Dude, You definately got a handle on the organic growing for sure. I don't see the "greenness" as a problem but like you say thats the abundance of Nitrogen showing. I am trying to slowly work my way towards a organic way of growing. I've seen the effects of good soil on my mj and I am stoked. I just lack the ability to do very many trial runs. I just love the way your leaves always have that deep rich green hue to them. Pure beauty! (and your buds always rock too) have a good weekend ttyl8r

PS On my soil girls there was a little difference in those two types I grew out...I'll post more about it in my journal when they are smokeable)

well mister postman, the lush green of your leaves as impressed me alot, wen i was using soil as a substract i was getting yealow leaves just a few weeks into 12\12, i though that it was normal, it was just the plant using is mobile nutrients and moving them around from the old leaves to the top´s, but then i started to see alot of grower using soil and not getting yealow leaves, so this time around i did my best not to let the leaves turn yealow and actualy they are very green at the moment, im at 35 days into 12\12 and no major problems, the buds are loving the extra N and are stretching along nicely!!sory if i took to long but i was just trying to say that you tha man, and your plants are a very good exemple of what a plant should tourn out if you do it right!!
PS:congrats on the seeds, they shure look good, some killer genetics there!!
peace

Hi mister postman.. I was following your grow over in grasscity.. I even tried PPP after I saw your success.. I didn't find the purple pheno but the high was so wild Im' going to have to get another pack n look for that pheno because I do believe it has great breeding potential. I like how you carried the purps over into your cross K+ for that.. Hows the high on your Power Diesel and did the PPP in the cross increase your yields?

When I grew PPP I didn't start counting days till I saw pistils n cut at 8weeks.. I probably should have let it go longer?? It did try to crush my head everytime I took a hard hit though heh.. and the best thing for me was watching someone whos used to smoking bunk to take a nice puff lol.. they almost blackout
:joint:

PPP stands for Pure Power Plant and the one from Nirvana works wonders.

Yes, the female I used in this cross was a nice purple pheno I found in a pack of Nirvana seeds Power Plant offering - Pure Power Plant.

Henneessy - I'm glad you liked your run with the ppp. After all it would of sucked if you tried because of the success I had with it, and found it to suck LOL. I didn't grow many plants of PPP, so I'm not sure just how many phenotypes and variance there is amongst a pack of seeds.. I just kinda hit on beautiful plant with a high and characteristics I liked and ran with it growing it from clone many times, and now finally crossing it with some other nice strains that I was lucky enough to have grace my closet and stood out...

I was really happy to see the purple color in these first f1 offspring.. It was something I would of liked the finished product to have, but thought it wouldn't have been such a dominant feature amongst offspring like it appears to be..

I have not sampled any of these power diesel plants yet... I can't wait to do so though LOL.. I REALLY liked the sativa dominant high, and high ceiling of the ppp. The high ceiling allows you to gradually dose, and get higher, and higher.. Smoking my ppp after smoking upon many other strains daily brought me back the type of highs I had when I first started smoking.. smoke to much and it can get a lil racy and overwhelming both body, and head highs are noticeable... As far as yield goes the plants seem to range from slightly above to slightly below average.. I found the same yield variance amongst the wonder diesel phenotypes, so compared to the ppp mother most offspring have a slightly lower yield, but higher yields then my lower yielding wonder diesel. On the whole though at this point yield is taking a back seat to the flavors-highs- and overall quality of the plants. Plus my bulbs are on their 4rth-5th run so for right now I'm looking mostly towards their individual growth characteristics, potency, and quality over yield. Every one is a descent yielder though.. I wouldn't think anyone who has grown some of those known shit yielding strains would consider these low yielding LOL..

8 week flower time is a lil short for the ppp pheno I grow. Some could be quicker though, and I find flower times vary a lot from light to light.. Plants grown under my 400's mature a week or so faster then my 250's, and the one time I flowered under cfls to see how'd they do it took even longer..

Thanks for checking out my journal... Glad you'll like what ya see...

Right? LOL on number 4 the more sativa of the bunch with the looser bud structure they are like bunches of big fat juicy trichome covered grapes..

I'm really curious to smoke that pheno.. It's the only one with that bud structure, and it the only one where the trichomes seem to be concentrated mostly on the calyx themselves, and less on the leaves. The other three plants have relatively dense buds compared to that one.

Its definately got more trich glands in the callyxs. Good

Plants are coming along nicely... I scored some earth juice bloom 0-3-1 and catalyst recently, and finally was able to give them some food without the nitrogen...

My soil was so nitrogen rich this run, and it got a lil hairy there for a second.. I prolly lost a lil yield from that, but sure enough they continue chugging right along getting fatter, and smelling sweeter by the day. Uncooked strawberry pop tarts fresh out the package is the first thing that comes to mind when I rub a few trich filled leaves of the green pheno #1

The spiciness of momma, and the sweet lemony goodness of daddy combined really nicely with that plant producing a scent all it's own... I'd be extremely pleased if a few others start going that way with the scent. The purples phenos seem a lil more spicy-pungent like momma, but on number 3 it's combing with a lil citrus.

At any rate if what I'm smelling now on a few of them transfers to a flavor I'd be one happy postman :rasta:

Love the purple:) And it's nice to see how little trim there is. (Unless you're a bubblebag fanatic of course)

I've got a set of bags. Nothing fancy, just a 3 bagger, but when ur only doing up a lil trim at a time I guess 8 bags of separation would cause more loss to the bags themselves.. Even with the 3 bagger I feel I loose a lot more in the precess then with dry sifting. Maybe it's just me, maybe my skills aren't up yet with using the bags as I've only used them a few times yet, but I do a lot of dry sifting.

I got these perfect I guess it's polyester gift bags with just the right spacing between the woven fabric to allow me to fill the bag with trim, throw in a couple marbles or coins and dry sift larger amounts like that by continuing to shake, and break up the trim in the bag over a sheet of glass... Doing that is a hell of a lot easier and cleaner then making ice, freezing the trim, mixing it, letting it sit, extract, and dry-cure IMO anyway... So the sifting gift bags get the most use LOL...

At any rate I'm definitely not a fanatic... I'd rather have an easy-quick time of trimming, and big fat juicy calyx's then a lot of trim for hash personally.. Even with a handful of plants I get tired if trimming, I could only imagine what it's like for some of the larger growers on here LOL..

I'm sure I'll get enough trim from all 4 plants to extract a lil something something..

Just a note on the earth juice, and how I'm feeding them...

My soil is very rich with nutrients, so I'm starting with a lower dose of EJ then the recommend for average feedings on the bottles of 2tbsp per gallon.

Bubbled tap water for a good 24hr to remove chlorine etc.. Starting ph of water before nutes is 6.8 (gotta love that:headbange )

1 tbsp of EJ bloom 0-3-1
1 tbsp of EJ catalyst
1 tsp of EJ meta-k 0-0-10
1.5 tsp of Jamaican bat guano 1-10-.2
a bit of ewc & mushroom compost for adding more microorganisms to the tea.

I only used 1/4 dose of the J-bat as the last thing I needed was more nitrogen, but I also wanted to bump up the phosphorous a bit closer to the k value. I'll just have to see how they take it, and adjust if need be.. It's getting close to the homeward stretch when I start backing off of nutes all together..

After adding the nutrients my ph dropped to a minuscule 3.8... after 12hr of the recommended 24-48hr bubbling time my teas ph was at 4.5, and at just about 36hr of bubbling it was right back to the 6.8 I started with and I watered... I bubble up my organic teas anyway so this wait was nothing new, but something to take into account if ur gonna try them.. So far so good, and I'm sure the ease of a bottled nute regimen will come handy when time is short..

That's about it now... They are getting no other ferts, and the flush will begin.. They have plenty nutrients in the soil to get to harvest... Hopefully I can get some of those leaves to yellow up a bit before harvesting these ladies. They swelled quite a bit the last few weeks, and really started taking on some nice smells...
