I have a few packs of deepchunk , some landrace IBL afghan seed that i was gifted , and i'm workin on findinga skunky sensi seeds afghani 1 atm, we'll ese what i come up with, as far as skunk #1 i've never seen a skunky 1.

I've seen some "musky" almost skunky examples of Deepchunk, and i'm definatly getting a nice odor from some of the sensi afghani #1's i have going now, but the problem with the sensi afghani was that all of the seedlings were mutants at first, some of which died off, and some grew out of it... kind of weird. but they are what i would call "skunky" although not probably as much so as a real "roadkill" pheno of skunk if there indeed is such a thing!

I also have some Golden Skush that i'm growing out atm. i'm getting some pretty skunky odor out of.

Outta my tester seeds from TUKTUK's Humbolt Express (Trainwreck x Californian Sativa) I've found 3 very skunky stinkers, and also one of the germinated seeds from a freebie-pack of SADP X Sk1... (Tossed the stinky Durban Skunk because it was morphing a little in bloom and pollinating anything close to it or below....)
Both these are stinking up any room or bag or car or bar even by just a little bagged gram.

dark green i'll answer a few of your questions...only the ones i have experience with.

i grew some ak-47 and none would be considered rks smelling, there were some "skunky" undertones but nothing standout like what we are looking for.

i've smoked white rhino grown indoors and outdoors, although very good smoke there wasn't any rks smells....but i do have a couple packs i'm growing outdoors this upcoming season.

i grew mendocino madness for 3yrs and didn't find any skunkyness to it, real nice outdoor early strain though.

just got done with a 2000w black domina grow, smokin on some as i type, not skunky at all really.

i've been interested in thczr's sensi afghan 1's since he popped them, i'm hopin he gets some skunky males or females that could come out and play with my htc skunk ibls if anything shows itself.

the 2 others i have had my eye on in the past is shiva shanti and maple leaf indica......has anyone gave these a shot? i've heard skunky and maple sweet smells coming from the MLI.

the closest thing i've smelled being close to an rks odor recently was some ecsd, i never tried it before and a friend cut a sample bud off his plant that was only 40 some day into flowering just so i could have a taste, it was still fresh off the plant and was in a small glass jar with a tuperware lid, on my way home i told my gf to open it up so i could look at it and smell it, as soon as she opened up that lid i caught an awesome wiff of skunk.....as i set it out to dry that smell faded though into a more sour smell but still had skunkyness to it.

i figure that smell comes from the lineage somewhere in the ecsd which would be the mass superskunk.....thats why i want to work with that cut if i get a chance....i've also seen grow reports of people saying " it smells just like a skunks ass".....so all that put together sounds like a good place to start to me....i'm sure there are other ways and strains to though for a good start.

do you guys think whatever skunk is in the mass superskunk is some sort of pre90 skunk then? maybe just a pre90 skunk crossed with some skunky afghans?

RKS can only be confirmed by people who live here

If you have never smelled the animal skunk, you arent qualified to define RKS. Buds might be skunky, but you don't get it.

Someone mentioned Shiva Shanti from Sensi Seeds as maybe having fit the description. From the sounds of it, it doesn't sounds too far off. Esp when you look at Shiva Shanti#2 being less stinky. I think that Garlic smells are similar to skunk. Has anyone grown Shiva Shanti?

The Shiva Shanti i grew had no skunk smell to it, and had plenty of hairs. The smell ranged from real piney to body odor/garlic. The ones i grew outdoors had a slightly weaker odor that was more of a sweat pine smell. Maybe if you made f2s using a garlic bud pheno something closer to rks might pop up.

To me Sensi's Afghani #1 was stronger smelling, but not really skunky. More of a earthy body odor smell.

Bogglegum is one of thee skunkiest strains i have ever grown, one pheno in particular when cut upon my first harvest with her reeked the whole house up it was truly rediculous. i believe i read somewhere in the cheese threa that a white label bubblegum could have been used in the making of cheese the same one that was used to make bogs bogbubble, let me tell you all of the bogglegums stink to high heaven even in veg they will surpass my carbon filter ten fold . also the one cut in particular has a very large resin production and that rks smell when cut and cured and a pungent skunk during flower and veg is the rks. in curing the skunk is getting stronger and stronger i cannot comment on the power of her buds yet but she does make potent fmcd!!!!

My Roadkill experience:

The one and only time I've ever had the pleasure of a true RKS was in Tampa, Florida back in 1991-1992. The best pot in town was called Melvin's Killer and it stank of nothing but RKS. No sweetness, no pine, no spice, just dank, dank Skunk, the way a Skunk should be. At the time you could not find shitty pot in Tampa, all of it was good, but all anybody wanted was Melvin's Killer. Back then the price was 400 an oz, but thanks to friends I never had to pay. This stuff made you catatonic, a vegetable with drool streaming down your chin. Ahh, the good ol' daze.

On a related note, a band called Morbid Angel even thanked Melvin's Killer on their second album.

I've grown Skunk #1, and have had people give me various Skunks to sample. None of it could even hold a spark to the Killer. ~sighs~

I wonder if you can still get it down there?

hello people, I'm new here but have great desire to get some RKS. You guys pray for me as I may have some seeds in storage that are pure or nearly pure skunk. The kind this thread is about. I used to grow(late eighties- mid nineties) nothing but good skunk and some hybrids I made with it. Have been away from this scene for about 11 years so am learning a-lot reading the forums. Anyway My favorite cross was some killer purple weed with the skunk; the baby's I kept and grew out had the RKS smell but the buds were purple like burgandy kind-of. pray I find these seeds as my storage unit is piled high with stuff. as soon as I pay em for december, I will start looking for them.

hey people, I was at reefermans forums, and saw a thread about a guy currently in Afghanistan with U.S. military, he said he saw a-lot of skunky weed while there. He said he sent seeds back to friends/family; just a thought maybe afghanistan is the origin of RKS. In my experience growing skunk, most of it was some kind of Indica-sativa hybrid. Always was the best smoke, some plants were sativa dominant in the way they grew but most tended to be indica dominant. The high seemed to be the best of both, and the sativa dominant phenotypes didn't have as strong of a Skunk smell, although it was still very strong. that could also be because maybe the seeds I started with were not pollinated by a pure skunky male. don't really know though because back then all I used was the best of bagseed and then what I produced. I definately know what real RKS smells like though as I have been sprayed by a skunk on more than one occasion. Living out in the woods does has a few disadvantages .HaHa! I live in the city now, sadly.

When I first got into indoor growing, not too long ago, about 1998-99. I obtained some clones from a boyfriend of an inlaw.. a grower in the nocal biker scene. He called what he gave me "skunk" and mumbled something about it being well respected by his peers.. I grew em out in soil 20 gal containers.. xmas tree style.. they were basically the same, but seemed like 2 slightly diff plants of what I would now might think were phenos.. one had a fruity smell and pine cone top bud..the other was more stocky with a blocky top and more stinky skunky. Shortly after harvest I provided samples to some heavy smoking aquaintances for their feedback. I thought it was pretty good myself.. but being a newbie grower I didn't want to toot my own horn about it.

These guys they still talk about that first skunk grow to this day. About it putting grown men on their knees, etc. I still have and grow the skunk, but they insist that that first skunk was something special.

Now I've never admitted this to anyone, but truth be told, I only kept the fruity one. At the time I thought the other was too skunky smelling and fruity was preferrable. Oh well..

I don't think it was your legendary unobtainable RKS.. My guess is they were both pheno's of Skunk #1, but maybe some Skunk #1 phenos are just skunkier then others?

Here's my 2 cents

I grew skunk #1 for many years 92- 2000 (maybe)
Things I loved - Hybrid vigor(fastest vegger ever), disease and pest resistent, great sog/scrog strain(lower scraggle bud would suck if you didnt trim back. pretty fast 56 or less. Smell mine smelled of roadkill.



I brought it out via plane from co to cali in 92 and back then it was around for many years. So eather early adam or cali/pacific northwest. I crotched the clone in rockwool and went thru the xray machine and then put it back in is cooler on the other side LOL. funny thing is my wife took a pic in the airport next to me and the cooler and I still have in a shoebox in my closet. Carried the bitch onto the plane LOL

My probs with the skunk was as new strains came out that pushed more resin, the so called BAG APPEAL dwindeled. And I has probs getting rid of it. I did not know many, and it was time for a new flavor. The funny thing is bag appeal has nothing to do with high. My friends in co still grow it and I can get if I go there (as well as pre 90's hp form pnw) but there are better strains know that people want. I also have grown the uk cheese and although it was very good it was not the same.(not sur if it was cheese 18?)

Maybe i willget it back for shits and giglgles.

is the stuff that started my grow experience!!!
i used to buy it from my deadhead friends and it was mildly seeded...
i saved the seeds and when they ran out and couldnt get it anymore i flipped my lid,,,, they called it cali skunk or bush skunk !!!
yellow gold buds ,,, potent heady buzz that lasts and lasts !!!
not as clearheaded as orange bud ,,, heady goodness that plows you in the third eye region and lasts a looooooooong time!!!
definately a bell ringer!!!!!!!
strong up and happy buzz ,,, great if your in a band or goin to do something!
makes everything fun and exciting!

way better than some of these new hybrids that last 1/2 hour,,,,

i had 50 seeds left over that i had in a old ziploc !
i germinated 2 successfully out of 50 !!!!
only 2 popped so i germed some superskunk as spacefillers ,,,
they are now 35 days in flower and i got 1 perfect female and 1 stinky ass male!
when i had this bud it smelled so strong that you could walk into a store with a bud in a sealed ziploc and the person across the room would be making strange faces like they smelln somethin !

anyway i pollenated today ! i wish i had more to make a selection but maybe these sensed they only had each-other and sprouted two perfect ,strong and oh so smelly plants!!!

people who i used to get this from had to stop growing it in favor of nl crosses for the intense smell of this stuff is a big ass security risk!!!
i cant contain the smell ! the male is the worst smell ,,, so strong it makes your eyes open wide like you took a sniff of something powerfully annoying but in a dank weed way,,, i actually embrace the stench and love it!!!!

this is the strain that got me growing some 15 years ago!
they ran out and i had seeds! i moved a little stuff back when and people were actually pissed off i couldnt get it anymore so i figured give them what they wanted!!!!
then my cousin came in with the hightimes cannabis cup book in 94 or 95 and i saw widow and the rest is history,,,,
i turned into a "genetics junkie"
i had to try everything !!!
then a friend intoduced me to m.e, and thats a whole other story!

which leads us back to here!!!
i caught a peek at this thread awhile ago and said "i got that shit!!!" its one of 2 seedlines that survived a reral fucked up bust that led to losing almost my entire selection of seeds!!!
i had one other seed line ,,,, an unknown sativa i call "obvious" !!!
only 1 seed out of 50 or sao survived and that will be pollenated by the cbs male! i call it obvious cause you cant go out in public after smoking unless you want alot of negative attention.... laugh your ass off . bumpin into shit,,, walkin all stupid and cant remember your own name type shit!!!!

and there was "better weed"!
i didnt even know what sensimillia was ! or shwag !!!
this was a time when smell and effect were the indicators determining good and great!

before all the trich covered indica hybrids !~
these yellow green gold nugs were just that "nugs"....
mildly seeded ,,, bulky and firm with that powerfull high and stinky skunky ranky danky musky make your eyes "pop" smell !!!
the high is a "high" not a drugged out tired feeling but a stoney uppity head wobbling i wanna do something fun buzz,,,, great party bud!!! but if you indulge you will be beaten down looking chinese and totally wrecked ....
i use to smoke up everybody who came to my place and everybody left tweaked and twisted with big grins , high fives , and shakin my hand like i saved their baby from a burning building !!!

i will also say that i grew this out with the original widow and master kush among a few others and i was floored that i took a big risk driving to canada and bringing these back to only find out that i had comparable seed that was actually better that most i paid big bucks for!!!!!!!!
