I too have a DD-214 with an honorable discharge as well, but have never used it for the VA. I have friends that do use it and are not uniformly pleased with the timeliness and quality of their treatment.

How long since you've kept food down?No, sir, about an hour after I lay down last night everything that was in me from that day decided it wanted it out. I probably heaved out well over a liter and a half… What little food that is in me today Feels like it’s right at the back of my throat.

But I would NEVER depend on them. They have doctors that cannot get a job anywhere else. <-- Think about that.
