they have been in flower for a week (flipped lights a week ago) and they are in ffof 2 gal. and the rest in gal or 3/4 gal. The Oaxacan have some weak phenos that do not want to grow, like the one on the left. I have another weak one too. The Jarilla had a runt that will never give anything but I want a male or just a few grams to smoke to test different phenos.

The Jalisco is the hardiest of them easily. No runts or stalled growth.

Terrible lighting for this Big Sur Holy Weed cut today at day 51. Her flowers look and smell identical to a SAGE cut that I'm running right now: sweet pine and turpentine.

Wow! That was fast. Looks really good. I like the picture.

Any chance you left some to ripen a bit longer for testing? Is the SAGE still hanging in there?

Thanks,

ThaiBliss

^^ Yea, why not? First off I will be making f2's of everything, mostly the Jarilla as I have no more seeds of it. Will nail the fem Oaxacans with some pollen from the others, maybe both Jarilla and Jalisco.

I haven't harvested anything yet as both the SAGE and BSHW are still going strong. I think the SAGE has less than 2 weeks left and the BSHW definitely has a number of weeks ahead of her.

Ah that makes more sense. You said cut today at day 51 for the BSHW & I was like, huh?

That old NorCal SAGE cut is awesome. Great stone.

Mexican Red Hair

Mexican Red Hair

Hey Madjag, Tell us more about the Arizona grown Mexican Red hair. I love the high from Mexican NLD.

satva, awesome pics......I remember how nice the first Mexican sinsemilla was once it started flowing into Arizona the early 70's. It was exceptionally full of red hairs, the female pistils,

Copalita Oaxacan near harvest is full of red hairs.,

Mexican genetics in Destroyer is full of red hairs.I call this pheno "Red Hair - 11 finger"

1974 Maui Wowie was full of red hairs, which I grew from 1975 - 1979. Looking back in time, the one i grew was probably a Mexican variety, grown in Maui. Although some speculate that the island of Maui is not big enough to supply the world with all the so-called Maui Wowie.

Hey guys ,
so this is how the zamal turned out ,
tripping grass ,,
well if i had a lower tolerance im sure it would be ,
seems to be that no ceiling and hard to build tolerance though ,
im stoned to the bone everyday on it for the last week ..

Would be great stuff to give to folks that say sativa doesn't do anything to them, cruel but fun ... hehe ..

Kinda disorientating ,
gotta keep reminding oneself what one should be doing ,, im used to having to do that though ...

Nice smoke report. Very good, especially from someone so close to Thailand, PNG, and other tropical/subtropical areas where great weed is grown.

Thanks,
